I did a thrift store scavenge for an under $20 Freddy costume and it was so fun destroying a hideous red sweater. Budget costumes are so much more interesting to me than normal ones.
You are so right, I love making budget costumes, I would feel horrible if I took expensive clothing and ripped them up and dumped paint all over them. Much Respect :-)

I'm working on a fan project and I've used your videos as a reference. I am very pleased with how my Jason turned out someone even asked me to make them a costume. only thing I'm missing is his dentures cause theres a part where he lifts his mask.

Honestly doubt you'll respond, but for the jacket, how did u get rid of the unwanted inside material? I'm planning on cutting the front jacket stuff off like you did and kind of using your jacket as a guide but along with that unwanted inside, did you leave in or take out the shoulder pads for the jacket?
I just want to commend you on when you done the feature at the end of your video, and you done the forward facing “long deep breath inhale” that Jason does, as I always weirdly liked that part of the film when he does that, suit looks absolutely amazing, coming from 🇬🇧

The balaclava cowl is the best part of this. Does it stretch without cracking? was it more breathable than latex? My costume is somewhere between parts 3/4 and FvJ/2009 Im not going for screen accurate per se.
Love the end results! I am Sort of concerned with the silicone on your head. I feel like there is some toxicity in certain types of silicone from tubes. You can spend some good money and grab medical grade silicone as well. Definitely wouldnt be 25$ build after that though lol. I wonder if just mixing latex and acrylic paint would yield similar results with less chance of toxic chemicals seeping into your skin? Love the videos though! Lots of knowledge and great tips. Im new to weathering and aging these helped me immensely

For years I’ve wanted to be Freddy, but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll ever get slim enough, especially for the latex mask. I’m not as tall as a real actor that has portrayed Jason, but still at 6 foot my build is much more suited for ol’ Jason. Some heeled boots would help a little bit.
I ordered them both from Aliexpress.com about 3 months ago so the links may not work but they still may have some for sale, if not ebay.com would be the next best choice :-)

Thanks for the tutorial. I ended up spending about 75 due to my local thrift shop not having everything but it came out perfect. I definitely turned heads at the parties I went to.
If you ever did Uber-Jason, I'd suggest either foam or cardboard, hot glue, and a template from online. Easy enough way to get an accurate shape from what I've done.
I added extra silicone mix to the neck around where I put the rubber band and then pat it with my fingers to make it look bumpy and textured like zombie skin. I hope this helps :-)
@@thomasflores8366 it does stretch a bit so it works out pretty good for me. If you have a big head you can try taping some 6mm crafting foam to the mannequin head to make it larger before you put the balaclava on. I hope this helps :-)

That silicone over the balaclava is one of the craftiest and smartest things I've ever seen

I use 150 to 100 grit for a really rough look with lots of scratches or 220 grit for a smoother look.

Did you Also removed the cardboard está when wearing it?
I used large rubber bands and I left them on, it not that tight and it fits pretty good.
I left the cardboard in the hood to help keep the sharp of the ears :-)

As long is it's 100% Silicone for interior and exterior use . it has to 100% silicone or it won't work :-)
