- Two doe with the Mossberg 500 12ga with Brenneke 2-3/4" KO rifled slugs right at last light! Mostly filmed with the LidCam, it doesn't pick up low light very well, so you'll have to have a good monitor to get the best view.
Dude, I admire your channel and what you do. Your patience and kindness towards your wife and family. It is relaxing watching your hunting videos and deer camp videos. Showing what "smoke poles" is always fun to see what is used and ammo you use and the performance after the harvest. Sure makes the anxiety levels calm down watching them. It's very relaxing. No profanity, and family friendly channel. Also, the way you take your time and are slow and very methodical, and not rushed in what you do, you are a personality I try to emulate. Idk if it's the recoil or just my guns preference. The 3 inch slugs like to dig trenches under the target out of my 870. However, I can run 2 3/4 of just about any brand out of mine with good results. The best have been Winchester super x. My ribbed 27 inch barrel does better than the slug barrel I paid 150 for. There is something deeply satisfying about using the first gun that was ever mine to hunt with . So I feel your joy. I do wish I would have bought the rifled scoped barrel for the 870 looking back to see if I could have used it at 100 yards. But now if you find one it's about 300 dollars. Thanks for the video man.

Love your channel. Can you explain the license requirements in Tennessee. From what I've read you have to buy a regular hunting license and then buy a license for each type weapon you plan to use. And doesn't that become cost prohibitive. I'm hoping to move there in the future and was wondering how much all that costs.
Great question, it can be confusing. Yes, you're correct that we have to get archery, black powder, and gun season licenses separately... Or, you can just get the Annual Sportsmans License which covers all the deer seasons, small game, trapping, fishing, and WMA permits in one license. It's about $170.00 a year.

Excellent question. I process most of my own deer. Sometimes I just don't have time to get to them so I have to take them to a processor. The prices have skyrocketed here too, and there's only one processor left in the area so he can charge what he wants without competition.
I love my Mossberg 500! I have found the Hornady sabot slugs work best for me. Is yours a rifled barrel or smooth barrel? My dad has the same gun as I do but is much older and his is a smooth barrel, but mine is rifled.
This one has the 24" smoothbore "Slugger" barrel with rifle sights

The last one i had done was a basic cut for $100. Just two years ago it was $75 max.
