Self esteem Mr.Gaskins. Most women don’t know their own beauty. We think only a certain type of beauty can have the pick of the litter when it comes to men. So when women are beautiful but not that “type” , they consider themselves ugly . It is sad.
Even then it goes back to her upbringing. My mother has that type of conventionally beautiful in all cultures look and she still got played because her father kept telling her how ugly she is growing up. He was a narc and made sure to break her before sending her out to the world. No matter how many times I tell her she’s gorgeous (even in old age) she doesn’t believe me.
I think this has some truth to it. My mom keeps pressuring me to get a house and have a baby right now. I’m not as financially stable for those life altering decisions. I’ve seen her and my dad struggle financially so I don’t understand why she keeps recommending that.

Thank you! My grandfather worked as an electrician until he retired after 40 years. He supported his wife and children just fine. What is so wrong with a man going to work and coming home? Sure we should all have savings and plan for a rainy day. However, everybody has a different definition of " purpose". Some folks just want to earn enough to live peacefuly. Maybe PEACE is their purpose. Maybe the SIMPLE LIFE is their purpose.
My ex was a kind, gentle man with good character. But he had no ambition or purpose. And would look to me for direct and to be the head. My life became stagnant and we had a child. I left him and my life has changed for the better. He is exactly where and how I left him.
I went through a situation like that and the man was definitely not on my level. He was older, but still has a lot of growing to do. I think the familiarity with this person is what got me, but I am doing so much better now that he is out of my life.
So darn true I been there in my teens and 20s but now in my 30's no husband or kids I'm even more selective cause I'm not getting any younger 😂 I need a man fulfilling his purpose

Some mothers are like that because they don’t have a husband so they treat their sons as their husband. I have dated this type of man twice and I thought that because they were close to their mamas that they would be good men. They were mamas boys and ran to their moms for everything. Their moms did not hold them accountable for their actions.

They can smell loneliness and whatever chemicals drive the pursuit give them that initial burst of energy to nurture the woman. Then they find the minimal maintenance level, the least he can give that she will accept, and return to their vices and window shop for the next dopamine high. They will also find reasons to justify their stinginess by keeping resentments and a catalogue of their gf/wife's inadequacies in comparison to their inner fantasy woman in order to justify not giving her the real thing. She cannot compete with the fictitious fantasy character because it is actually just a way for him to funnel all his energy to himself. He will use his initial characterization of her as "lonely" to tell himself he is actually doing her a favor by being with her even once it gets to the point that he is only using her for her resources (which it will)

Well, probably because we know that we're not perfect so we're understanding and more accepting of men's imperfections. Plus, we're unaware of game...people who just talk.
