Hey again, I just wanted to quickly clear up something then point out an interesting contrast between him and the leper also spoiler again for DD1 and DD2 him getting beaten up by the drunks seems to have awakened his power, the one we see in DD1, also of all the characters in the DD2 roster him and the leper don’t feel regret for their past action, they are also completely opposite as characters, the leper was a king, the flagellant was a beggar, the leper was renowned and loved, the Flagellant was detested and feared, the leper accepted his death, while the flagellant literally denied death, and finally, the leper’s journey was to aid and save as many people as he could in other words a selfless journey, as the flagellants journey was to provoke people and to suffer as much pain as possible for his enjoyment which is a very selfish journey. So ironically both hero’s who don’t feel regret literally have nothing in common
Wow, true. Two of my 3 favourite heroes, and they are opposites. 😂 Despite that, they have one thing in common: they can work well even if they are alone. They are both loners in their stories. And in the game, they both have everything: damage, heal, and buff.
It isn't masochism per se. It is the path of an (extreme) ascetic. Suffering is the desire for your experience to be different from what it is - ergo if suffering (pain) is what you seek, then receiving it is pleasurable. Moreover, in doing so it reconditions the deep seated tendency to seek pleasure and avoid pain. If one is unafraid of pain, and does not experience the pain of fear, there is very little that you cannot do. Pain purifies the mind - it separates need from want, and the superficial from the profound. And of course, by finding pleasure in pain, like with anything it is possible to become addicted to it - which can take you to the brink of death. Triumph over the fear of death can be liberating, but also dangerous because it can produce reckless behavior to proliferate.
Flagelants would walk the land hurting themselves to absolve the world of sin , for this guy that was just a plus with his new found masochism . And since he cant die that also means that there can be no end to sin so he takes te pain of the world on himself .

@@tolvajtamas8567 yeah that is a bit funny, despite being so different their both tanky frontliners that can self heal and hit like a truck
That's actually really interesting. Great analysis!
Death is such a cool looking character design.
So true! 😎
I like our new pale rider
I like how Death's Door'd Death just looks confused, like "Wait what the fuck, this is not how any of this works"
Bahaha 😂
