He makes little pole extensions which are handy. You can pick a slightly longer than recommended pole or pole plus extension and use the pole on a slight incline to give more room or when pitched low or more loft when you want more ventilation. The pole is a worthy investment, especially if you want to leave the poles at home or if your pitching as a base while you go off hiking or running with the poles.

I don't often use trekking poles so I could do with something a bit longer than my Alpkit Vertex pole which only just works.
