When I went to Bali and experienced the deep religious ceremonies far away from the tourists I instantly recognized that I was missing that so deeply in Europe. It is not so much about believing in a story but more so about coming together at insanely beautiful places watching and listening to amazing art, everybody dressed beautifully, all kinds of rituals and traditions that everybody does. And christianity just doesn't do that, it is so boring and so just oppressive, oh I'm such a sinner please forgive me, etc. The only thing it has are good temples but most of them are just doing nothing over here. They should be repurposed for pagan rituals and do it proper. With beautiful decoration, banners, flags, ceremonies, food, music, offerings, prayers, etc. In a way that is alive and organic, not this stuck up grey scale christian thing where it is all about following rules and feeling bad about yourself. A wise person in Bali told me their core believe is make the world as beautiful as possible so the Gods have a reason to come down here. That is such a better starting point than you are a disgusting sinner and maybe you will not get tortured for life if you bow down before the one and only true god. Religion should be about making life more beautiful, more vibrant, not about whos team you are on and never breaking any of the dumb rules. Again the Balinese told me that they believe in many gods because man is imperfect and thus can never know the true nature of god, anything that is called god by humans can never be completely god. Again such a better starting point than I am the only one God and anybody who denies me will burn for ever!!!
