Watching chat collectively spew out like 17 different moves and none of them being correct is actually more impressive than Hikaru completing these puzzles.
As an example of how absurd Hikaru is: at 4:44, the choice was between Kb5 and a5, as those are the only two moves which make any sense whatsoever in the position. Kb5 Kd5 Kb6 c4 a5 c3 a6 c2 a7 c1Q a8Q+ was what I initially saw and made me think that line was potentially draw-able for white, and as white starts out down a pawn, it seemed like a good result to me. But just as I finished calculating all that, Hikaru played a5 without even a moment of thought, and it's correct bc after a5 ba Kc5 a4 d6 a3 d7 a2 d8Q a1Q white has Qh8+ winning the queen on a1. And none of that is aprticularly difficult to see or calculate at all. But that fact that he either 1) calculated both those lines in under 5 seconds or 2) near immediately intuitively understood that a5 ba Kc5 was winning while Kb5 Kd5 Kb6 was not, is just ridiculous
"I saw at least four people write Qh7. Four people, at least four people wrote Qh7. I saw at least four people. At least four people said to Qh7. At least four. I don't... maybe more said that, but at least four did". -Hikaru, 2020.
Puzzle at 3:45 is really cool. Point is if you play c6 then work the king over, black's king can play f3, and since it's closer to the e pawn, it can gobble it up, so you have to go e6 and eventually promote the c pawn, which the king can't catch (yes, I needed the engine for this)

33:42 isnt Rd2+ Qxd2 Bxd2 Kxd2 Bd5 just winning? the knight is trapped and the 2 on 1 on the king side isnt far advanced so the king should be able to stop it, grab the knight on the way and you have an extra bishop that covers the queening square. ofc its gonna win way slower but why complicate things when u see a clear win? edit: no im just stupid i totally forgot white had a king

28:32 game, how does moving king back not make you auto lose? Cause after rook takes, it’s checkmate making g pawn the only available move. Am I missing something? Update: I think endgame is rook sacrifice check white king. Can’t take back with pawn because of potential check from rook h1 to h3. Can’t take with king cause of queen to f1 check into mate so they have to take with their queen.
Around 25 I have no idea how to come to an answer. A lot of the times when I review and look back, I still don't get it. I wish these came with mini explanations
It's more like once you get it you get it everytime but sometimes if you don't it is like a blind spot... And you can learn if you try... If someone explains it to you then you might forget it... ( by the way I am no pro but I tried this 35-38 several times in last three months)
