I know you've met them, but for those that haven't, tiny is an understatement. You look at them on stage and think "how????" How can these tiny things create THAT!!! doesn't make any sense.
@@andgar923 I remember being told before I saw them live that the two things that strike you first are; - How small they are and -How much sound they pump out Both were understatements!
Three teenage girls doing the job of four grown men! Breaking out a song that they do not normally play live and that is not on their setlist, and it's after they have already played for two hours! The Warning are Amazing!
Hi guys. As far as I know, they played this song especially for the owner of the "Whiskey AgoGo". He is a big Metallica fan and insisted on coming to the concert despite his serious cancer. The girls were pretty exhausted after 22 songs, but they did a great job with this cover, imo.
It is not just the masterful execution of 3 girls playing a song that is played by 4 men (often with support from another guitarist on the backstage). This song wasn't even on the show's setlist and was played at the fans' request after a 2-hour show. Alejandra needed medical support backstage after finishing the song as she was completely exhausted. This show and the show recorded at Lunário I consider the greatest individual performance by a bassist in the history of rock and she was just a teenager.
The professionalism that they all possess to deliver a performance that the audience expects regardless of the circumstances is an inspiring example for everyone.
If you listen to Metallica's version you'll be surprised by how damn well it's done, they were not looking to change it up. Of course, by now you probably WON'T be surprised because you know The Warning are a force of nature.
"Tiny but ferocious".. yep - that's very similar to what Lzzy Hale said of them. Their cover is awesome, especially so, considering they're a 3-piece band. Wow!
This was 5 years ago when they were all teens. It is incredible the skills, professionalism, and poise at this age. It was easy to tell then that they would become stars.
There actually is a video where someone has merged a video of Metallica with this one, intercutting back and forth between the two. Amazing how well the girls played this song. And, as always, hang in there Ale, we're almost done.
In this great performance by the Villarreal sisters, the clean way in which they played never ceases to catch my attention. Daniela does excellent, singing and supporting the song with her only guitar. Paulina shows her capabilities not only as a drummer, but as a great drummer-singer. Ale never ceases to surprise me with her brilliant performance at such a young age.
In 2017 The Warning announced no more covers. This song was the last cover they did. 3 years later they were asked to do it as a favor. They practiced it at sound check and killed it as the encore of a 22 song set.
At the end of a 2hr show by request a 13yr old Ale powers through and Pau and Dany kill it. Dany playing for 2 guitars and Pau singing while all 3 nail this technical song in a face melting way. Always enjoy this version thanks guys. 🤘🔥⚡
*Atlas Rise Backstory:* The Warning put out a video of *Atlas Rise* from *The Cave* (aka home studio / Rehearsal Room) marking the end of being a cover band. This particular show was a closed Kickstarter Campaign *(funding for studio time to record Queen of the Murder Scene album)* performance. It was the second night Jan 2019. The Warning already play an hour & 45 minute set. This was the final song of the night. *Metallica Blacklist;* The Warning *WAS NOT ORIGINALLY ASKED BY METALLICA* to be part of the *Blacklist album.* But *Alessia Cara WAS.* A guy who worked for Cara also did work for The Warning. He suggested for artists to work to if Metallica agreed. Obviously Metallica agreed. So when The Warning plays *Enter Sandman* (their version) live. They always mention Alessia Cara & we hear Cara via backing tracks doing the oooooooooooo's. Now you know.
For sure keep hitting the Metropolitan show. They are all excellent. Try ‘Revenant’ and ‘Narcisista’ for songs with guest musicians. Lunario for when your ready for the masterpiece that is the Queen of the Murder Scene album. Dakota bar is another that should be done in its entirety for first album stuff. And from the way-back machine, Liceo for some classics. Yea, Metallica has definitely heard this cover (the one from the Cave at least). They originally did it & sent it to Metallica as a video pitch to open for them in Mexico. They didn’t get the gig but Metallica planned a meet & “warm-up jam session”? (I guess a pre-show jam session to get their old, arthritic hands moving😂) anyway, it fell thru for an un-specified reason. Scheduling or whatever. Anyway, the Whiskey version came about because it was the owners? Birthday and he loved Metallica so they threw it in at the end of a 2-hour set as a birthday present. And absolutely murdered it.
You gotta check out their acoustic sessions. One can't hide during these, and that's where one can truly see their technique and appreciate their skill level. Up close with no distortion, just them and their acoustic instruments (well, except for Pau). One can also hear and see Ale's bass a bit better and it really shines in these sessions.
The Warning is a once in a generation phenomenon. I flew down from Portland Oregon with my daughter to see them live over 2 months ago in Tijuana where they started with Disciple. Ale’s bass kicked me in the chest and knocked me over, then Pau beat me over the head with her drums and then Dany finished me off by slaying me with her guitar and vocals. Once you go down The Warning rabbit hole there's no way out, like Black Holes (which is one of my favorite songs of theirs).🤘⚡
Perhaps someone else has suggested this but...there is a YT vid that a Russian fan edited Metallica and The Warning playing Atlas Rise simultaneously! It's a lot of fun!
"Tiny but ferocious." I believe that was the awesome Lzzy Hale, who gifted Dany the white Gibson Explorer she plays on Enter Sandman in their live shows and who, along with Halestorm, is a great supporter of Dany and The Warning.🤘🏻
Considering you guys are music appreciators in general I'd suggest doing some of their more unusual songs, like the acoustic-ish 'Revenant' (from Theatro) (or Black Holes live, but that doesn't have great video to go with the live, yet) and another from QoTMS album, maybe QoTMS itself (can't remember if you did that already?).
Always had respect for Metallica. They are big as can be but I can honestly say that I finally have 2 favorite Metallica songs 😂. They came. They rocked. They conquered.
the girls from , The Warning, For my taste it is a rare mix of legendary rock groups like Suzi Quatro, Joan Jett and the Black Hearts and Heart. greetings from Mexico.
DPA/TW played this cover of *Atlas Rise* at the Whisky A GoGo's 55th anniversary, 24 Jun 2019... it was the last song of a 2 hour gig with 22 songs played... the manager of the Whisky is a huge Metallica fan and the girls decided to do this cover for them... they originally played it in The Warning Cave (video available) several years before... they played it at this show with a few days practice and completely knocked it out of the stadium! you can tell Ale is worn slap out but powers through to the end... i can't say that i blame her... These teenagers have the “disadvantages” of one less guitar, quarter of a ton less mass, and over 100 years less experience.
They still kill it.
When you listen to Metallica and close your eyes, you hear The Warning.
You could say at this point, The Warning is a Metallica certified and approved band for their covers

I thought that the owner of the club or the event organizer was the one requesting it?
Agreed.
OMG! These young ladies rocks to the end.!

The Warning are seriously talented young ladies. No joking around. 🤘🎶☮️
Good?? No ,that was incredible considering their young age, having only one guitarist a singing drummer and a very tired little Bass player.
Poor Ale was whipped but powered through like the rock star she is!

Metallica & The Warning. Atlas Rise.
A really good job of editing.

Very nice reaction!!! Another suggestion; Dull Knives from The Warning Cave in 2020..
I don't know the original song, not being a Metallica fan, but that was an impressive performance in its own right.
In 2017 The Warning announced no more covers. This song was the last cover they did. 3 years later they were asked to do it as a favor. They practiced it at sound check and killed it as the encore of a 22 song set.
They also did it in The Cave in march 2017 The night Metallica played Mexico City. just before QOTMS was dropped 🤘🏾⚡
how would you like to follow this act at a HS talent show!😂🤘
I wonder how many teens threw their guitars/bass/drums out the window after this.
Just goes to show if you want to hear a Metallica in perfect timing….call The Warning 😂

Thanks for the interesting trivia! Love those behind the scenes facts 🤘😎👍
Alessia Cara said in an interview that her team heard from Metallica's team that Metallica heartily approved of the reimagined cover!
When TW did covers, they tried to be as exact as possible. Until Metallica asked them to do a revision.
Every day I love these girls more

The Warning can cover Metallica with ease.
Metallica would struggle to cover The Warning.
To be entirely fair to Metallica, they only have one real singer, so they cannot do everything TW can in that regard.
The best band of the 21st century. This version is even better than Metallica's.
