Hello again! Hope all is well. I believe sloops are the best to use for port garrisons as they are cheaper long-term than recruiting and stationing troops in a port. That was always my strat for total war. Plus it would free up those infantry units to go and do a significant amount of trolling elsewhere. Also the economy is slowly expanding with the middle/upper taxes being lowered. Region wealth will be going up nicely but will explode with value as you get more technology for upgrading what you have already. The lower taxes is to encourage town growth. A lot of the territories will have ports and towns pop up, although recruitment will push that back as the population will need to recover again. A cheeky wee thing I did was recruit low-tier troops on islands/territories that didn't have any more towns/ports to grow. Another cheeky wee thing that I would sometimes do if I found my armies on a ship in the middle of the ocean but cannot reach the destination is to move a fresh ship with range, into the fleet, take the other ships out of the fleet which basically keeps the army on the fresh ship with range, and just like magic you can sail with range with the army as they are now on a ship with plenty of range. Might be worthwhile testing to get the hang of it before risking using it, just in case that British fleet farting around the Carribean wants to introduce itself to you. The culture thing with ETW2 is certainly interesting. I wonder how you are meant to change the culture of islands or small territories? I know in the base game, the missionaries could be moved around for religion, but since religion is replaced with culture, and the missionaries have been converted into gentlemen to compensate (which is the fella you had in Texas). Just seems like a bit of a ballache to me, as it will mean public order will be a bit more difficult to win over.
There is a research , in the civ tree wich automaticaly change culture per turn without any building or character to be used ! I think you will need only 1 church in order to be able to start the research! Normaly i do that research very early into tge game and then is all fine!
Thanks for the tips. I hadn't thought about research to change the culture, but when I was looking at Port Royal I was beginning to notice that cultural unrest might become a problem. I'll also look at using sloops for garrisons, but as I think I'm going to need Line Infantry sooner than later I probably won't miss the pikemen and militia I have in the ports already.
@@SirVainglory You welcome bro! Once you have the research the small teritories like the Islands and indian teritorys will be complettely change in your culture for not more than 3 to 5 turns! Of course that do not work in big population centers for those without building to help it can thake more than 50 to 70 turns , depending on population size! As for troops....trust me DO NOT EVEN Botther!! Forget about buildings or trops or thaking new teritories just build 2 Galeons +3 Pinnacles and go on rampage to capture and sell ships!!! In the beggining that is the way and You are in the perffect place for that ...Pirates and English ships are your money ;))
Hi! Big fan of Empire and Napoleon TW. I’ve modded NTW to be napoleon total was 3, what does Empire II add to empire? A quick summary or just best bits would be great if you have the time! Great content btw!!
Napoleon's my favourite TW title, but I've always been a Napoleonics fan. I've not played much of Empire so can't really say how much is different with the Empire II mod, but I've read that it changes a few things. It has a new campaign AI, and a new start date. You can play in Europe during the 9 Years' War, and they're trying to implement what they call 'Paradox-style' mechanics that change elements of how the tech tree and diplomacy works. Quite a bit of it is still in development.
@@SirVainglory Thanks for getting back to me! NTW is a big favourite of mine! I’ve read a few books on napoleon and the Duke of wellington too, something about the strategy and warfare in the time period is just really intriguing to me! There is just Something incredible about the discipline and bravery during the time period! Anyway, thanks for letting me know! I’ll check out the mod 😎
I know what you mean. There’s something very appealing about Napoleonics to me too. I’ve read a lot, watched loads of documentaries and played a lot of tabletop wargames when I was younger. I think the different tactics of the different nations/ generals is fascinating. The French with their order-mixed, the British lines and volley fire, the reform of the Prussian army. Also the fighting in so many different theatres from Portugal to Egypt and Russia, and visually it’s so spectacular with the size of the armies and the variety of uniforms.

@ponsekraev588 I might have to check this mod out actually. Learn from both this video and my own experience as I play along
I've not played much un-modded Empire so can't really judge how it compares, but I'm enjoying the mod for what it is so far.
