I think that is his character flaw, he has too much pride to let anyone be indebted to him and he doesn't like being emotionally vulnerable. The advice given to Xiaoyao should also be given to him. ..You cannot wish for something unless you want to believe it exists and give your all to it... And Xiaoyao will never be his first priority as his first priority is always his duty towards the Chenrong army, so though he loves her more than himself, he doesn't love her more than his duty. Which is exactly Xiaoyao's requirement for a partner, she should be his top priority. Xiang Liu knows he can never be that person for her so doesn't let her fall for him even though he desperately wants her to. So he treats her the worst to her face so that if she loves him she'll do it despite knowing the turmoils that'll come with being with him. That he'll have to die and can never keep his promise of eternal companionship to Xiaoyao. Such a complex character... well written!! ❤❤
Im looking at Zhang wanyi in Are You The One...im so impressed by this man ..and both he and Wang Churan have made a wonderful drama together...conveying a slow burning love story over the episodes❤❤❤Respect guys! Love to you both and all the cast and crew...I will really miss it ❤❤❤
All of the OST for this drama were outstanding. I go to sleep hearing them in my head and heart. I wake in the morning to the sound of Tan Jianci singing the main OST.
