How to Make FERMENTED Dill Pickles! || Black Gumbo

  • There's nothing better than a true fermented dill pickle. Those vinegar-based pickles they sell in the grocery stores do not come close to the delicious flavor of a properly fermented cucumber pickle. More than that, there are great health benefits to fermenting your food including probiotic properties that are good for your gut. I'll show you how I pickle my cucumbers in this video and how to make a 2.5% brine. I will not provide you with measurements for spices and additions to your ferment, you will need to look that up yourself if you're not comfortable with eyeballing the contents like I am. I want you to come away from this video confident that you confirm it at home. With a few easy to acquire tools, you will be set to preserve your food in this ancient and healthy way.
