      Steroids cause connective tissue issues, usually around the ribs and the back. Same thing happens to a lot of NFL players. I also don't care if he is or isn't on roids, he played hurt and hit 40.

      I've noticed Trout hit those low & outside pitches for HRs too. The swing looks effortless compared to the results. I think Trout's swing is just so perfect that when he does connect with low & away pitches, it's the perfect extension of his arms generating extra power, and not any extra effort on Trout's part.

    Mike Trout's 490 footer was the longest home run of the season not hit at Coors Field. There should be separate categories: Long homers at Coors; long homers everywhere else!

    I remember when willie stargell of the Pittsburgh pirates hit a homer in center field the ball went to where me and my brother was sitting on the 3rd deck of 3 rivers stadium back in the 70s

      Stargell had the longest home run in the Phillies old Veterans Stadium. I remember being a kid and wondering why one seat in the 600 level had a star with a six on it inside a circle. It was where Stargell's homer landed. They changed the color of the circle when he passed.

    I thought the trout hr in Texas, the Brandon drury in Arizona and for sure the McMahon hr at coors were clearly not as far as they were estimated. Especially since yelich went a level above and it was only 4 feet further. The trout hr at Oakland was a bomb though

    That Drury one at about 2 minutes it was a little off, I think. The wall said 374 and there is no way it made it 100 feet past that. That thing was most likely closer to 410 to maybe 430. Then you look at the Alvarez homer @ about 3 minutes and it's only a foot longer. The wall said 362 and it flew so much further than the Drury one. I know it's estimated, but the Drury one is estimated way, way off.

    3:24 I don't believe the estimated distances are right. There's no way that ball lands 100 feet beyond the wall. Maybe the estimate is how far it would have gone if it went all the way to field level, not how far from home plate to where it hit the stands.

    Killer homers, but more proof that exit velocity is a useless stat. The 504ft dinger, had a slower exit velocity than one at 468. A homerun is a homerun is a homerun.
