It's a play style. The rewind is indeed the hold back to a perfect frame, but it's manageable compared to it's massive benefits. Pro tip: If you forget, hit your 5th and keep moving, transference back in when the rewind finishes and you'll pull Protea to you.
Yeah I had actually tried testing out Protea with her augments for 4 as similar gameplay loop as Xaku and have to agree it is not better than Xaku unless you’re the kind of player that just hits 2 and 4 on Xaku. Anyone thinking otherwise is coping hard. It’s like a sweatier, try-harder, less scalable version of Xaku. Eventually just gave up on that and leaned back into what Protea does best with original kit and Helminthed off the 4. Juice is not worth the squeeze with the augments and babysitting TA cooldowns
This is just absolutely true on the numbers. Any argument you could make for Protea over Xaku with the 4 and augs involves the two abilities we aren't talking about here, the 1 and the 3. Nuking the 2 by losing scaling AND grouping via helminth for more sweat work is nonsense. Any strip or survivability added by her 4 are completely nullified by the damage loss on her 2 and the fact that the 1 already makes her immortal.
Protea is so good, but I wish DE would make her 4th ability more fun to use. If it didn't rewind your physical location, it would be perfect. Maybe they can add a tap & hold functionality so players can choose to rewind or not? I get you can cancel it but 1) it's annoying 2) you miss out on the stored damage.

As a user of the Augment and taking into account what you said, what i see and the fact i just got into Steel Path yesterday, i would say the augment has a home at the pre-Steel Path Phase of the game. 20 Stacks is enough, you can take it with you without thinking about it, sacrifice Strengh for Duration for longer Skill 4 and so longer 20 Stacks Artillery and you are saving on Energy. With the 3 Energy/Second Mod your Energy pool is full way before your Skill 4 ends. Plus, the Skill 4 is a safenet for dying. Background: I started Warframe with Protea Prime Access and want to play comfy with controller on PC... so, good aiming is an issue. Protea got me into Warframe in the first place and it sucked me in hard. I really love her and her Technochron skin is in White Black Gold absolutely stunning. I started her with just the Skill 1 but soon realized that to have a selfshooting turret is just nice. ^^''' Next step is to wait 5 weeks to get the Torid Incarnon (aiming) and im set. This week is the Okina Incarnon because selfstabbing daggers. AuraDMG all the way! xD
if you want the #1 guns to not aim with: Primary Tombfinger kitgun (parts are Tremor/Splat), Kuva Zarr/Ogris, Occucor with Sentient Surge augment, Kuva Nukor/Atomos Incarnon. Point in the general direction and everything explodes. For the occucor maximum performance, mod it for viral+heat or corrosive+blast. If you put it on saryn, Blast+toxin and use panzer vulpaphyla to apply viral or a helminth ability (nourish, viral tempest).

My targets are: Kuva Zarr, Kuva Ogris, Ocucor. Without looking i'm pretty sure i don't have the Kuvas, so i will see if i maybe already got the ocucor. Easily my favourite frame since the moment she dropped, to the point that at over 8500 hours, Protea's over 30% of my frame utilisation 😅 Her 4's awful, it feels terrible. It's viable in terms of damage, though the Range sucks, and it's viable in terms of survivability, even though you've got functional immortality through her 1, save for Tox. You can absolutely make it work, but it still feels fucking abysmal. The Augment for her 2 is dogshit. It's fine, I said it. It doesn't come close to matching up to just casting her turrets, and you have to work with her 4 to use it, which is bullshit. If DE actually wanted it to just be a turret augment, they'd turn it into a tap/hold effect where you could conceivably have a turret attached to you, and still have two more to tap out. If you want to try something that's a bit of a laugh and works pretty well with her kit while also being somewhat related to Temporal Anchors nuking, try Thermal Sunder.
That augment reminds me of Mirage's floating disco ball... I think they're basically the same but I could be wrong... I'd also like to add a 4th option to fix her aug. Make it a tap/hold ability. One could be the default placement and one could the follower. For example you could place 2 and have one be a follower. The placed can keep their scaling and the follower can be capped I guess but with a bit higher of a cap...
Sort of - the added gut punch with this TA augment is that they also cap the combo count on the augmented turret at 20 so it would be like if they also lowered the dps of the Mirage's prism when augmented. The main issue is that standard Blazing Artillery is already so good and not that hard to recast, you'd have to really ask yourself why you're trading more mod slot and lower damage to take it with you when you can simply just recast it when needed.
Good build by you as expected, but PLEASE check out nourish over dispensary with bith temporal anchor augments. This is my favourite build for every gamemode, and the most effective one i‘ve tried. Keep up the great videos man, never seen a bad video coming from you. Definitely amongst the top 5 Warframe youtubers 🔥
I only know this from testing but you MUST TIME IT ABSOLUTELY PERFECT can use her 4 to hold her turrets stackimg damage and pause the multipluer with her 4 and that same turret will continue to stack as well as new ones summomed the 4 is trash yes but thats a neat thing u can do
Because of how the calculation for casting speed works I personally use two of the casting speed shards and would put energy filled at spawn one instead giving me a freedom for a choice of a secondary. Basically, if I calculate it correctly, with two cast speed shards you get 0.57 casting speed and with three you get 0.47 casting speed which, for me, doesn't feel like that much of an increase
optimisation to build is the larva augment which gives toxin on recast so corpus don't stand chance at all, meanwhile you can use latron incarnon for armour strip and vazarin to compliment shield regen for 1st ability.
Nice build, i run basically the same build, only difference is archon stretch rather than normal stretch and use electricity on pet for more energy regen (just pointing it out for other people, the energy from archon stretch is just a nice extra, definitely not mandatory)
since I dont have arcane energize or plat I pretty much go for 1-2 Red Tau/Normal Shard 1 for Duration, Strength or just pure Strength and another 1-2 Blue Tau/Normal Shard 1 for starter Energy or Orb Effectiveness and 1 Yellow Tau Shard for Casting speed
i enjoy her augment for low lvl steel path until 200 lvl ennemy, her augment allow me to get a better use of her passive on turret, its comfy, but clearly weaker weaker than without the augment. Also, i simply like her 4, i get it that some get annoyed by it or even nauseous, but i like it, i prefer to use the cerno proboscis to group ennemy, right now im trying to find a good weapon to make use of Melee Vortex
I use temporal artillery and temporal erosion augments and subsumed nourish on her 3 so I can make the turrets stay with me and shoot at 360 degrees while also armor stripping enemies. Like I don't even have to do anything with the build except use the shield grenades for shield gate.
I use Roar because it saves a lot of power and I can focus on 1 and 2 without having to worry about 4. Because of the temporal anchor, I set the key to invert so I can turn it off immediately, but it still annoys me sometimes. For me, Roar solves this problem to some extent.
I fimd it crazy people are trying to use her 4th augment with her armour strip one. Like just subsume terrify or pharaohs strike on her 4th, even them, armour isnt as impactful as it used to be (bless DE for changing this), second, she already does heat. Do have to keep in mind mission types, for endless, she is already perfect for setting up an area to be comfy and chill in. but i do see some merit in the augment for exterminate type missions. Think there's better frames to do that with (titania for example), but if ya dead set on using protea, it would probably be better to use the agument there. I put roar on my subsume for her, but a grouping subsume is peak, though i use the groupihg bow with her, for grouping, heat inhert and viral.
Protea and Zephyr are the only ones who can cut my tests in the sym: 20x sp 225 daimos juggernauts. If a weapon or wf cannot kill them fast enough, they are not in S tier. End of story.
i have a very different approach to protea's build, i have 5 tau forged duration shards and i got full on duration, ignoring ability strength in modding completely xD
The issue is you’re using temporal artillery entirely wrong. You want to build for more duration. You also want to pair it with temporal erosion so it can armor strip. Additionally, the whole point is that you can snapshot strength on it. Once you have her passive active, cast her 2, while your 4 is up. Then, when your is about to run out, cancel and immediately recast it. It will reuse the same turret with losing barely any duration. You can keep the same turret for several minutes on end. Since your turret has a ton of strength and you don’t need to use as many, you can subsume something like roar over dispensary, to make it do even more damage while armor stripping while allowing you to use your weapons and anything else freely. Just try making a proper build for it.
Yeah, this is why the augment is insane. Once you snapshot everything you can just fly around recasting your 4 every 20 seconds and everything in los of you dies. Casting a turrets every few seconds while aiming at enemies then waiting for the cast animation and the turret to start shooting is laughably bad in comparison (but still strong due to how op protea is). I think the larva subsume is just not good on most tilesets/mission types. Roar is surely better due to double dipping and just being op. Even with the non-augment build everything that your turret can shoot at will die, so why waste a helminth and effort to group them? Honestly morning’s build sucks but protea is so strong that you can be fooled into thinking otherwise. Protea also rolls eda and circuit with zero effort with the augment build, although she could probably do it with this one too. If you want consistent eda clears just take her every week.
I agree on the larva subsume. Larva tends to be pretty finicky in actual maps because of doors, walls and fences. Lets say you run 190% range instead of 250% then subsumed larva will be sitting at 15.2m range. This compared to coil horizon (which retains its 12m base range instead of larva's 8 and can restore energy) or cordon/melee vortex(15m range) will be doing the same either more effectively, or without removing your 4th ability. While a grouping tool will stack the multiplier like noones business the auto turret will be constantly applying damage all around you without any input from you. He could have easily done the same comparison with just a nautilus in his kit while using the 4th ability and would have had similar results on the group, but still have a turret to apply damage between the groupings. This is also ignoring other fun things you can do with temporal artillery, like death prevention, aoe nuke, status cleanse, energy restore and ammo restore. I think if you dont use it properly its pretty much skill issue.
Maybe its because I play garuda, but I feel like this is pretty immobile, like could u not combine this larva build with the augment that allows u to have following turrets? ud be able to move much more around and with decent duration (or at least non negative one) it would be even more of a chill gameplay, especially since in ur comparison u showed that both augment and no augment have the same kill time, the only difference from ur build being u grouped them
Good... this will help to prevent DE from ever nerfing it. A lot of people don't know the massive power her temporal augments have. I wanted to do a video of my builds, she can do everything in the game without spamming that much, but I fear people will spike Protea's usage. I know one Warframe ytuber that knows this and avoids doing videos of her.
When you compared times, ofc its faster when you group them up. Thats not because of scaling or anything. The scaling will be an argument for higher levels, but were trying to prove something under different conditions here, that doesnt prove anything. Either you group them up in both tries, or you dont, the way you did it here was kinda pointless.
you can't because you removing any of her other 3 abilities is purely trolling at that point since they are so good, so you cant helminth grouping comfortably onto her without it replacing her 4, the augments are truly pointless, so no the comparison is 100% accurate

Question, why do you need rolling guard when shield satellites can give you a 5 second shield gate

They just switched it. Don't hold 4 anymore just tap 4 for the original cancel

I agree on the larva subsume. Larva tends to be pretty finicky in actual maps because of doors, walls and fences. Lets say you run 190% range instead of 250% then subsumed larva will be sitting at 15.2m range. This compared to coil horizon (which retains its 12m base range instead of larva's 8 and can restore energy) or cordon/melee vortex(15m range) will be doing the same either more effectively, or without removing your 4th ability. While a grouping tool will stack the multiplier like noones business the auto turret will be constantly applying damage all around you without any input from you. He could have easily done the same comparison with just a nautilus in his kit while using the 4th ability and would have had similar results on the group, but still have a turret to apply damage between the groupings.
This is also ignoring other fun things you can do with temporal artillery, like death prevention, aoe nuke, status cleanse, energy restore and ammo restore. I think if you dont use it properly its pretty much skill issue.

Maybe its because I play garuda, but I feel like this is pretty immobile, like could u not combine this larva build with the augment that allows u to have following turrets? ud be able to move much more around and with decent duration (or at least non negative one) it would be even more of a chill gameplay, especially since in ur comparison u showed that both augment and no augment have the same kill time, the only difference from ur build being u grouped them
Good... this will help to prevent DE from ever nerfing it. A lot of people don't know the massive power her temporal augments have.
I wanted to do a video of my builds, she can do everything in the game without spamming that much, but I fear people will spike Protea's usage.
I know one Warframe ytuber that knows this and avoids doing videos of her.

When you compared times, ofc its faster when you group them up. Thats not because of scaling or anything. The scaling will be an argument for higher levels, but were trying to prove something under different conditions here, that doesnt prove anything. Either you group them up in both tries, or you dont, the way you did it here was kinda pointless.
you can't because you removing any of her other 3 abilities is purely trolling at that point since they are so good, so you cant helminth grouping comfortably onto her without it replacing her 4, the augments are truly pointless, so no the comparison is 100% accurate
@@morning8590 You dont need her 3 if you wanna keep moving anyways. Just to make that clear, the "runner" build is clearly subpar if we talk level cap, but more than enough for quick sp exterminates. Im just saying it can be a fun and efficient playstyle in their own way. Also, is it really trolling to remove her 3? I mean, plenty of ways to sustain, cmon.....
