I wonder if it matters if the company is family owned and run? Are owner/operators more or less likely to spot and encourage innovation due to a personal history with a brand, or is it just that an owner is aware because of proximity to the project? My early guess is that owners would be better at spotting potential avenues of innovation than boards of directors, but I may just be being romantic here. Should be a measurable phenomenon though. Anyway, cracking start to an exploration of these subtle influences. Well done, and I look forward to the next ones.
