Thank you for doing this for your children. Their reaction made me cry just from sheer joy that they are loved so much. It is so important for children to constantly be reminded that they are loved. What a beautiful idea - giving St. Valentine's gifts to your children to show them you love them and to teach them the importance of love/charity.

Wonderful! It looked so festive and I love that you incorporate the St. Valentine story into the party. You are a great mommy! I can tell the kids had a blast at their party. I wish I had done things like this for my son when he was little. He's 23, so he's too old now. All mommies watching this ~ make those memories with your kids when they are young. They grow up way too fast and you'll regret it if you don't. They will always fondly remember family things like this! Thanks for sharing :)

You are so stinkin' adorable. I have been wanting to do something Valentine's themed for my babies, but wasn't sure what to do-- so thank you. I love that this also REMINDS me that simple is beautiful, because kids appreciate the little things in life. I too, adore the smallest things in life, but I admit, there are times I overdo it for others because I feel like they want something more. You are an amazing mama and human being.

I did this when my kids were little. I also threw a party for St Patrick’s day too! Definitely great memories!
Fun! What did you do for the parties?
A Catholic Mom's Life We would do the same thing you do, but we would have supper with my husband. So for St Patrick’s day we would decorate everything in green and eat Irish food for dinner. Also we would throw Halloween and Christmas parties with our kid’s friends. We’d play kids games like freeze dance and musical chairs and for the Christmas parties we’d decorate cookies. We’d also have lots of treats and fun just like birthday parties! I figured our kids were only going to be little for a short time so we may as well make the best of it. Of course we didn’t celebrate every holiday every year. Just the ones we had time for that year.
My little one LOVED it as much as I did! I put it on the TV and she was super happy. Thanks for giving us another great idea Heather! Great video as always!

I always make pink waffles for Valentine’s Day. Our waffle maker makes heart waffles anyway so that adds to it. We also order a heart pizza and I get candy for them. We watch the peanuts Valentine’s movie that night too. 💕

I like this book series (they have an Easter one and a saint Patrick's day etc.) and I got this book this year and my almost two-year-old is getting the idea behind it and wants to read everyday!

So cute and inspiring!! I’m gonna do something like this with my family tomorrow thanks to this video! I have also got some inspiration from catholic iching and gonna have toilettroll-S:t Valentines with sweets in it. Also hearts with words about love from the Bible written on them all over the table. A picture with Jesus and Marys sacred hearts. A pink Rosary...We don’t have a book, but I Will tell the story about S:t Valentine during the party. 💗

You are such a good decorator! This is so sweet, idk what part of VA your family is in, but I thought I'd share, the virginia zoo is having free admission every friday this month, and I believe that on valentines day they are having special programs for kids too.
So darling. I make heart chocolates in that ice tray but I’m going to make ice cubes fir our poetry tea time this week so cute! We have a book about St Valentine by voice of the martyrs. I got it years ago through the Brother Francis. Publishers I think.

Or pick a book about grandparents or people who live after death. Possibly an oral story including f
Christ.
Also, adding corporal acts for others to witness our Catholic faith. Mercy is for the poor by giving them a card or treat not just a family party to each other . I would really appreciate visiting of a cemetery and St. Valentine coming alive with prayer and visiting the sick. I like to see a deeper look at martydom and understanding. Perhaps after witnessing the faith for others a party would be ok after growing acts of kindness. The party does not have to be pink, red, or hearts. Faith is seeing it without the red or hearts. The hearts are through prayer and kindness.

Oh I love this !!! I always make my hubbys fav meal and special valentines day themed dessert on vday. We prefer staying in and enjoying the night instead of going out. Im pregnant with my first (baby girl! ❤️) and I cant wait to do things like this with her when shes older! God bless
