Hell's Rebels and Hell's Vengeance could be run concurrently with two different groups, if you have that many friends - I don't. Each would have opposing adventuring groups in story and IRL that group would be your other group of friends. You could end with an amazing PVP encounter to determine the future of Cheliax . This would be hard to accomplish, but if you could pull it off, it would so bad ass.
Minor quibble - Jade Regent starts in Varisia in the same starting town as Rise of the Runelords. You then go on an epic journey from there to go over the North Pole and then into Tian-Xia. The last two books of the AP are the only ones set in Minkai.
You are absolutely correct. Tian-Xia is pretty underused overall and its a shame the only 1E path that takes you there only spends half of its runtime there.
It would be nice to see the same idea, but with Pathfinder 2e Adventure Paths, as it seems like new people get to know Pathfinder with the second edition. I'd personally be interested to see it as well, because you're doing a good job with these videos.
Coming originally from D&D 5e adventure modules, this has opened my eyes (in Pathfinder first edition standards) of what can be accomplished with this versatility of stories and locations. Love your content, keep it up! Have a stupendous day everyone! Thanks for the vid.
I love Rise of the Runelords and Curse of the Crimson Throne so much as they were my first big adventures as a player and a DM respectively. I will day, one "big" change I made to Crimson that makes the starting part of the adventure more cohesive is the party are all members of the city guard of Korvosa. It changes very little of the plot and helps give the PCs motivation beyond "this is the adventure so we have to follow this path" and when you look at the encounters in Edge of Anarchy, they kinda gear towards a guards background. Dealing with Underworld Kingpins, hunting down body stealing necromancers and possible assassins of king, quelling mobs, chasing down costumed vigilantes and possibly becoming ones themselves, routing deserting Guardsmen? All perfect encounters for a group of doey eyed guards. And then the intro of the Gray Maidens to "replace them" gives good built in antagonistic traits from the start.
I agree completely, the opening of that adventure where the party has to go out and murder a gangster is completely irrelevant, and possibly even thematically at odds with the rest of the adventure.😅
Please, continue with these videos. They were what I was searching a loooong time ago when I first met pathfinder, and even if I need them less nowdays, they're still very insightful and helpful
I must recommend The Price of Immortality, which is made up of 3 modules, Crypt of the Everflame (Dungeon Crawl), Masks of the Living God (Spycraft) and The City of Golden Death (Exploration+Dungeon). The first 2 take place in Nirmathas, with the final adventure taking you to the Isle of Terror. These adventures take the party from level 1 to 7 and are very open ended after completing them, which encourages the GM to build their own adventures to keep the story going. The main focus is Razmir, the Living God and when I ran these adventures to get the party started, we ended up going all the way to level 20 to finally defeat Razmir. These are some of the greatest adventures I have ever run and I would suggest them for any GM, new or experienced.
As a museum piece RPG old stager trying to keep up after decades of recess, I'm seduced by the Pathfinder 2e mechanics and the polished classicism of the Golarion setting. This kind of content is a treat for me. This is brilliant work, by the way! Your channel deserves a big success.
Awesome breakdown. Very helpful for me as a long time player (close to 15 years at this point) but still rather novice GM to get an idea of what's out there and what to sort of expect from the officially released, not "my own original adventure" sort of stuff in the inner sea. ONLY critique is I wish you would have overviewed the level parameters, like "This takes you from 1-20" or "this takes you from 5-15" or something, as my table is well tired of level 1 games starting and ending before we reach the mid game. Otherwise very informative without giving too much away. Thanks for the time it took to make this!
Thanks for the feedback! Pretty much all of the published APs are intended to take you from about 1 - 16 or so. A few go a bit higher, but even if they do, I tend to keep it to that range myself by downscaling enemies in the later part of the AP.
Definitely like to see more of this, and pointing out things like where the AP has issues (like the middle falling out of Carrion Crown), or like Kingmaker where the fan-produced additions to it found on Paizo's forums can make a great AP into an even better one.
Its astonishing that you could have experienced all these APs. Ive managed only to run ROTRL, and CotCT, as well as half of second darkness which ended in a TPK at the third chapter. They've all been mostly very well written, but following an AP dors feel fairly arbitrary for players at times. Mostly my groups have been perfectly happy yo stay on task, but occasionally that feeling of cabin fever sets in.
Some of the APs do require some work on the part of the GM to keep the narrative consistent, but speaking for myself, I've had a lot of success with them.
I have watched this video several times now, you do a great job giving a sense of globalism and interconnectivity between these modules and that makes Golarion feel like a living breathing world. I would love a deeper look into any of your favorite adventure paths or modules!
This is on my list to do, but as adventure recaps will likely be a lot of work, I probably won’t get to this until after my region deep dive series is nearer to completion
I love PF 1e, I'm about to run a Ravenloft game using this system and starting it off with "In search of Sanity" from Strange Aeons and using Thrushmoor more R less as written in the 2nd adventure but by this point the Mists will have already taken Thrushmoor and the surrounding region in the Domains of Dread and the PCs (and a few of their allies) will be scattered throughout the Core and they likely won't realize it but their enemy Count Lowls will be somewhere in the Mists himself. It's awesome to see content from someone whonhas a passion for PF like I do, great video! I always wanted to to link Reign of Winter and Kingmaker by way of moving Kingmaker to Iobaria as an attempt to revive the Ulfen kingdoms whose remnants remain in that region.
amazing job man , i would like and recommand a deep dive and a recap ( with spoilers ) to each of the paths ,like the detailed recap of the story and what happen at the end , would be and amazing content 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
This is a much-requested video idea, and its something I can get to once I've gotten the region deep dives out of the way, as that would be a pretty dense, in-depth video series.
@@TheMythkeeper thanks man , just like the movies/tv shows recap channels do on YT , they give a brief, semi/in depth recap of the story. it would be amazing , especially for the people who cant play all the physical paths . and thank you very much again for all the hard work you do on this channel 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Excellent video, I still have a large chunk of APs to play or GM after we finish Tyrant's Grasp and I will send a link to this video to my home game group so that they can get a good idea of what they want to play next....
paizo really need to reprint the old adventure paths into 2e. i know kingmaker is getting a 2e version and i hope they do that for rise of the runelords and imo tyrants grasp. "what about the lore and timeline placement?" kingmaker i heard mix info on mainly due to for those that playtested it or seen the book before release they are sorta under nda so they cant reveal much. its either A. a reboot that kingmaker takes place around current pathfinder era now or B. its being told as a "legends" story by a chronicler or someone else that knows the events but twist what truly happened. main one is ppl said they updated/changed things to implement stuff from the videogame version too so if played the original and/or video game then things changed enough that it feels like a new adventure to you.
I'm kinda new to pathfinder save for the video games which I believe use the 1E rules but it seems recently tabletop wise people are going more into the 2E system of the game, would it be possible to run the 1E adventure paths using 2E rules since 2E doesn't have as many adventure paths ?
Loving your content. I’ve dabbled in Pathfinder, but only homebrew stuff. You have my respect as a fellow game master because you’ve played so many adventure paths. You’ve inspired me to try them.
Converted Hells Vengeance into PF2 and my players are having a blast being villains. I have plans for them to turn up in later campaigns as antagonists. Love to see you do this for PF2 adventures. I consider Extinction Curse, Agents of Edgewatch and Abomination Vault as the Starstone Isle trilogy and I GM different group going through Extinction Curse now.
While prepping for Tyrant's Grasp, I discovered an interesting link between that AP and the Strange Aeons AP (I did play Strange Aeons as a player instead of my usual GM duties), which then led me to the last book of the Carrion Crown AP (which I only played for a short while before the campaign was dropped by the GM). minor spoilers Below, if you haven't played those APs.... ___________________________ According to the "Continuing the Campaign" part of Book 6 of Carrion Crown, the necromancer Geir discovered the Necronomicon in the Dreamlands, transported it to Golarion, and began to translate it into the Necril language during his quest to become a lich and impress his master. Aware that the Whispering Way forbade passing secrets via anything other than whispers, and paranoid that he would be found out, Geir enhanced the translation with powerful abjuration magic that prevented it from being divined or teleported. He hoped that Tar-Baphon would be impressed enough by the gift of the book to pardon him for this violation. His efforts rewarded him with transformation into a lich in 3751 AR. In 3754 AR, Geir finished the translation just as the Shining Crusade began. He set out to deliver the book by hand to Tar-Baphon, but was ambushed by paladins on the way. The Necronomicon was taken by the paladins, and never reached Tar-Baphon's hands. (h/t to the "Geir" section in the Pathfinder Wiki). Since Tar-Baphon's second defeat and imprisonment within Gallowspire, Geir has served as curator of Ghasterhall, becoming a demi-lich at an unspecified time. Meanwhile, the Necronomicon became the focus of Count Lowles in the Strange Aeons AP and is covered extensively in those books. In Book 1 of Tyrant's Grasp, Paizo has a tantalizing illustration of Geir as a demi-lich on page 78 of the "To Exceed Their Grasp" overview, but oddly enough, neither Geir nor the Necronomicon actually make an appearance in Tyrant's Grasp. _____________________________ Since there is a demilich in Book 6 of Tyrant's Grasp, I am thinking of replacing that demi-lich (named Klrau Adleon) with Geir and have the players discover Geir in the middle of creating another Necronomicon to give to Tar-Baphon, now that he has broken out of his prison. This will provide a nice link between Strange Aeons (which everyone finished about two years ago and really enjoyed) and Tyrant's Grasp. I may make this "new" Necronomicon a threat to be dealt with or maybe a tempting prize with some hidden pitfalls. Haven't made up my mind, but I have a few books to go before I have to decide.....
I’m currently running Mummys Mask as my first GMing experience, and it’s amazing, my players really enjoy the theme! I’m a huge murder mystery/true crime lover and was curious about running carrion crown (Tyrants grasp too cause I knew it followed on). But after seeing that it has elements of mystery like Mummy’s Mask, i think i definitely will have to pick this up afterwards. Please continue making more Pathfinder/Golarion related content, the whole game system and world brings me so much joy and the way you explain things makes things so much clearer 😊
One thing to note on Mummy’s Mask. You might have the adjust some story Details and maybe apply more use out of the other Adventuring parties you get to meet in the books. Doing this will enhance the narrative and the adventure qualities alot more. The Best Solo Adventure to start this adventure off and is abit of a precursor is the Free adventure “Risen from the Sands”. Set in the Same Osirion Region. It’s story is stock. But you can change it up. But basically I used it as a setup to what was to come as this Group of tomb robbers decides to help and investigator plunder the Ruins of an False Pharaoh who tried to Overthrow the Sky Pharaoh. Only for him to buried in an ocean of sand in a glorified monument! Cursed with unlife and insanity! One of the best things about this adventure and “Legacy of fire”. Is that the Desert is vast, huge and dangerous, and you can have all sorts of encounters with Gnolls who use Quicksand spells or traveling Slave merchants taking a path to sell their living stock! Another good recommendation on my list is from Fifth Edition Fantasy called “Raiders of the Lost Oasis”. Basically the party gets captured, taken to a part of an unknown desert called the Glass Sea and is forced to escape, stock up on random equipment to get to the surface to kick some Raider Ass so they can get back everything that Belonged to them! The best kind of Revenge :)
@@danielramsey6141 Thanks for the recommendations! My players are soon to be starting chapter 3 (taking a break from GMing while another player GMs Rise of the Runelords, halfway through chapter 5) and i haven’t run into any problems so far. I made sure to tie the players into Wati, wether it was by their choice of backstory or having key NPCS that they’ll cherish etc. The dog soldiers were really easy to make approachable funny halflings who really love their dogs and beer. One player is romantically involved with Idorii too, so i have no worries about them wanting to come back. Especially when Wati is under attack by the Five pointed Sun. I’m really happy knowing my players are equally excited to jump back into the adventure, and constantly reminisce about funny moments etc. Also will be awarding my players 1 level of Mythic once they have defeated Hakotep. We possibly might want to continue so the players can take on Ulunat (we have a scorpion riding inquisitor who is dead set on having a ‘Kaiju’ battle with it).
To add a bit of detail of ruins of azlant, a big chunk of the adventure goes underwater at some point, including a big atlantis-like city full of merfolk and other variants. water breathing and freedom of movement are most valuable for that campaign. so a bunch of varied rp with aquatic themed races there.
As a DM who loves toying with combat, monsters and loot, but struggle with creating NPCs and Locations, I can absolutely see myself running most of these and simply porting them over to pf2e myself.
Really great video. Would love something similar that breakdown your favorite APs and why. (And why your favorite is, ofc Hell's Rebels, as I'm running it rn myself)
One connection which you did not note is that both 'Rise of the Runelords' and 'Jade Regent' begin in the town of Sandpoint. The minor NPC Ameiko Kaijitsu from RotR plays a major part in JR.
That's absolutely correct sir! There are a few other connections like this - even between fairly remote APs - that are scattered throughout the 1E APs.
It would be interesting to see video(s) like this that also point to some of the PFS encounters and other side material that thread particularly well onto different APs. Running S&S right now, Plunder & Peril is basically a secret 7th book / replacement for book 2 if you dislike the naval rules. Likewise a lot of people sub in 1st book of Serpent's Skull for the shipwreck start rather than pressgang.
It should be noted that Jade Regent could have potential Cameo opportunities from PCs of any Rise of the Runelords games given that it starts in Sandpoint and Ameiko and Shalelu, characters that were present in Rise of the Runelords, are major characters in Jade Regent.
Nice overview, this was exactly what i was looking for , as someone coming from DND ... the days of OGL are over, the days of the ORC have come :D - I am probably gonna run Kingmaker with my group now ... building a kingdom and a player being king sounds fun :D
This is a fantastic video, I feel bad never being able to do one of these back when I was playing PF1e. I'm trying to get into 2e and run my first game, so I'd love a version of this for the 2e adventures, or perhaps some guidance on converting older adventures to 2e.
Great video! I think another lense to look at the APs might be how classic vs novel(IG) they feel, or at least start. But even then you get classic PF (RotRL) vs classic fantasy (Giantslayer?) I'd love your take on the Pf2e APs, for me they seem much more specialised? I guess - other than AoA. QftFF is my favourit so far.
Thanks for the comment! I agree, I could also break down the Adventure Paths by tone or aesthetic. Its a pretty broad setting though and I found there was pretty decent regional alignment between tone. Ie: Giantslayer & Ironfang being kind of similar and the Varisia or the Cheliax books being kind of similar. Would be a very long video if I kept finding new was to slice this content! I will eventually do a video like this for PF2 as well but to be honest I've only made it through Extinction Curse so far so I'll need more time to work through more of the content. I am very much looking forward to Fists of the Ruby Phoenix. That adventure looks like pure fun. I may adapt Jade Regent to 2E and see if I can combine it with Fists for a slightly longer Tian adventure.
@@TheMythkeeper I havent run Fists of the Ruby Phoenix yet, but Book 1&2 read like a fun adventure, but I somewhat bounced off book 3 when reading, but maybe thats just the start.
Jade Regent actually starts in Varisia, specifically in Sandpoint, and the key NPC is one of the major NPCs from the very start of Rise of the Runelords. And while it does end in Tian Xia, about half of the adventure is even getting there, with the players traveling from Varisia, through the Lands of the Linnorm Kings, through the frozen wastes of the north pole at the Crown of the World, before finally reaching the right continent, let alone the right nation. This is the dangerous land route to Tian Xia, as the sea route, normally much safer, would be suicidal, as their far away enemy can command storms at will. Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it was the first Adventure Path I read, and I would absolutely tie it in as a side adventure to the Runelords Trilogy.
@@TheMythkeeper I recently wrote this in a google sheet. Paizo’s 2e releases with Genre and Theme keywords. It might help you do the 4 category thing again maybe. I would also love your suggestions for new keywords docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_vYzHbGuoh4-q_8fzQGasaAEuUIMJ6A9A831ppMWKiM/edit?usp=sharing
As someone discovering Golarion thru the Savage Worlds Pathfinder books, I'm looking at potentially adapting one of the Adventure Paths from first edition that PEGI hasn't tackled yet, for when I'm finished with the Rise of the Runelords campaign. (I have my eye on the Skull and Shackles campaign) That said, I would like to hear your thoughts on the *tone* of the different adventures. Which ones feel more optimistic, which are oppressive, which ones feel more like horror and which ones feel more like an adventure. You dropped some descriptions like that in your overall rundown, but I'd like to see how the adventures compare to each other along those lines. Thanks again for this video, it's a huge help for me in adding context to the adventure paths I have access to at the moment. :)
I will definitely revisit this series (probably to do PF2 adventures or stand-alone modules or pathfinder society adventures) and I'll make sure I give more insight on tone in future as well.
The group I run is getting towards the end of Curse of the Crimson Throne. They have been in Scarwall for a couple days and I'm very excited for them to see what's happened in Korvosa when they eventually return.
I GMed Jade Regent several years back, and it was fantastic. (Fair warning: most of the APs we run and complete take two to three years, playing about 24 sessions a year. Jade Regent was on the long side of that, clocking in at about 37 months.)
Wow! 3 years! That's a long campaign. I guess that makes sense - I average about 40 sessions a year and tend to get through a full AP in about 1.5 years.
Anyone notice that all the second installments in APS are particularly deadly? Skinsaw Murders, Trial of the Beast, Seven Days to the Grave, The Sixfold Trial... these all have one or two spots that wipe extremely unlucky or careless parties.
I believe that might have something to do with the character levels (usually 5th to 7th level) you see in Book 2's of the APs. Levels 5 to 7 are tricky, because your character has just enough HP and abilities to get themselves into serious trouble, but not enough to get themselves out. This is when they start fighting enemies such as ghouls, wraiths, werewolves , etc... , sometimes in coordinated groups. This is also usually the point where they don't have the powerful tools that they'll run across in later books. A lot of Pathfinder 1E involves having the right tool for the job and groups without that gear can be at a severe disadvantage.....
Another great video that ties in nicely with your last video. On a personal note, I wish I could like 1e as a system, but it's just way too much dice and minmax focused to optimize. The sheer combinations of multiclass leveling and mandatory feats to take is just maddening. I'd love to play a number of these adventures in a 2e though!
I hope they update the adventures to 2E too only because there's so much good content here, it would be a shame for it not to get used any more. Maybe I should do a guide to converting adventure paths over to 2E in a future video.
Bro, it's def horror. Giant crawling hands with burning villages and werewolves attacking, skum and husk babies, ancient cthulu beings, vampires, all that is horror my guy lol
If you like political adventures and enjoy horror you might like Vampire the Masquerade as well. This was a very useful summary. I'd love to see something similar with the 2e adventure paths. I don't usually get along well with modules but some of the pathfinder ones genuinely sound fun and I've heard they're generally better written then a lot of other modules are. I might give it a go some time. ......Or do what I usually do and default to throwing something together myself. Because I do love homebrew.
Its all about time management. Invariably all of the adventures I run from the APs veer off into their own direction at some point, so I end up writing a lot of my own story regardless of what I'm running, but using an AP has saved me a _ton_ of time.
Hey MythKeeper, Just found this video and the explaination and detail is excellent. I have a question, I am looking to run an adventure path for my wife alone as a single PC, we have young kids and we havent played for years. It would be easier to run an adventure path rather than homebrew, which i have done previously with Star Wars and Pathfinder. Which of the adventure paths would be a great story and adventure for a single PC? I was originally thinking Skulls and Shackles but i would really like to get your opinion. Cheers in Advance.
Skull & Shackles is a great choice. You might also consider something with a more linear narrative, since part of the fun of a more sandboxy adventure like Shackles is players arguing over what to do next. Something like Carrion Crown is a great option for a more linear adventure that's still a lot of fun.
@@TheMythkeeper Cheers for the advice. Another question, what would you consider changing for a campaign with a single PC. I've seen arguments for both starting players at a higher level and lowering the CR of an encounter. I have my own idea but I would like to hear your opinion.
2 videos and i watched every minute, deciding on trying Pathfinder and i am about decided on yes. Alot in thanks to your videos. Very concise and very sharp presentation MythKeeper. earned a sub for sure! keep it up P(^0^)p
Also, sorry to be a pest, but have you played much Starfinder? And if so, would you consider making some videos on the game? These lore deep-dives and adventure path breakdowns are really useful and would help making a decision on what to buy a lot easier
I have played some Starfinder, and I suspect once I get through a lot of the PF lore I want to get through I will do some Starfinder content too. Stay tuned. 🙂
If you could do something like this for 2e adventure paths that would be awesome 👌 Been hunting high and low and nowhere on RUclips can i find the info I need in one single video
I’m curious because my favorite part of the Kingmaker computer game was the stuff involving the First World and the Fae, are there more adventure paths that deal with that sort of stuff that could be run?
Most of the aventure paths feature some level of First World interactions, but few make that the center of the story. You may want to try some of the standalone adventures, I know some deal with the fae more directly there. That's all I've got off the top of my head for now!
There's no other video like this in RUclips, amazing content. There's a high -res map of Golarion with the location of all APs, including some 2e ones, which could complement this video. Search for: Inner Sea map with all adventure path locations : r/Pathfinder2e
It’s so weird cause Varisia is where i played first, but it was Brevoy and Mendev and Numeria and the River kingdoms that really captured my imagination. The crusades! The sword lords! Whatever the hell the Conan guys are doing to the space ship junk today! Golarion rules
Haha! I've just put the finishing touches on a Deep Dive video about Numeria and I was just trying to answer the question of what those Conan guys were doing with all that spaceship junk.
@@TheMythkeeper somebody’s gotta figure it out!!! I feel like they aren’t responsible enough to be trusted with all the radioactive laser guns honestly!
I'm currently running a 2e conversion of Mummy's Mask and Ruins of Azlant. I highly highly recommend both though I'm not finished them yet. I also really liked all the lore Tyrant's Grasp exposed my players to, but maybe not as their first game haha (oops)
It's true Tyrant's Grasp is a great campaign to build towards but probably a challenging one to start with! It worked really well for my group as a culmination of various adventures.
@@TheMythkeeper Hell yeah! I mean there are probably conversion charts made seeing as only encounters and DCs need adjustment, but it’d be nice. In Paizo’s end, it’s printing money!
@@TheMythkeeper That would be really great! While the two leftover 3.5 ones would most benefit from an update (since it would also come with a 3.5 conversion), I really just want to see some of the big ones converted. The Runelords Trilogy, Crimson Throne, Wrath, Skulls & Shackles, War for the Crown, Carrion Crown + Tyrant's Grasp. Maybe throw in Reign of Winter, more people should experience that wild ride. And at the same time, I would _love_ official PF1 conversion books for each of the PF2 APs! Those shouldn't be too much work, just a bunch of stat fiddling, mostly.
someone help, which Adventure Path do you recommend for First Time Pathfinder 2e ? I'm gonna be the DM which is the scariest part (Dyslexia) 😂 and we have only played D&D 5e
If your players haven't played the Kingmaker computer game, that's a great AP and the full-sized second-edition treatment is really cool. Not a bad way to start.
@@TheMythkeeper Have not, I will look in to that 👍 I don't think any of my player's have played that. I had this amazing idea 2017 where I ran D&D 5e to my friends and started longer campaign with "the good players" 😏 and then after while I offered if someone else wanted to try to be DM and sweet talked them trying it 😂 2 out of 10 people are now DMs for me 👍 not bad way to handle "DM Forever" and now I'm gonna do it again with Pathfinder 2e if I like it 🤤
The 2e AP guide gets requested so often, that I think the 2e one will by in July so it syncs up with my 1-year on RUclips marker. I'll make it a celebratory video!
@@TheMythkeeper Awesome. Even just a place where there's all the adventure by starting level would be nice. You'd be surprised how little collated and easily referenced info there is on adventures for P2E.
I'd love to see 2e get this treatment.
100% personally, as a wotc refugee, I'd like to start with pf2e's first adventure path and move forward from there.
@@antifapup I actually just started Age of Ashes as a GM. Players are 5 sessions in and really digging it by all accounts.
Wholeheartedly seconded.
Agreed here! You are doing fabulous and I can't wait to see more content. ^^
@@sjwarhammer4039 I've ran Age of Ashes and been a player in it. It's an awesome AP. ^^
The best reason for becoming a Lich is having enough time to play through all these fabulous adventure paths you didn't manage in one lifetime!
Dice box phylactery?
There's something very satisfying about seeing each of the adventure paths together on a map like this.
Thank you! I felt that too when putting this together.
Yeah, I think Paizo, or anyone producing this sort of content, would be wise to provide this sort of additional context to potential customers.
This would be a great idea! Running two games concurrently would also be a ton of work though 😅
It would be amazing running this with the same group on alternating weeks as well :D
The benefit is you can go to Jade Regent or Shattered Star after Rise of the Runelords.
It would be nice to see the same idea, but with Pathfinder 2e Adventure Paths, as it seems like new people get to know Pathfinder with the second edition. I'd personally be interested to see it as well, because you're doing a good job with these videos.
As a complete PF noob, this was very informative. Thank you very much for your time and effort👍
Great video! I would love to see a sequal dealing with second edition's adventure paths.
In the works!
I definitely want to do a guide to the Stand-alone Modules as well some day, including ones like this that can be strung together to form a pseudo-AP.
This was incredible and informative! Thank you so much for making Pathfinder 1E content!
No problem! Any time!
As a museum piece RPG old stager trying to keep up after decades of recess, I'm seduced by the Pathfinder 2e mechanics and the polished classicism of the Golarion setting. This kind of content is a treat for me.
This is brilliant work, by the way! Your channel deserves a big success.
Great video. Nice summation. I would love a Pf2E adventure paths version.
this was actually a big help in deciding what i want to run for my first proper pathfinder adventure path, ty mr Keeper
Glad to help!
It should be noted that two-thirds of Reign of Winter takes place away from the Inner Sea region, with half of it taking place off Golarion itself.
That is totally true.
Extremely good rundown!
I loved this. As someone who has spent most of their life in faerun, a breakdown like this is super helpful.
You're welcome! Glad to be of use.
Thank you for this wonderful and detailed overview! Really helped me select a path to run with my group
You're very welcome!
I love this video. Excellent. Exactly what I was looking for.
Wow very good and detailed content! ❤
@@TheMythkeeper Amazing and understandable, I will stay tuned in!
Just recently found your channel, subscribed and I'll be making my way through your back catalogue.
Great video, thank you! I was really looking for something like this and I couldn't find much at all. Next do PF2 adventure paths, please! :)
Check out my Ustalav deep dive if you haven't already. Might be useful if you're running Strange Aeons.
@@TheMythkeeper will do
Awesome and informative content; thank you very much!
amazing job man , i would like and recommand a deep dive and a recap ( with spoilers ) to each of the paths ,like the detailed recap of the story and what happen at the end , would be and amazing content 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Thanks for sharing!
paizo really need to reprint the old adventure paths into 2e. i know kingmaker is getting a 2e version and i hope they do that for rise of the runelords and imo tyrants grasp.
I like the idea of calling them 'legends' and just keeping them largely as-is, except for the crunch updates.
I'm kinda new to pathfinder save for the video games which I believe use the 1E rules but it seems recently tabletop wise people are going more into the 2E system of the game, would it be possible to run the 1E adventure paths using 2E rules since 2E doesn't have as many adventure paths ?
This is excactly the information I wanted. Top 1%. Thank you so much!
You are very welcome!
Dude, keep the good work here, I am eager to start my new campaign in PF2E and your channel is a bless. Suscribed!
I enjoy your content, I would love to see similar coverage for 2e!
I have some Absalom videos coming up and I agree with you. Those adventures can all easily be connected into a trilogy.
___________________________
According to the "Continuing the Campaign" part of Book 6 of Carrion Crown, the necromancer Geir discovered the Necronomicon in the Dreamlands, transported it to Golarion, and began to translate it into the Necril language during his quest to become a lich and impress his master.
_____________________________
Since there is a demilich in Book 6 of Tyrant's Grasp, I am thinking of replacing that demi-lich (named Klrau Adleon) with Geir and have the players discover Geir in the middle of creating another Necronomicon to give to Tar-Baphon, now that he has broken out of his prison.
This is awesome! Thanks for the pointing this out.
Great choice! Carrion Crown is a really great adventure path. Some of my fondest Pathfinder memories were from that game.
Love you stuff!
Thanks!
To add a bit of detail of ruins of azlant, a big chunk of the adventure goes underwater at some point, including a big atlantis-like city full of merfolk and other variants. water breathing and freedom of movement are most valuable for that campaign. so a bunch of varied rp with aquatic themed races there.
Thanks for sharing. Eventually I'll get around to playing that one too.
As a DM who loves toying with combat, monsters and loot, but struggle with creating NPCs and Locations, I can absolutely see myself running most of these and simply porting them over to pf2e myself.
Its years of pre-built stories for you to mine. Highly reccomend!
Really great video. Would love something similar that breakdown your favorite APs and why. (And why your favorite is, ofc Hell's Rebels, as I'm running it rn myself)
Such an amazing video, from a great channel! Keep up the good work! (I have already watched this 4 times :) )
Wow, thanks!
Loved the run down, and definitely want to see the same review for PF2e
It would be interesting to see video(s) like this that also point to some of the PFS encounters and other side material that thread particularly well onto different APs.
Running S&S right now, Plunder & Peril is basically a secret 7th book / replacement for book 2 if you dislike the naval rules. Likewise a lot of people sub in 1st book of Serpent's Skull for the shipwreck start rather than pressgang.
I'm starting to do this in my Regional Deep Dives. Watch my Western Mwangi Expanse video if you're currently running S&S!
It should be noted that Jade Regent could have potential Cameo opportunities from PCs of any Rise of the Runelords games given that it starts in Sandpoint and Ameiko and Shalelu, characters that were present in Rise of the Runelords, are major characters in Jade Regent.
Good point!
Nice overview, this was exactly what i was looking for , as someone coming from DND ... the days of OGL are over, the days of the ORC have come :D
- I am probably gonna run Kingmaker with my group now ... building a kingdom and a player being king sounds fun :D
Its a great adventure! Highly recommend!
Great vid. Underrated channel.
I appreciate that!
This is a fantastic video, I feel bad never being able to do one of these back when I was playing PF1e. I'm trying to get into 2e and run my first game, so I'd love a version of this for the 2e adventures, or perhaps some guidance on converting older adventures to 2e.
I will get around to a 2E adventure guide, its been requested now a few times.
Great video! I think another lense to look at the APs might be how classic vs novel(IG) they feel, or at least start. But even then you get classic PF (RotRL) vs classic fantasy (Giantslayer?)
I'd love your take on the Pf2e APs, for me they seem much more specialised?
@@TheMythkeeper I havent run Fists of the Ruby Phoenix yet, but Book 1&2 read like a fun adventure, but I somewhat bounced off book 3 when reading, but maybe thats just the start.
yay for all that, especially PF2 APs!
This video is excellent!!! Thanks a lot!!
You are welcome!
Yeah that's a fair point, I should have been more detail on this.
Resurrecting the other requests here regarding 2nd edition APs! It would be such a good help
Thank you for the reminder. Putting this back on the list. It will happen in 2024, just a matter of when!
@@TheMythkeeper I recently wrote this in a google sheet. Paizo’s 2e releases with Genre and Theme keywords. It might help you do the 4 category thing again maybe. I would also love your suggestions for new keywords

I have run hells vengeance, and giant slayer as well as played the iron fang invasion. They are all great
This video was super helpful and if possible I would like to suggest a updated version of this video.
I plan to do a 2E version of this to release at start of year 2025
Awesome!
Very helpful. Thanks! More detailed reviews would be helpful as well.
As someone discovering Golarion thru the Savage Worlds Pathfinder books, I'm looking at potentially adapting one of the Adventure Paths from first edition that PEGI hasn't tackled yet, for when I'm finished with the Rise of the Runelords campaign. (I have my eye on the Skull and Shackles campaign)
That said, I would like to hear your thoughts on the *tone* of the different adventures.
Love your channel
Thank you!
The group I run is getting towards the end of Curse of the Crimson Throne. They have been in Scarwall for a couple days and I'm very excited for them to see what's happened in Korvosa when they eventually return.
I have a group in the _exact_ same spot. We just got back from Scarwall and we are 2 sessions in to the final book.
@@TheMythkeeper my players really liked Ishani so it will be a enjoyable reunion haha.
Excellent video
Thank you very much!
This was amazing. Thank you
Great video.
@@TheMythkeeper I'd watch and like the content if you did that
@@introneurotic Haha! Awesome, its on the queue.
Like suggested in my reply, try "A Series of Diced-Based Events", alot of the conversion are there and of great quality.
Bro, it's def horror. Giant crawling hands with burning villages and werewolves attacking, skum and husk babies, ancient cthulu beings, vampires, all that is horror my guy lol
Very helpful
Obrigado. Esse vídeo ajudou bastante.
Please give us a 2e version! This was awesome, hoping to be able to convert RoW to 2e
That's something I'm definitely on planning on doing eventually!
Thanks so much that means a lot!
Stay tuned. 🙂

If you could do something like this for 2e adventure paths that would be awesome 👌

That is coming... eventually!
@@TheMythkeeper You are a river to your people🙏 🙇
Are these available on Sega Genesis?
These are available in pen and paper. 😆
What are the "Isle of Dread Adventures" you mention? Ist there a connection between the PF APs and X1/Savage Tide?
No connection - I'm referring to adventures set around this area of the PF world - pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Eye_of_Dread
There's no other video like this in RUclips, amazing content. There's a high -res map of Golarion with the location of all APs, including some 2e ones, which could complement this video.
Search for:

Thanks so much for sharing!
I also would love to see the same treatment for 2E
@@TheMythkeeper I mean hey, it worked. They learned the basics quick, even the ones who joined late. They're the ones doing Mummy's Mask now

Here’s hoping Wrath of the Righteous gets the Kingmaker treatment
I know I'm asking too much but I'd love to see them slowly update their entire catalogue to 2E large format!

Please do 2e, and maybe a PF1e adventure path tierlist?
The 2e AP guide gets requested so often, that I think the 2e one will by in July so it syncs up with my 1-year on RUclips marker. I'll make it a celebratory video!
Can you do a second edition version of this?
Yeah that's on my list.
Can you do an in depth factions guide?
After ancestries and religions, this will happen. 🙂
What if you combined Hell's Rebels and Hell's Vengance, to make a team PvP campain?
Sounds like a great idea
Can you do this for 2e as they are released?
This is my most requested video, but it’s going to be a minute because I have a lot of other planned content to get through first!
@@TheMythkeeper Awesome. Even just a place where there's all the adventure by starting level would be nice. You'd be surprised how little collated and easily referenced info there is on adventures for P2E.
