i agree with you, but... it saying "cannot be resisted or blocked" only really applies to the chance of it removing buffs (making it 100%), SS being its own little 50/50 strip property is probably coded differently where its a completely different property than it being tied to resistance. If it doesnt specfically say mention SS in the ability description, assume it wont 100% strip it. To be fair, the descriptions dont always completely match the actual ability effect This is a 100% SS issue, not the champion's
i do agree that his a3 multiplier does need to be higher, especially if its only a 1 time attack compared to konstanstine's 2 hitter, which also has a higher mutli
I can understand where you’re coming from but I disagree that it isn’t a champion issue. To me, you can’t write that his A2 has an unresistable and unblockable buff strip and then it gets blocked. I could understand protected buffs overruling that but Stoneskin is not a protected buff. It can be stripped normally and it should be a 100% chance to be stripped by Quintus. Otherwise the champion is absolute trash and Live Arena is completely pointless.

Plarium's descriptions really aren't the best, some of them are either super confusing or doesn't tell the full picture. In this case, I dont think plarium's definition of blocked correlates to yours exactly. They probs meant it in terms of it going through block debuffs, not through the 50/50 stoneskin mechanic (IMO is a dumb mechanic), or otherwise they would have to explicitely state that it does go through unique mechanics like SS or Protected buffs as it is a completely separate property. Take georgid for example and his descriptions
It's like Alill or however the Void sylvan watcher is spelled. His a1 says basically the same but it's still a 50/50 because stone skin has a higher priority.
The problem is not with his skill but with a property of Stoneskin which has a 50% chance to not be stripped when a skill attempts to strip it. The only thing they advertised is that it can irresistibly strip REGULAR BUFFS, not special condition buffs like Stoneskin or Protected buffs. They did not write it as his skill is guaranteed to remove any buffs. Again, the problem is that particular property of Stoneskin and not the function of Quintus' skill. It's exactly like there is nothing in the game that can stop Polymorph from applying when it triggers, in the same way Stoneskin will always only have a 50% chance to be stripped REGARDLESS OF CHAMPION MECHANICS.
Bro read his skill. It says UNBLOCKABLE. Not unblockable by everything but Stoneskin. Just unblockable and unresistable. In what world would anyone take that to mean the skill is in fact NOT unblockable? I mean this is basic reading comprehension here. It's fight with windmills. Back in the day I was complaining on devs with Drokgul's A3 in scarab combat, where A3 says, that when the shield is broken by attack or stripped, ally counterattacks. And when it happened, scarab did CA also and because you had no shield, you get provoked. I said to devs, that this is counterattack against counterattack and they said it works as intended.
I was just talking about “standardized language” in a hospital setting where a diagnosis should mean the same thing no matter what hospital you are in. Raid needs some standardized language. Stone skin says 50% chance to “block” removals. Quintus says cannot be blocked. Block should mean the same thing no matter where it is in the game.

God I hope not. I hate that they added a champion that can directly Sheep someone. It’s the most insanely powerful debuff in the game and is way too OP. My guess is it goes right through Stoneskin since that’s how it works currently when someone gets Polymorphed in Arena.

To keep it one to one with the effect. Removes all buffs and doesn't care about enemy's resistance (cannot be resisted) and any weird future effect (I cannot think any champ that blocks these types of effects) (i.e their version of cannot be blocked) however stoneskin doesn't say it blocks enemy strips. Instead it says there is a pure chance of 50% to not be removed at all and 50% chance to be removed. If the second applies then the champion in stoneskin might attempt to resist the strip either with high resistance or with the general 3% chance all champs have regardless of resistance. So, stoneskin is a pure casino buff. On the bright side, Quintus is Ur best bet of removing stoneskin as it is pure 50% to remove whereas other strip effects need to have high accuracy and the target might still resist because of the 3% chance we all know about
I’m gonna be real with you my man; I’m low key happy it doesn’t strip SS 100%. SS is a good equalizer for us low spender to f2p’s to have a RNG chance to even compete. You have Georgid, you have Ailil, bombs, Madam douche-bag, and many strippers who have a good chance of getting through SS. Just let it be. You’re at the top of the mountain my dude! no. he should remove SS everytime. he is a pain to get and only....5% of players will get him. other buff strippers still have to deal with the 50/50 quintus should remove anything 100% as it's single target as well
I can understand why you might feel that way but hear me out. This champion is absolute trash and is meant to be the ultimate reward for grinding Live Arena. He needs to be better or what’s the point? Having him strip SS won’t affect you as a low spender/F2P because chances are you won’t be able to get him for a long time if at all, (which sucks but that’s a whole different topic) and even if you do you’re not going to compete in high level arena without spending a lot more. In high level arena it has become a NIGHTMARE every week to deal with UDK teams which are almost the entire top 50. This champ on paper sounds like he counters that and that’s why it’s such a massive disappointment that he doesn’t actually do what he says he will do especially after you work so hard to get him. They’ve got to change his skill set.

I feel like they gave us UDK to deal with Rotos(the GOAT) because let’s be real, Siphi/Rotos was the Taras/Marichka back about 6 months ago. That created balance. SS was for those who maybe couldn’t compete with the ridiculous amount of ‘go-first’/insta-nuke teams. And then they made bombs do 400% damage. That created balance. Then along comes the Mighty Ukko’s who pretty much make SS a joke. Oh, and let’s not even talk about Georgid. But even he has balance in his passive. I went against a two man team in regular arena with +4Nekhret and +4Tara’s and I thought it would be a breeze. I had Dutches, Nekhret, Baron, Fahrakin the fat in SS. Needless to say it took me 3 tries. Now we can argue that my team was built poorly but; I’d argue that some champs could be rebalanced. I’m really grateful for the video and I appreciate the Vlad/Konstantine that you also delivered on. We just disagree and that’s okay! Keep making those epic video my dude and thanks again.

its the same thing with harima. her a3 says that demonspawn cant block or resist her provoke... but it gets blocked with stoneskin. i wish there was a note that said "except by stoneskin" just for clarification.
I mean the note is just the fact that you can't get debuffed while in stone skin no matter what (aside from bombs/hp burn). I understand what drock is saying in the video, but in plariums eyes, having a guaranteed strip doesn't necessarily apply to stone skin. As it stands, guaranteed strip just means you don't need accuracy, BUT stone skin is always a 50/50 chance at removal.
@@realscoobsStoneskin is a buff so it counts as a buff that can be removed. It should be a 100% for champions who's skills says "cannot be blocked or resisted".

Amazing showcase, and congratulations for getting quintus. But i want to say, i dont think that it should always strip stoneskin (even because maybe he would be way too strong). Maybe the description of the skill is not totally clear, but i think it should be read in this way: decrese defenese cannot be blocked or resisted, and the buff strip cannot be resisted. The stoneskin buff, always has a 50 percent chance of completely negating the effect, and it's on top of everything. But if you get lucky and you get the chance to remove it, for sure you will do it, because quintus doesn't need accuracy for that (because the effect is irresistible). Honestly, when more players will be able to get him, i thin he will be present in 90 per cent of the teams, cause i think he is a beast.

Its not surprising that it can fail on SS. Can't be resisted on skills has always meant it ignores the interactions of acc and res. Can't be blocked has always referred to the fact it will place the debuff through block debuffs, this portion refers to placing the decrease defense. SS 50% fail rate is independent of the acc/res interactions. Basically its working exactly as I thought it would by reading his kit and looks to be working as intended. This guys strength is taking out buff heavy teams. Think siphi Marichka teams. His passive alone against a siphi buffed team deals 30% of each targets health as pure dmg and ignores shields. I would of rather seen how he operates in this regard.
I think it’s extremely poorly worded. If I read something that says unblockable I am going to take it at face value that the skill will do what it says it will do. Stoneskin should be stripped as it’s not a protected buff and can be stripped by other skills. The wording would indicate that it should be stripped by something that is unblockable. Not stripping Stoneskin makes Quintus extremely underwhelming. Just look at Wu Kong. He can Polymorph through Stoneskin no problem and he’s a free champ. So why can’t Quintus strip it? Makes zero sense.
@@bigpoppadrockrsl SS can be stripped, it's also always had its own 50/50 succeed or fail outside of resistance. Also polymorph has always gone through SS. And with Wukong he has an acc check, so there's counter play. Plarium could always word things better but everything is working within existing game mechanics.

If I am honest, the a2 sounds that doesn't need acc & block-buffs, but doesn't bypass the passive ability of a whole set. He's a counter harima/Ukranians
The problem is almost every Plat team uses UDK so it sucks to not be able to counter him directly. He’s still got a good chance to get Polymorphed anyway but as it stands now you’re almost never going to pick this champion over anyone else which is unacceptable considering how hard he is to get.
i figured you were gonna talk about how Quintus is a sheep all the time because you can't even build low acc to avoid it but not stripping the one buff you need it to strip is dumb and the wording of the A2 and stoneskin makes it seem like it's a bug but they won't change it.
Cool vid, glad to see Quintus in action. Agree i should strip it, even if stoneskin itself says 50/50. Like you say, this is a top end champ, the hardest champ to aquire imo. Therefore he either needs to have mind blowing multpliers in ever skill OR actually strip all buffs.

Thanks for the showcase. I hope that it is a bug and that it will be fixed soon with the Emic Bug. Because it really sucks to meet all the stoneskinn heroes with the defending heroes in the arena. Speed nukkers don't have it easy. so Plarium should think along with it

I feel they will change this once more ppl have access to it because yes if his sp2 strips stoneskin 100% of the time it’s a real game changer which for anyone below 4K it would be that much harder to hit it if most your opponents are that 1% above 4K and they are using him. I see a patch on him in future but I don’t feel they are gonna rush on it
Lol you're not stupid, at 10:38 you see the "Debuff Blocked" text above Mortu's head, because the strip and decrease def should have happened on Mortu before UDK changed the target of Quintus's actual hit, much like Geo's A2 that strips before his hit.
it is one of those champs you can have only one copy of and his kit should be unique but doesnt work… probably another fortus. they just say they couldn’t charge more for him but people pulling 10.000 of dollars to get him. ian so sad they couldn’t charge a million dollar per user on him.

More of a problem with stoneskin. And the new accessories will just make it worse. Pvp has too much crap that makes it far less enjoyable and you lose pvp due to RNG all the damn time. I even build my strippers with 300 resist to avoid sheep from duchess udk etc but you still get sheeped and lose on the spot. It's all to frustrate you and waste your time so you buy more stuff. Should be able to strip stoneskin it shouldn't be a 50/50. Thanks for showing him off, I'll never get him so was cool to see him in action.
I would say the game is pretty much working as intended here. They I think make it pretty clear in many places that skills and artifacts are two separate entities essentially and that they have different procs and chances then the skills/abilities they effect. So his strip is working as intended but, after that strip is complete it goes through stone skins proc chance. To have a single champ completely break a whole sets purpose would be silly right?
I disagree. Look at Georgid. He ignores Stoneskin entirely. Has that broken the game? Nope. Quintus is the ultimate achievement at the moment for Live Arena, a mode that requires a stacked roster, strong strategy, and a massive grind. He has to be a decent champion or what’s the point? Having him strip Stoneskin won’t destroy anything but will instead allow a new meta to form in high level arena which is desperately needed. Look at the Top 50 teams at Plat reset. It’s all the same champs and it’s been like that for close to 9 months. It’s killing the game and needs to change. Making Quintus do what his skill set says it does would be a huge incentive to play Live Arena and mix up an insanely stale Meta.
@bigpoppadrockrsl I see you're point but just playing devils advocate here where Georgid's skill is to straight ignore those things, Quintus is the utility of removing the buffs and Stoneskin (having separate chances to skills) specifically blocks removals and strips 50% of the time, thats what breaks it I think. It also leaves them no room in the future to maybe make a new different functioning buff. And absolutely he should not be that hard to obtain for what they have framed him to be, but that is a product of the creature they and their consumers have created and I think you've acknowledged that. The only real hope to ease his achievement is that the Live Arena pool gets bigger I think which will happen over time.

The A2 is worded correctly. It does exactly what it says it does. Stoneskin says it has a 50% chance to block being dispelled . So it’s similar to protected buffs.
His skill clearly states it’s unblockable. Reading that would imply it should syrup Stoneskin since it says it strips all buffs. Otherwise the champion is pointless. Not working as intended.
Pretty cool champ, no way I'll ever get him. It makes sense that the A2 is still 50/50. That roll is done after the acc/res check. You're always winning that check, it's just the 50/50 comes after.
Ailil has the same problem with his unresistable buff strip. It's just random whether it steals the stone skin buff. And I don't even know what the deciding factor is for whether or not it does. Just typical plarium nonsense. Anyway, thanks for the showcase!
Thanks for watching! And yeah it's similar with Ailil but I figured since Quintus is supposed to be unblockable you would imagine that he would actually strip the buffs he is supposed to strip.
So he does good damage for sure with all the ascensions at least on the A1 and A2 but he still has the same problem as before without a guaranteed stoneskin strip. Even worse now really because more and more Nukers are built in Stoneskin and Polymorph.
Why did you think it would work against some protected buffs and not against others? SS is just a protected buff with a 50/50 chance, just like a random buff with lightening cage. Buff strips dont get "blocked".It refers to the debuff getting BLOCKED by BLOCK debuffs buff. I was never under the assumption that it would always work against stoneskin or any other protected buffs @bigpoppadrockrsl whether he's good or bad is another discussion but the skill seems to work exactly like it reads.
Stoneskin is NOT a protected buff. Do you see the yellow border around it? Nope. Look at Sun Wukong’s A2 for example. Says it can’t be blocked and goes right through Stoneskin. The inconsistency is the issue. If you write a skill as UNBLOCKABLE then it should actually be UNBLOCKABLE. And buff strips absolutely get blocked. You can see in that Plarium’s wording in the past regarding how Stoneskin works. They’ve referred to it as blocking strips at a 50% rate. Again, an unblockable skill should negate this. The skill does not work as it is written whatsoever.
same pporblem with valkanen. and you can get polimorph with the decrease defense of this champ and the fear of valkanen. they got the same problems. shit i was so hype with my valkanen but polimorph es a big problem to him hahah
the a2 is coded that you dont need resistance. You will strip every buffs on the enemy. BUT stoneskin has a 50% chance NOT to be remove.. this is not Quintus issue. The issue is that this game is all about gamble. 3%, weak hits, stoneskins, ecc
My point is that if a skill says it’s unblockable or unresistable then it should actually be unblockable. Currently his buff strip is blockable and that makes zero sense with how it is written. Stoneskin normally has only a 50% chance to block a removal. Quintus is supposed to have a 100% to not get blocked on a buff strip at all. The math doesn’t add up if you see what I mean.

Its a real shame about the a2. Even though the a3 does not hit super hard the rest of the kit is great if the a2 worked properly. Deeply disappointed that it does not. I dont find the inability to strip Stoneskin surprising; there are plenty of skills which cant be resisted or blocked (like Taras fear for example) which are still blocked by Stoneskin. This doesnt have anything to do w/ the skill, it has to do w/ how Stoneskin works. Just like how he doesnt strip bolster or protected buffs.
Taras’ irresistible fear actually isn’t blocked by Stoneskin initially. It goes through which is what leads him to getting sheeped constantly by high level players with Duches or Siphi in SS. The level of inconsistency with Stoneskin is extremely frustrating from an Arena player perspective. It’s way OP and should be strippable by a skill that says it’s unblockable. Just makes zero sense.

Well yes the devs said many times that stone skin is ALWAYS 50/50 to strip. It is frustrating but imagine how hard is it to get good stoneskin gear to then get it stripped 24/7?
It makes no sense. It’s harder to get Quintus by far than it is to get Stoneskin gear. He absolutely should strip it when his skill says it’s unblockable. It’s confusing otherwise and makes him just another champion.
He’s the only champ that strips buffs with an unblockable modifier. No one else has that on their skill list. His clearly states unblockable. Kymar doesn’t. Rian doesn’t. Sethallia doesn’t. No one else is unblockable. I think that makes it clear he should strip Stoneskin based on how his skill is currently written.

I think the whole idea with this guy is to counter taras and heavy buffs team, not to specifically take out udk. Plus stoneskin is the strongest buff in the game so unless it says it ignores it nothing should work against stoneskins rules. But that being said he is still very weak indeed and Plarium should take a look at him. Maybe they should add ignore stoneskin on his a2 and maybe buff the a3 straight multiplier.
We need a real UDK counter and this guy should be it. As it stands now he’s trash. His A3 hits like a wet noodle and his A2 doesn’t do the 1 thing it says it does: strip all buffs no matter the resistance in an unblockable fashion. It’s such a massive disappointment to work this hard to get a champ that is close to useless.
Big Poppa the game has threshold capacities placed on gear and ascension and empowerment as you spend more resources. even full assention has application protocols ingame and arena relation to chance of debuff as per boss lvl resistance ...Maybe its the resistance sorry buddy. good show
I've seen this so many times. People assume they know what an abilities does by HOPING they're reading it the right way. But when has Plarium surprised us in a good way unless the ability specifically says it does what you hope it does? I mean they specifically said Georgid ignores Stoneskin. Why wouldn't you think that's what they would put down if that's how the ability works. Hope is a painful thing man.

TBH i agree with you 100% in most of the cases. But in stone skin description in game they use words '50% chance of blocking removals or steals'. In skill description they say 'These effects cannot be resisted or blocked'. Pretty unfortunate use of word 'block' in both of them, which may cause confusion. Apparently stone skin is higher in the hierarchy, but they should definitely change the description or fix the skill.
But it CAN be removed. You have a 50% chance to strip it via buff strips like Kymar or Serris which is why when Quintus’ skill set says unblockable and unresistable buff strip you would expect Stoneskin to be completely stripped.
That’s what I hope too. Because otherwise why play Live Arena at all? Area bonuses? Not worth it. The gear sets? Terrible. It’s all for Quintus and he’s trash.
You should have known that the 50% chance was ALWAYS going to have a cjance to take affect with stoneskin dude... furthermore Lightning Cage also will ALwAYS have a chance to treat a buff as "Protected"... The only way to make the skill preform the way you thought it would, would be to insert a line of text that says "This skill will ignore protection effects." Still gave ya a like but for real bud, your disappointment was caused by your own lack of understanding or ability to read.

Stoneskin is NOT a protected buff. Is there a yellow outline around it? No. It is not a protected buff. It is a buff that simply has a 50% chance of BLOCKING a removal. You would expect that a skill that is 100% UNBLOCKABLE would not, in actuality, be blockable. See the issue? As for accuracy, only being unresistable relates to that. Being unblockable has nothing to do with resistance or accuracy.
Did you even watch the video? I clearly talk about how with an unblockable skill then stone skin should not have any chance to block a removal. That’s the whole point of what I was saying lmao
His A2 has a chance to do it. It's not going to proc all the time. "It's unblockable." Yes, but there is always a chance it won't happen. If it happens, it is unblockable. And if it were every time, then stoneskin would be deleted out of the arena meta. Useless
The term unblockable literally means it can’t be stopped. As the skill is worded now it should absolutely strip Stoneskin 100% of the time. The arena meta is the same team every single time for the last 9 months: Taras/Marichka/UDK and typically Siphi. We desperately need a change. But regardless this wouldn’t end the meta due to reaction still playing a part and the fact he’s a very tough champ to get. As it stands now he’s close to completely worthless. Bottom line: they need to fix his A2.

i agree with you, but... it saying "cannot be resisted or blocked" only really applies to the chance of it removing buffs (making it 100%), SS being its own little 50/50 strip property is probably coded differently where its a completely different property than it being tied to resistance. If it doesnt specfically say mention SS in the ability description, assume it wont 100% strip it. To be fair, the descriptions dont always completely match the actual ability effect

I can understand where you’re coming from but I disagree that it isn’t a champion issue. To me, you can’t write that his A2 has an unresistable and unblockable buff strip and then it gets blocked. I could understand protected buffs overruling that but Stoneskin is not a protected buff. It can be stripped normally and it should be a 100% chance to be stripped by Quintus. Otherwise the champion is absolute trash and Live Arena is completely pointless.

Plarium's descriptions really aren't the best, some of them are either super confusing or doesn't tell the full picture. In this case, I dont think plarium's definition of blocked correlates to yours exactly. They probs meant it in terms of it going through block debuffs, not through the 50/50 stoneskin mechanic (IMO is a dumb mechanic), or otherwise they would have to explicitely state that it does go through unique mechanics like SS or Protected buffs as it is a completely separate property. Yeah it makes no sense. They shouldn't write his skill as unblockable unless it truly is unblockable.
The problem is not with his skill but with a property of Stoneskin which has a 50% chance to not be stripped when a skill attempts to strip it. The only thing they advertised is that it can irresistibly strip REGULAR BUFFS, not special condition buffs like Stoneskin or Protected buffs. They did not write it as his skill is guaranteed to remove any buffs.
Again, the problem is that particular property of Stoneskin and not the function of Quintus' skill. It's exactly like there is nothing in the game that can stop Polymorph from applying when it triggers, in the same way Stoneskin will always only have a 50% chance to be stripped REGARDLESS OF CHAMPION MECHANICS.

It's fight with windmills. Back in the day I was complaining on devs with Drokgul's A3 in scarab combat, where A3 says, that when the shield is broken by attack or stripped, ally counterattacks. And when it happened, scarab did CA also and because you had no shield, you get provoked. I said to devs, that this is counterattack against counterattack and they said it works as intended.
I was just talking about “standardized language” in a hospital setting where a diagnosis should mean the same thing no matter what hospital you are in. Raid needs some standardized language. Stone skin says 50% chance to “block” removals. Quintus says cannot be blocked. Block should mean the same thing no matter where it is in the game.

God I hope not. I hate that they added a champion that can directly Sheep someone. It’s the most insanely powerful debuff in the game and is way too OP. My guess is it goes right through Stoneskin since that’s how it works currently when someone gets Polymorphed in Arena.

To keep it one to one with the effect. Removes all buffs and doesn't care about enemy's resistance (cannot be resisted) and any weird future effect (I cannot think any champ that blocks these types of effects) (i.e their version of cannot be blocked) however stoneskin doesn't say it blocks enemy strips. Instead it says there is a pure chance of 50% to not be removed at all and 50% chance to be removed. If the second applies then the champion in stoneskin might attempt to resist the strip either with high resistance or with the general 3% chance all champs have regardless of resistance. So, stoneskin is a pure casino buff. On the bright side, Quintus is Ur best bet of removing stoneskin as it is pure 50% to remove whereas other strip effects need to have high accuracy and the target might still resist because of the 3% chance we all know about

I can understand why you might feel that way but hear me out. This champion is absolute trash and is meant to be the ultimate reward for grinding Live Arena. He needs to be better or what’s the point? Having him strip SS won’t affect you as a low spender/F2P because chances are you won’t be able to get him for a long time if at all, (which sucks but that’s a whole different topic) and even if you do you’re not going to compete in high level arena without spending a lot more. In high level arena it has become a NIGHTMARE every week to deal with UDK teams which are almost the entire top 50. This champ on paper sounds like he counters that and that’s why it’s such a massive disappointment that he doesn’t actually do what he says he will do especially after you work so hard to get him. They’ve got to change his skill set.

I feel like they gave us UDK to deal with Rotos(the GOAT) because let’s be real, Siphi/Rotos was the Taras/Marichka back about 6 months ago. That created balance. SS was for those who maybe couldn’t compete with the ridiculous amount of ‘go-first’/insta-nuke teams. And then they made bombs do 400% damage. That created balance. Then along comes the Mighty Ukko’s who pretty much make SS a joke. Oh, and let’s not even talk about Georgid. But even he has balance in his passive. I went against a two man team in regular arena with +4Nekhret and +4Tara’s and I thought it would be a breeze. I had Dutches, Nekhret, Baron, Fahrakin the fat in SS. Needless to say it took me 3 tries. Now we can argue that my team was built poorly but; I’d argue that some champs could be rebalanced. I mean the note is just the fact that you can't get debuffed while in stone skin no matter what (aside from bombs/hp burn). I understand what drock is saying in the video, but in plariums eyes, having a guaranteed strip doesn't necessarily apply to stone skin. As it stands, guaranteed strip just means you don't need accuracy, BUT stone skin is always a 50/50 chance at removal.

Amazing showcase, and congratulations for getting quintus. But i want to say, i dont think that it should always strip stoneskin (even because maybe he would be way too strong). Maybe the description of the skill is not totally clear, but i think it should be read in this way: decrese defenese cannot be blocked or resisted, and the buff strip cannot be resisted. The stoneskin buff, always has a 50 percent chance of completely negating the effect, and it's on top of everything. But if you get lucky and you get the chance to remove it, for sure you will do it, because quintus doesn't need accuracy for that (because the effect is irresistible). Honestly, when more players will be able to get him, i thin he will be present in 90 per cent of the teams, cause i think he is a beast.

Can't be resisted on skills has always meant it ignores the interactions of acc and res. Can't be blocked has always referred to the fact it will place the debuff through block debuffs, this portion refers to placing the decrease defense. SS 50% fail rate is independent of the acc/res interactions.
Basically its working exactly as I thought it would by reading his kit and looks to be working as intended.
This guys strength is taking out buff heavy teams. Think siphi Marichka teams. His passive alone against a siphi buffed team deals 30% of each targets health as pure dmg and ignores shields. I would of rather seen how he operates in this regard.
I think it’s extremely poorly worded. If I read something that says unblockable I am going to take it at face value that the skill will do what it says it will do. Stoneskin should be stripped as it’s not a protected buff and can be stripped by other skills. The wording would indicate that it should be stripped by something that is unblockable. Not stripping Stoneskin makes Quintus extremely underwhelming. Just look at Wu Kong. He can Polymorph through Stoneskin no problem and he’s a free champ. So why can’t Quintus strip it? Makes zero sense.
@@bigpoppadrockrsl SS can be stripped, it's also always had its own 50/50 succeed or fail outside of resistance. Also polymorph has always gone through SS. And with Wukong he has an acc check, so there's counter play. Plarium could always word things better but everything is working within existing game mechanics.
I feel this way about 90% of the Doom Tower hard champs. They're woefully underwhelming.

The problem is almost every Plat team uses UDK so it sucks to not be able to counter him directly. He’s still got a good chance to get Polymorphed anyway but as it stands now you’re almost never going to pick this champion over anyone else which is unacceptable considering how hard he is to get.

Cool vid, glad to see Quintus in action. Agree i should strip it, even if stoneskin itself says 50/50. Like you say, this is a top end champ, the hardest champ to aquire imo. Therefore he either needs to have mind blowing multpliers in ever skill OR actually strip all buffs.

I feel they will change this once more ppl have access to it because yes if his sp2 strips stoneskin 100% of the time it’s a real game changer which for anyone below 4K it would be that much harder to hit it if most your opponents are that 1% above 4K and they are using him. I see a patch on him in future but I don’t feel they are gonna rush on it

More of a problem with stoneskin. And the new accessories will just make it worse. Pvp has too much crap that makes it far less enjoyable and you lose pvp due to RNG all the damn time. I even build my strippers with 300 resist to avoid sheep from duchess udk etc but you still get sheeped and lose on the spot. It's all to frustrate you and waste your time so you buy more stuff.

I would say the game is pretty much working as intended here. They I think make it pretty clear in many places that skills and artifacts are two separate entities essentially and that they have different procs and chances then the skills/abilities they effect. So his strip is working as intended but, after that strip is complete it goes through stone skins proc chance. To have a single champ completely break a whole sets purpose would be silly right?
I disagree. Look at Georgid. He ignores Stoneskin entirely. Has that broken the game? Nope. Quintus is the ultimate achievement at the moment for Live Arena, a mode that requires a stacked roster, strong strategy, and a massive grind. He has to be a decent champion or what’s the point? Having him strip Stoneskin won’t destroy anything but will instead allow a new meta to form in high level arena which is desperately needed. Look at the Top 50 teams at Plat reset. It’s all the same champs and it’s been like that for close to 9 months. It’s killing the game and needs to change. Making Quintus do what his skill set says it does would be a huge incentive to play Live Arena and mix up an insanely stale Meta.

@bigpoppadrockrsl I see you're point but just playing devils advocate here where Georgid's skill is to straight ignore those things, Quintus is the utility of removing the buffs and Stoneskin (having separate chances to skills) specifically blocks removals and strips 50% of the time, thats what breaks it I think. It also leaves them no room in the future to maybe make a new different functioning buff. And absolutely he should not be that hard to obtain for what they have framed him to be, but that is a product of the creature they and their consumers have created and I think you've acknowledged that. The only real hope to ease his achievement is that the Live Arena pool gets bigger I think which will happen over time.

So he does good damage for sure with all the ascensions at least on the A1 and A2 but he still has the same problem as before without a guaranteed stoneskin strip. Even worse now really because more and more Nukers are built in Stoneskin and Polymorph.

Buff strips dont get "blocked".It refers to the debuff getting BLOCKED by BLOCK debuffs buff. I was never under the assumption that it would always work against stoneskin or any other protected buffs @bigpoppadrockrsl

Stoneskin is NOT a protected buff. Do you see the yellow border around it? Nope. Look at Sun Wukong’s A2 for example. Says it can’t be blocked and goes right through Stoneskin. The inconsistency is the issue. If you write a skill as UNBLOCKABLE then it should actually be UNBLOCKABLE. And buff strips absolutely get blocked. You can see in that Plarium’s wording in the past regarding how Stoneskin works. They’ve referred to it as blocking strips at a 50% rate. Again, an unblockable skill should negate this. The skill does not work as it is written whatsoever.

My point is that if a skill says it’s unblockable or unresistable then it should actually be unblockable. Currently his buff strip is blockable and that makes zero sense with how it is written. Stoneskin normally has only a 50% chance to block a removal. Quintus is supposed to have a 100% to not get blocked on a buff strip at all. The math doesn’t add up if you see what I mean.

I think Plarium should introduce mythic heroes, the replacement for quintus should be a mythic hero where he should be a main carry or main dmg, then the game will be super fun imo

I dont find the inability to strip Stoneskin surprising; there are plenty of skills which cant be resisted or blocked (like Taras fear for example) which are still blocked by Stoneskin. This doesnt have anything to do w/ the skill, it has to do w/ how Stoneskin works. Just like how he doesnt strip bolster or protected buffs.
Taras’ irresistible fear actually isn’t blocked by Stoneskin initially. It goes through which is what leads him to getting sheeped constantly by high level players with Duches or Siphi in SS. The level of inconsistency with Stoneskin is extremely frustrating from an Arena player perspective. It’s way OP and should be strippable by a skill that says it’s unblockable. Just makes zero sense.

Well yes the devs said many times that stone skin is ALWAYS 50/50 to strip. It is frustrating but imagine how hard is it to get good stoneskin gear to then get it stripped 24/7?
It makes no sense. It’s harder to get Quintus by far than it is to get Stoneskin gear. He absolutely should strip it when his skill says it’s unblockable. It’s confusing otherwise and makes him just another champion.

He’s the only champ that strips buffs with an unblockable modifier. No one else has that on their skill list. His clearly states unblockable. Kymar doesn’t. Rian doesn’t. Sethallia doesn’t. No one else is unblockable. I think that makes it clear he should strip Stoneskin based on how his skill is currently written.

I think the whole idea with this guy is to counter taras and heavy buffs team, not to specifically take out udk. Plus stoneskin is the strongest buff in the game so unless it says it ignores it nothing should work against stoneskins rules. But that being said he is still very weak indeed and Plarium should take a look at him. Maybe they should add ignore stoneskin on his a2 and maybe buff the a3 straight multiplier.
We need a real UDK counter and this guy should be it. As it stands now he’s trash. His A3 hits like a wet noodle and his A2 doesn’t do the 1 thing it says it does: strip all buffs no matter the resistance in an unblockable fashion. It’s such a massive disappointment to work this hard to get a champ that is close to useless.
Plarium with resist and can't be blocked...yet still happens.... look at rathalos and ghostborm

Big Poppa the game has threshold capacities placed on gear and ascension and empowerment as you spend more resources. even full assention has application protocols ingame and arena relation to chance of debuff as per boss lvl resistance ...Maybe its the resistance sorry buddy. good show
I've seen this so many times. People assume they know what an abilities does by HOPING they're reading it the right way. But when has Plarium surprised us in a good way unless the ability specifically says it does what you hope it does? I mean they specifically said Georgid ignores Stoneskin. Why wouldn't you think that's what they would put down if that's how the ability works. Hope is a painful thing man.
I mean it clearly says unblockable. I would call that pretty straightforward. I wasn't hoping for anything but I was certainly expecting his A2 to do what it says it will do 🤷🏼♂️
TBH i agree with you 100% in most of the cases. But in stone skin description in game they use words '50% chance of blocking removals or steals'. In skill description they say 'These effects cannot be resisted or blocked'. Pretty unfortunate use of word 'block' in both of them, which may cause confusion.
Apparently stone skin is higher in the hierarchy, but they should definitely change the description or fix the skill.

But it CAN be removed. You have a 50% chance to strip it via buff strips like Kymar or Serris which is why when Quintus’ skill set says unblockable and unresistable buff strip you would expect Stoneskin to be completely stripped.

You should have known that the 50% chance was ALWAYS going to have a cjance to take affect with stoneskin dude... furthermore Lightning Cage also will ALwAYS have a chance to treat a buff as "Protected"... The only way to make the skill preform the way you thought it would, would be to insert a line of text that says "This skill will ignore protection effects."

It simply has a 50% chance to block removal from buff stripping skills. Well guess what? This skill is supposedly UNBLOCKABLE. I genuinely cannot understand how people can read his skill description and somehow think that Stoneskin is exempt from being stripped by an unblockable skill. Insulting my reading comprehension skills is completely unnecessary as it’s pretty damn clear from what Plarium wrote that this skill should strip Stoneskin because, again, it’s NOT a protected buff.

I do not know how it is encoded in the raid but I expect that with stoneskin it is so that you have 25/75 that you can strip
I dont understand.... you are a plat arena player... It doesnt say "Guaranteed buff removal", it just says "those effects cant be resisted or blocked" which i understand as you dont need accuracy. That doesnt however in any shape or form affect the stoneskin effect of being able to "PROTECT" itself. You are saying in the video yourself "if its protected i understand it cant be stirpped"
Stoneskin is NOT a protected buff. Is there a yellow outline around it? No. It is not a protected buff. It is a buff that simply has a 50% chance of BLOCKING a removal. You would expect that a skill that is 100% UNBLOCKABLE would not, in actuality, be blockable. See the issue? As for accuracy, only being unresistable relates to that. Being unblockable has nothing to do with resistance or accuracy.

His A2 has a chance to do it. It's not going to proc all the time. "It's unblockable." Yes, but there is always a chance it won't happen. If it happens, it is unblockable.
And if it were every time, then stoneskin would be deleted out of the arena meta. Useless
The term unblockable literally means it can’t be stopped. As the skill is worded now it should absolutely strip Stoneskin 100% of the time. The arena meta is the same team every single time for the last 9 months: Taras/Marichka/UDK and typically Siphi. We desperately need a change. But regardless this wouldn’t end the meta due to reaction still playing a part and the fact he’s a very tough champ to get. As it stands now he’s close to completely worthless. Bottom line: they need to fix his A2.
