At the time I was wearing long pajamas, just like the choristers. I loved to dance with. In 2017 I am a born again Christian. Amen God had to wait for me 55 years. He has that much patience with us. Philippians 2:12 says work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. I understand you want to see your husband saved but we have to be saved for ourselves. I heard songs like this and while the worship touched my heart, and the preaching helped to change my life ... It was how they lived that kept me. For the first time in my life, I felt real love. These brothers and sisters are not just singing these words, they are living them.
Must be getting old, I miss the revival songs the tent meetings this flows to the very throne of God. Every generation feels this way. God is our all in all in JESUS name.
You’re not getting old. I consider myself young (30yr old) and these are the songs I was raised on. They are still my favorite. These songs have meaning & cause you to think of WHO you are worshipping & why. The new music does not. God help us if we don’t find our way back to true worship.
Instead of protests and civil right demonstrations, why don’t we just have church? Black gospel is the greatest form of worship music and the black community has an incredible history of worship. Let’s celebrate that history by lifting up the name of Jesus. I’d love to see a street service in the wake of a tragedy instead of rioting and looting.

You are so right Harry and I understand what you are saying. These modern day worship songs got real lyrics but the name of Jesus is left out and therefore they are powerless. No longer is anyone receiving the Holy Ghost while song service is going on.
