There is no detailed syllabus for N-cet just keep your basics brushed for physiology, nutrition and biochemistry refer any standard book which u follow in graduation

Hi Namrata as I already mentioned in earlier comments there is no clearly defined syllabus. When I gave N-CET that time most aptitude question revolved around health, nutrition, sports, Covid vaccine. Be aware about the related ministries. Like who’s who for health and all. Yeah there was question regarding booker prize for that year. I hope it helps in giving you a vague picture. Don’t worry much about aptitude be thorough with other 3 sections. The exam is really easy. All the best. Hope to see you in NIN.

Hi Namrata, they have computer system in lab which you can use to make your presentation in college. Also, It’s not written anywhere that it’s compulsory

I am not very sure about it. I think u can’t but still please check the brochure once for eligibility

Hey Thulasisaravanan, for entrance you have to cover 3 parts- biochemistry, nutrition, physiology. For all them just stick to whatever you studied in your graduation that will be more than sufficient. Exam is generally not that tough but since exam papers are not available online it just looks tricky. For the 4th section which is aptitude - they ask question related to recent activities in health, nutrition, sports this portion is vague I know but you can follow NIN updates on website, twitter(X) etc then follow ICMR Delhi activities Fssai, be aware of activities of related ministries like health ministry , youth and sports that ways you will be well prepared if u want to ask any more question you are free to ask.
Hii sonal firstly congrats for clearing gate exam. You mentioned that follow your degree syllabus for N-cet exam but every university have their own syllabus and study material. Please just some books or topics names for biochemistry and physiology. And N-cet exam level to ICAR level exam??
Syllabus might appear different but usually they all cover basics in your graduation. For instance :
Biochemistry : Mainly metabolic cycles (glycolysis, tca, hmp shunt, urea cycle, transamination, deamination, beta oxidation, fatty acid synthesis,glycogenesis, glycogen lysis etc ) vitamins, nucleic acids. Translation, transcription, replication (just basics) you can follow any standard reference book like lehninger or Satyanarayana.
For food science be thorough with all food groups and their chemical, nutritional properties, any special features. For instance in egg ( its structure, deterioration) milk ( pasteurization, homogenization, difeeent types of milk) likewise for all other food groups.
For nutrition : if you have studied any clinical dietetics subject, normal or therapeutic dietetics just brush up your basics like what should be tackled in which condition for instance low salt in hypertension, low saturated fat in cvds, carbohydrates distribution in diabetes. Fluid and electrolyte balance in diarrhoea like that.
Paper is really easy if I compare it with DU exam. ICAR exam I did not write so I am not the right person to comment but exam is cakewalk if your basics are clear. There will always be certain questions which u would not be able to answer during exam but we just need to focus on what can be done.

There is no such criteria. It’s upto you how much efforts you put

How to apply at online exam
What pass marks to get a seat
Cutoff is based on your category. For general around 55 marks you should have to be on safer side. For other categories it will be a bit less. Keep checking the ICMR NIN website they will update the application related notice there. Most probably from June end.

You should be eligible because some of my classmates have a similar background. I am not aware of recent changes. But you can mail them and clarify in case it’s not mentioned in prospectus

I am not aware of any such scholarship buddy. I don’t think they have.

How to get admission in phd at icmr?? And do phd students get to stay in hostel too?
Hi Shreeya, you can check NIN portal for phd admissions and you can mail the scientists directly in the department which you are interested in
Yes phd students can live in hostel but they need to pay for mess fee apart from hra so most phd student live outside to save money and better lifestyle. But u have can option
