Very good reminder for me!! Thank you! I am the owner of a med spa after 28 years of nursing and wound care is a great thought process while initiating treatments and understanding the healing of skin and tissue.
My 7-year-old daughter enjoys watching your videos. She wanted to let you know that this one made her feel good about her healing finger because it looked red and beefy and therefore was good!
It was so useful but I would be so much glad if u show us pictures and examples about the wound types that u ve been through in Ur video for better understanding .thanks a lot
I must say, I came across your video to do a hit and run review for my Fundamental of HESI I have a feeling b/c of your videos I will pass this time. You explain things well, and you are detailed but not to the point of brain hurting. Thank you
I like the way you explain things, my only suggestion would be to maybe provide pictures here and there of examples of the things you're discussing to have that visual aspect.
I love yalls page and the way you teach! absloutley amazing. I do wish the audio was a bit more clear. other then that thank you for the great explanation!
That makes sense. So the difference between secondary intention vs tertiary intention is that secondary healing is never approximated via mechanical action, the tissue just builds up until it’s closed. And 3rd intention is when you allow the tissue to build up/or at least to a point that it’s easier to initiate a primary healing action via surgical sutures. It’s called tertiary bc there is a pause in that healing process where waiting for the wound to heal just a little bit before closure is needed. Am I correct
My daughter had a deep hole from an abdominal surgery done 4weeks age. Still draining serosanguinous thick fluid. We’re told to do wet to dry dressings. The wound has tunneled 6 inches according to the HH nurse. I’m concerned this is not healing as it should. Please advise.
I'm so sorry I'm just now seeing this comment! Great question--it's actually to have gravity help keep the internal organs more IN, rather than if they were sitting up there would be worse protrusion of the organs, if that makes sense! --Meris :)
THANK YOU! I wish you were my instructor for all of my nursing program, you teach well!
So kind. Thank you!
Thank you from an SVN, I find it so hard to find good veterinary nursing videos, I find human nursing videos much more informative :)
Wow you actually taught me! Something my professors don’t do… thanks so much 😊

Amazing,.. I'm having my medsurg exam tomorrow, you've made wounds very easy to grasp within a short period. 👍 Great work thanks

Yes! Secondary is left to heal "from the inside out," while tertiary will eventually be approximated when it is appropriate :) --Meris
Best explanation ever

Thanks again for the great information review. Do you provide wound care courses online?
We do have several wound care courses as part of our membership at LevelUpRN.com. 👍
Could you please explain a bit more why a saline-soaked gauze is needed? I am just not really understanding on the isotonicity. Thank you.
Because it would be like actual fluid from the body… has sodium like the body would. Keeps it moist, clean, and healthy until it can be fixed.
Thank you for the video! Quick question, do we place the eviscerated patient in trendelenburg because we're worried about hypotension?

Just curious what your surgery was. I have a similar scar on each of my arms.
Cubital tunnel decompression on both! -Meris
