Nerd Machine TV is the official RUclips channel for Nerd Machine original videos and exclusive Nerd HQ coverage. The channel hosts all of the "Conversations for a Cause" panels from Nerd HQ's 2011, 2012, and is the home of Nerd HQ 2013. We will also be offering highlight videos from each panel shortly after they are concluded. Previous panels include shows like Psych, DOCTOR WHO, CHUCK, Robot Chicken, and movies like Twilight, The Expendables 2, The Man with the Iron Fists, and more. Panels with Stan Lee, Joss Whedon, and Nathan Fillion are also featured here. This channel is also the home of Nerd Machine's original three part video,Trailer Park Heroes.

i dont know why a lot of people/fans have hissy fits about moffat as a person. i think he's rather lovely.

The fact that it was a throwaway gag however is always ignored.
That is exactly the right opinion. All that matters, it that it's a good actor. Gender, skin colour shouldn't matter.

Personally speaking, I dont think they should really have a female Doctor just for the sake of it. I just dont see any reason why a female Doctor shouldn't be considered. In the end, they should just get the best person for the job, no matter their gender! ^_^
Timelords CAN change sex between regenerations, example: "The Corsair".

it doesnt matter that hes a male timelord. matt smiths doctor thought he was a girl (because of his long hair) until he felt his adam's apple so they've made it very clear its definitely possible. Capaldi is gonna be the next doctor that's a done deal but the 13th could still be a woman.
I really dont see what the bother is about having a female Doctor. I mean, The Doctor's Wife confirmed that Time Lords can change sex during regeneration, but not only that, all the characteristics and personality of the Doctor are gender-neutral. You dont have to be a man to be a heroic, intelligent alien eccentric who travels around time and space fighting evil in a box. Why cant a woman do that?
In the end though, they should cast the best person for the job, whoever he or she may be! ^_^
why has your comment received too many negative votes, this is correct HE cant be female because all of his previous incarnations were male and the Valeyard was male (he was a manifestation of 12/13) so it would compleatly ruin Doctor Who

To be fair, he (the Doctor) once talked about another time lord he knew being "she a couple of times" so it's a possibility. Still, all this "The Doctor must be a woman this time PERIOD!" is really getting annoying. Mainly because it seems to imply that if they don't cast a woman, then every1 involved is sexist (although several of the producers including the one who brought back the show ARE WOMEN). Pretty self-righteous if u ask me.
MALE time lords can regenerate as a girl. The doctor has stated that.
And 12/13 will have to be because the Valeyard was male
It does matter about the gender! the Doctor is a male Time Lord and all previous incarnations were male and also 12/13 together was a male so if HE regenerates into a female it will make a plot hole bigger than all the plot holes Moffat has created put together. So HE cannot become a woman!

My reasoning is that he is the only male role model on TV that doesn't use guns and violence to sole his problems and if you take the male away people won't want to watch it!
