    Would really love to hear more about selling to florists & doing a you-pick flower farm, especially more about the legal requirements (insurance, etc.) that you would need for a you-pick/wholesale seller

    • @twosistersflowerfarm
      @twosistersflowerfarm  2 года назад

      Yes, for sure will be creating content around this! I will say the legal requirements vary so much from area to area that it's hard to give advice other than to talk to professionals near you. With U-Pick you're going to want to look into insurance so you're not liable with people on your property. There's really not too many 'legal' requirements with wholesale- for me, the biggest change was filling out the right tax forms since I wasn't collecting sales tax from those customers.

    I love this video! I want to do subscriptions in the future. I’ve been worried about the pressure of prepaid bouquets b/c what if I misjudge the amount of flowers I will have and I’m unable to fulfill the subscriptions?!? I’ve been selling on consignment to our local farmer’s market with good response. I may dip my toe in CSA’s next summer. Thank you for your videos. They give me more courage.

    • @twosistersflowerfarm

      You got this, Carol! You have a very valid concern but there's always other alternatives if your flower crop doesn't turn out like you need it to in order to fill your CSA orders. There's lots of flower farmers in my area + there's always someone willing to help out if need be. Earlier this year, when a fellow flower farmer needed daffodils for her spring CSA- I was able to sell them to her so she could fill her orders. And last fall when my dahlias didn't make it quite long enough, a friend of mine had plenty that he was willing to share. Plus, I keep an account with my local flower wholesaler- as a plan b if I need it. Wishing you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do!

    I love your videos, could you do one on what you do after you harvest before you create the bouquets? How do you get the bugs out?

    • @twosistersflowerfarm
      @twosistersflowerfarm  2 года назад

      Great suggestion! And I can certainly add that to our content calendar:) The best thing we do is leave our flowers in a cool, dark place for a bit of time and any bugs tend to fly away. If you have more severe bugs, a gentle shake of your flowers at the time of harvest can help or even a gentle rinse with some water- just be careful, you don't want to get the blooms too wet! Hope this helps!

    Thank you! Just starting out. We all ready see that CSA is a must for at least 6 weeks from mid-June thru July….small town and lots of blooms and not a lot of need during that time. Perfect time for a CSA!

    Your videos are amazing. You are clear, you don't ramble on just to get more watch time and you are willing to be transparent. Question about the CSA model: Are the subscriptions all paid for in advance? Is there only one price point? Thank you.

    • @twosistersflowerfarm
      @twosistersflowerfarm  11 месяцев назад +1

      Many of my friends were huge supporters of my business-especially when I was just getting started so yes they did pay (though my subscription was priced significantly lower than it is now) and my family- while they would willingly have paid, I often gave them bouquets in exchange for the work they helped me with throughout the season 🧡
