Went to the rodeo as a teenager over 50 years ago. My grandfather told me my great parents who were homesteading pioneers of Prescott used to own some of the land where the rodeo is now.

Wow love hearing stories about the history. It really has grown over the years as far as attendance etc. In fact it was really hard to even get tickets for this years rodeo due to how popular it has become. There has even been debate over moving the rodeo to a new location to allow for more room. Thanks for watching

@livinginprescott you love Prescott history stories? Here's a little more. My great grandparents, the Dearings and Simmons donated the land for the Prescott pioneer cemetery, where they are buried with my grandfather's family and relatives. On Google the Sharlot Hall Museum has the Dearing Park history. Also "Homesteading the Dearing Ranch " is a recorded presentation by my grandfather telling stories of his growing up including shootings and Indian problems. You are probably tired by now of my going on and on .
