Thanks for posting this. I've got a 2021 K5 EX and was amazed (and ticked off) that only 10K miles in the battery was starting to go. Once I got past the fear of cracking the case, all went smooth. You da man!
thanks for the video. I have my 21 kia forte GT , i had it for like 6 months and now the remote was not working, but i just follow your instructions. you save me a trip to another city , where the dealer is. so cool, thanks.
Thank you so much for the video! I have a Kia K5 2022 GT line and this helped 100%! when my car gave a warning that the key fob battery was low, my first thought was, I bet there’s a video out there on how to replace and here it was!
Thank you so very much, Danny. I'd been trying to get my fob open for an hour, and Kia's website is ZERO help whatsoever. It kept talking about a screw?? LOL! Anyway, thanks for the quick tutorial, it really came in handy.
Don't know if this happened for anyone else but I clicked that link and it brought me to CR2450 batteries, I bought them not paying attention, so I now have the wrong ones. Make sure when anyone else orders it says the specific battery he put in the description
So when my battery got low I switched to the other key fob, but it’s still giving me the low battery warning. It’s also starting to act like the range on the battery isn’t good. Is there something I have to reset in the car to show I fixed the battery issue?
Is there a chance the battery was old? I've swapped a battery in that was already dead even if it was never used. You shouldn't have to do anything to reset anything in your car.
I’ve had my K5 for 10 or so months now and both keys are giving me the low battery warning. I didn’t even use the second set until a week ago. Seems odd that they die so quickly, especially when I haven’t used the secondary key until very recently. Not a huge deal but just seems weird they die so quickly.
Glad I could help, but if you don't mind my asking, why your brand new key fob needed a new battery? I often make these videos so people will find and need them in 3-5 years, not immediately. I am sorry you had to deal with that.
@@DannyDrives thanks for asking.I accidentally left the keys in my pants. Wife washes it and Just found it yesterday after maybe 10 washes and it got stock on the rubber part and no one notices it until yesterday. Car keys not working so Only solution I can find is to open it up with your help and change the battery and voila! Its working
I found using a quarter is way easier than the manual key. Especially if you have ogre hands like I do. I broke one of the little pieces inside with the key.
@@DannyDrives no lol it’s brand new this is the first time I changed the battery 🤣 that’s okay though it didn’t ruin the functionality of it, maybe I’m just too strong 💪🏻
people like you are what make youtube such a useful tool, just saved me a 40min drive to the dealer with a 2min video. truly thank you sir!
Glad I could help
They were going to charge me $15 to change it and replace one battery, I bought a pack of 12 batteries for $5 and am now set for life! Thanks!
Glad I could help!
We’re did you get your batteries from?
@@Woodywoodydadon Amazon I believe

Hey Danny!
You're the MAN!
Glad I could help!
Would it be possible to transfer the module onto a new key so you won’t have to reprogram the new one?
I have not tried that before.
Thank you so much for this! Single female here, knew I would be charged if I took it anywhere.
Glad I could save you a trip to the dealer!
