    Wasn’t finished the way Henson handles his horses is awesome I’ve never understood why you think you have to put fear into an animal to get them to respond the way you want to the story I’m telling has been a long time ago but I still would like to see this man tied up bagged up and run a chain saw so close to him that it ripped the bag and see how tough he feels

      I really don’t know what happened to those horses. They probably belonged to someone on the Navajo reservation. I don’t think they were actually wild, just not properly cared for. We hand them over to the Navajo Nation livestock inspectors. They might of found the owners or a home for them. The horses also could have been shipped to Mexico 🤷🏻‍♀️

    I’ve know people that thought they were cowboys and that you had to have a horse so scared of you and put so much fear into them was the way to break them one guy I knew tied the horses legs threw him on the ground put a bag over his head ran a chain saw over his head and thought this was the way to break a horse

    • @jesseelisabeatty8205
      @jesseelisabeatty8205 3 года назад

      Ive always had a saying..you can " break" a horse and its spirit..or you can gentle a horse and it will give you all it has to give willingly because it gave you its trust. . I hope its not offensive but theese cowboys gentle horses not break them. I love the way its done. Its owner is going to have a trustworthy, confident, friendly horse rather than just a " broke" horse.

    I knew there was a question i wanted to ask u the other evening. I thought u weren't supposed to actually ride a horse until they were 3 yrs. old ??? Sway back was the biggest concern. You mention young 2 yr. olds and your husband is riding them ??? I rode when i was younger and my friend trained her own horses and thats what i was told. Just curious from you and your husbands experience ??? Thx, Angie

    • @PaintedDesertRanch
      @PaintedDesertRanch  3 года назад +4

      We’ve been ranching and riding for years and years. The horses that were started at two and are still at the ranch, they have no problem with sway back. I’d say a significant amount of people that ride horses for a living, compete, or actually “use” horses, start them at two years old. Now when they’re started at two that doesn’t mean we run them into the ground... we give them a good, solid start and turning them out to grow up a little more is totally on the table still. Horses that get out to exercise and stretch, as opposed to being raised in a stall, I’d say they have an advantage.
