My dad was a huge Sinatra fan. This was his favorite tune. As a teenager in the 80's, I thought, Sinatra, whatever. Now that I'm older, the old man was right. Sinatra is the man. Rest in peace dad. You did it your way. Love you forever 😇
It's about looking at your past and the more older you get the more of the past you'll see and notice what mistakes, regrets, joyful decisions you made and all those moments you had.
It brings tears to my eyes hearing this absolutely incredible song. My grandma who died in 2018 idolised Frank Sinatra and i still blast this song whenever i hear it. RIP Grandma
I'll dedicate this song for my dear grandfather. May he rest in peace... He was a great man, and I hope I'll be like him someday... I'm gonna miss you...
It is such an uplifting song. Especially if you have lived through hard times, and preserved. I did not expect to have goosebumps reading the text now. Almost in thankful tears (to Sinatra, to myself for surviving, to everyone who has helped me through the hard times and is still helping, and - to the person who has made this video with lyrics. Thank you).
One day my grandfather jokingly said that at his funeral we should have played this song, unfortunately he recently flew into the sky and we expressed his wish. Now I realize how perfectly this song reflects all the good things he has done in his life. You are a hero grandpa, rest in peace❤️
12:30 February 1st 2021 I sit at the bedside of my great grandfather holding his hand (my father figure) we listened to this song, I cried. His breathing was belated, he didn’t talk he was just still. I sat with him for 3 hours straight, then I went downstairs for a bit. My mom told me to go tell him I loved him, I walked upstairs and put my arms around him and hugged him told him I loved him, he hadn’t spoke in 2 days he opened his eyes a bit an mumbled “I love you” I left his room and went home. I cried the whole way home knowing that would be the last time I saw him. 12:10 am February 2nd he passed away. I miss him so much. And I will never forget him, because he lived his life and did it his way.

Don't tell me this has anything to do with that Italian governmental meeting?
And now, the end is near
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and every highway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
[Verse 2]
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course
Each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this
I did it my way
[Verse 3]
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all, and I stood tall
And did it my way
[Verse 4]
I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside
I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way
Oh, no, oh, no, not me
I did it my way
[Verse 5]
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels
And not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows
And did it my way
Yes, it was my way

This will be played as people walk into my lovely mum's funeral on 17th January. She sadly passed away on Christmas day 2021. I miss her so so much. I LOVE YOU MUM ❤🧡💚💙💜🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹XXXXX
Hope it goes okay mate, I'm sure she was a lovely woman and lived a long, happy life. She's clearly set a good example for you and raised you well mate. Sending love to the family and best wishes for on the day. ❤️❤️
"So come, my friends be not afraid. We are so lightly here. It is in love we are made. In love we disappear."
Leonard Cohen
@@coreynewbigging3573 Thank you for your lovely message. I miss my mum so much. She was also my best friend.
@@Steveachester Well you just continue to be strong and brave live up to the family name, continue to make her proud of you being her son. Most importantly don't let it build up, let your grief out it's natural to do so, you'll get through this and be able to share all those cherished memories you have of her to many people in your life so she may not be here physically anymore, but in your heart well she'll always be there.
Played this at one of my best friends funeral. Her name was Lisa C. I miss her.
This song reminds me of an elderly lady I took care of. She passed in 2019. She would have me play this after her dialysis appointments. And in April I sang this song not knowing it’d be one of the last with my mom Easter night. Next day she passed ;( I miss you mom. I love you more. Miss you too Renee. So glad y’all are able to meet now. Rip angels. 💫💫💜💜
Great musical theme and make me remenber to my uncle Cesar Fiestas Guerrero, because was his favorite music of Frank Sinatra.
Thank you friend because today sunday I find the complete music.
Congratulations from Peru...😢😢😢👏👏👏
This is a legendary song!!!
And now, it's been featured on "Stranger In Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin" game right now...😏😎
CHAOS.
this was my grandads favourite song, he is my best friend even though he’s gone. he taught me things you don’t learn in school, valuable life lessons. he lives through me now, i couldn’t describe how close we were. i never really noticed the meaning of this song until he passed away. this song was played at the funeral this year. this song describes him so well, always had it his way. i miss him every day.
This song is amazing, you can apply it to different things , but over all it great to listen to.
Edit: I'm 15 and looking at the comments, I can tell that there's more to this song then I know.
