The good thing about a place like Bangkok is we can afford to stay in a 5 star hotel/resort for a pretty good price (which I would never do at home), but then there are also so many amazingly cheap traditional wooden hotels and historic homes where you get a really authentic experience.

I am planning to quit my job and move to Chiangmai to retire early this year. Can you please do a couples of more videos in Chiangmai of this year and how expensive things have gone up. I remembered both of you lived on a budget $1,500 per month but things are more costly now and I wondering how much to rent a nice apartment with 1 or 2 bed room. Be careful with Amari, they will take your booking, then tell you that you can’t use it because of their policy, and charge you the full cost! I booked a stay for my daughters, but they said, after taking the booking with my CC and my daughters name, that they were only allowed to stay if I was there (it was clear in the booking I wasn’t). They are 18 and 17, so it’s not about minors!
I love this hotel already. I am bringing the wife here for our anniversary next December and it is incredible.
