Please get accountability too (male/male female/female preferably someone that’s been where you are and has years of victory and sobriety). Prayer and Community is so very important. I’m not perfect and I fall into sin often. The best lived advice I have for you, is to never let your sins discourage you from strengthening that personal relationship with God. When you remember a sin, pray for his forgiveness, and check in with him about your life, how your doing, what your goals are. When we neglect the word of God, we are neglecting the very thing that has the power to change our lives. The word of God has the power to convict us of sin, to teach us truth, and to lead us in righteousness (Psalm 119:9-11). It is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), able to convict us of sin and dispel our self deception.
Love you bro! The biggest difference in my life came when I stopped trying to hide the fact that my flesh wants sin, and that I'm weak and I succumb to temptation. Revealing and trusting others with the things I would label darkness in my life, and receiving love, and getting accountability are all things that come when we're faithful and obedient to confess to others. Bible says when we fellowship and confess, we will be healed. The brokenness in our minds and hearts gets a smaller grip when we don't let it hide and fester in the dark. Love you! You got this!
