We were in Albufeira in /23 and decided to drive to Villa Real' and then take the foot ferry over to Ayamonte. But we didn't make the correct turn and ended up going over there bridge to Spain and drove into ayamonte instead. Totally unplanned. It was a Sunday or it might have been siesta on a Sunday... Not sure, but EVERYTHING was closed. We were very disappointed. Got to do a walkabout at the waterfront and did alot of window shopping. It was pleasant but even the eateries were either closed or didn't look appetizing enough I can't remember. We were starving. We ended up going to Ikea on the way back just to check out Ikea in Portugal. This was in March so off season as well perhaps. Thankfully we went back to enjoy tapas at the marina in Albufeira. Coincidentally our Airbnb's was in the same complex. We really enjoyed our first time at this eatery a couple days before that's why we attempted to get to Ayamonte on the foot ferry in the first place. For the tapas It was a year later that we actually got to Malaga to eat tapas for 3 weeks. Never did get to Villa Real'
Very nice town. Looks like beautiful weather too.
We have a cold front coming through right now and feels like -1 F. 🥶🥶
The weather was gorgeous! Stay warm!!! Come back to warm Portugal! 😍

You will have to come back! But yes, everything is closed on Sunday (Catholic country) so make sure you are here on any other day! 😍
