I had to laugh at the "whole lot of manual labour " which took 3 mins maximum. Your not a Printer unless you ever got ink under your nails on a real press, and he's never done that. Nice digital press I guess but quality still not at offset quality and toner costs are a killer on runs over 1000.
Offset obsolete already, the cost and time of making films, plates, chemicals and inks are not cheap either and you can’t find a pressman who wants to get dirty any more.
