I'm the first time ever on your channel, but I love your CONSOLE. When I worked as a studio animator, I did move master-controllers onto a different screen for convenience, but it's just very clever to have them as separate displays, you truly are a big brain.
Cheers! When MCs first came around, displays didn’t work for MCs so we had to put up with huge boxes of controls cluttering up the screen- it was a total nightmare. Glad we can do this since Harmony 16
Thanks for mining the depths Oli and sharing your gold!
No problem! Hope it’s been helpful!
For what it's worth, Dynamic Springs could have their exposure animated with a key/tween present on their active attribute (and a check box attribute enabled in its properties). With that mode, it would only update position when a key/tween was present. Timing nodes are nicer/cleaner though.
I haven’t been able to use them for years because there was no way of changing the keys until now, so I don’t care how it’s done so long as it’s done! 😅
@@OliPutland the ability to key it was in the node's original release. So if you're stuck in older versions, there is still away.
@@fourneyc I’ll have to check this, as I’m not the only one who had this issue- A lot of people who have been using Harmony for years couldn’t work out how it could be done!
Thanks for the video...
These tutorials have inspired me to try rigging. I am not the best at drawing, but my one friend is helping out by making the initial "turn around sheets" (or whatever they are professionally called). They draw the sheets, and I'm going to try to rig and animate them for our game.
I do have one concern though. A majority of the designs were are using are not humanoid, so I do not know how that will go with rigging. Since this will be my first time using the program my first rig will be a design that's pretty much a blob, so that should be an easy way to learn this hands on.
If anything I would think blobs were generally more easy to rig than bipedal characters, so you should be alright ;-)
@@OliPutland thanks. Though once I get to fish, quadrupeds, and birds... that's when things will get interesting.
Спасибо.
I really like the idea of adding live puppetry controls in Harmony. Adobe Character Animator has done some interesting stuff in that area. They have the ability to record digital slider/knob movement to drive various animations in real time. It would be nice if Harmony added something like it. I mean, they already have sliders that seemingly update in real time.
In addition to that, Character Animator has the ability to connect a physical midi device(slider, knob, buttons, gamecontroller) to drive these sliders. I have basically created a physical Waldo device for a digital puppet. I realize maybe this isn't the direction Harmony wants to put a lot of resources, but I'd be interested! By the way, "long time viewer, first time commenter" and all that. Quality content you have here on this channel.
A friend of mine- Martin Cuinet (who I suspect was behind the Motion Capture feature anyway) I think experimented with adding those features into Harmony using input methods like you describe. I;m fairly certain if someone wanted to and knew how to program in Java, they could transfer the data relatively easily. Let’s hope they expand the feature!

May I ask if these video tutorials, are not complete? NOT from start to finish?
And i don't know where to download the reference files. :( SAD....
I am a Patreon Member ,BUT
I feel like the video tutorials and study materials are a bit confusing to read. :( SAD....
and it makes me dizzy to read them, OMG...
These video tutorials look great, but they don't teach step-by-step from scratch?
Please guide me. Thanks.
I have an anual TB Premium, Is 21 included? Will it keep my settings/ hotkeys?
Hi there. If you save your Standard preferences and Hotkey preferences in Harmony 20 (which I do) as separate files, you can import them again in Harmony 21.
most RUclipsr: 20 min videos on few new features
Oli: a complete rigged character that uses new features
