History of RAF Wethersfield

The history of RAF Wethersfield from creation in 1942 to present day, this film is an introduction to a visit to the museum which is by appointment only. Contact can be made through the RAF Wethersfield Facebook Page.
RAF Wethersfield was home to several USAF units over a 46 year period.
The conception and creation of this film is the work of Chelsea Peer who spent 16 days on a USA University field trip to study American impact on the local community in WW2.
The Wethersfield Museum is grateful to Chelsea for the time and effort given to produce this film.

I was at RAF Wethersfield for 2 years when my Dad, Jack Clay, was stationed there, end of 1979 to mid 1981. I loved my time there as a kid. Busing to school at RAF Lakenheath. i still think about my fiends back then, Lisa, David, Dave, Alvin and many others. Enjoyed going to the village for the May Day celebration. Great memories...

My father was ncoic at the base Chappell 64-67.My brother and sisters went to St.Francis school in Braintree. We lived at Little Bardfield Hall,and Park hall farm in Gosfield before moving on base at488c Scott ave.
