@ThinkingandTinkering
nice one mate - I put a link in my video - awesome job
I love that you guys go back and forth with some of your videos
Nice work and a great demonstration of with and without the mesh.
I might try this but for the mantle, I think I will block the centre with something metal perhaps a large coin like a 50 pence piece to force the flames up the sides.
Good idea...
This was a great test run! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
Its really amazing actually
That last test is probably why Rob's version had a mesh on both the bottom and the top. A tradeoff for sure, very slightly more expensive, but the extra safety protection is useful.
Love the Mantle idea.
I had an oil fire the other day. I did have a stainless steel strainer on top of the pan, but there was so much oil on it I wasn't sure it was a good idea to just remove it since the fire could have spread directly inside the pan.
By the time I turned to grab baking soda, the flames had gone from 6 inches to 12 inches. I definitely caught it right on time!
Lesson learned: keep the baking soda at arm's reach no matter what and use a timer when making fries.
Ohh,... so sorry to hear that. I hope all is fine now
@@cayrex Thank you but I caught it right on time, just needed to air out the place for 15-20 minutes.
I did see how fast that flame grew and there was no time for hesitation.
How long will it burn ?
Too cool. Good job!!
that was quick
this is cool!,i would also make a lid for the top of the heater to capture more heat,,,,,?thanks
Great testing!
Thank you 😊
Very interesting.
Frickin Awesome😎👍...
Please what size is the mesh?
If you're talking about the weave, most mesh is the same size. I actually took a splatter screen for a frying pan and used that. 😁
Uff,... I dont remember the mesh size,... I need to look
@@cayrex thats ok but TKS for replying....
I have been using the same as the guy first commentined... Works well 👍😎
@@ellissmithjr6599 ok great 😁
With isopropyl alcohol, how long does the size you are using in this video last ?
Sorry I dont know how long will last IPA. But you can test 100ml and see how long will it burn.
Nice mod!
Could you please put some thought into how this could be adapted for cooking purposes?
Yes I will
How long would that burn if filled completely?
1 liter of ethanol is for 2 to 4 hours. Depending on the size of the burning hole.
What is the sponge stuff you used?
Oasis foam
