My dad always painted a large dot on the lid top so he could see how it dried so he could paint his miniatures quickly. He had a LOT of paint bottles though, over 500...
I loved watching you lay the paint down. I can barely draw a stick figure let alone paint. By watching your video I was able to realize how the painting process goes. Thank you.
Thank you so much!💖 I am glad the painting process was easy to follow. I may do a more dedicated video someday to the process I use ;)
I love the green woman! The little swirls on her coat!
Love these creepy little portraits.
So cool! Can't wait to see where you finally hang them to decorate the house.
They look great hanging around.
Thank you Darnelle!! Painting these is really making me want to get back to working on the mansion so I can get them up permanently! ;) I will make sure to share!
You are an amazing artist Ara! These look fantastic. It's funny, I originally found your channel from a Bob Ross tutorial. You were doing a Bob Ross painting with miniature supplies. Together, you and Bob Ross got me into painting for the first time. I always considered myself a terrible artist, but after watching enough videos, I now realize that a lot of it is just knowing the techniques. I love all the painting you do on your miniatures and the techniques you demonstrate there. It's really improved my own work. I'm no where near your level on painting, but I hope if I keep playing I'll get there.
Oh yes! I firmly believe anyone can paint if they get a few of the techniques down. Art is definitely a learnable skill. Some people think you just have to be born with 'talent' but that's so not true. While some people pick it up a little easier.. its those who practice and seek out techniques that really excel! I hope you will keep painting!
You did a great job 🥇. This is a lost art. Years ago my mom and I went to a miniature show near us. At that show we purchased a miniature painting that was similar to Van Gogh's sunflower's. I find it amazing how artwork can change a room in a dollhouse. 😎
Thank you Michelle! Oh my goodness I love Van Gogh... it would be really fun to try to recreate some of his paintings as well. And I agree mini art can add so much!💖
These are hilarious! Uncle Fester is my favourite!
I'm binge watching I love them all your a true inspiration 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I find these simply fantastic. You could easily paint mini portraits and sell them. You are such a talent. I thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Thank you so much! It's something I really love to do so maybe I will someday ;)
I know this video is like years old lol but I’m just so impressed with your paintings, I hope to see more painting videos in the future!
LOVE these! The idea of using paint for texture on the frames is BRILLIANT!
Thank you!
The small pictures are super cute, you are really good at painting
Thank you Daniela! I love painting and enjoy it as a relaxing hobby ;)
The Frankenstein and old lady is my fav!
Thank you! They are prob my two favs also :)
@@BentleyHouseMinis you're welcome
These portraits are awesome!!!!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you Mariza!!💖💖
Ara, several companies make a matte acrylic medium you can mix with these paints to tone down the gloss finish. Use the medium instead of water or in addition to it.
Your portraits turned out terrific as all your projects do.
Oh that's great to know! Thank you💖
to make in scale canvases you could put a very small knit woven fabric over a piece of cardboard, coat it white, and then paint on that!
I 🖤 these so much! So cute!
Arrrrrggghhhh! A new vid!!! The best Friday ever!! ❤
Yay! I am so glad you are excited for my videos💖 Knowing that makes my day!
How fun! I just love all the details you are adding to the house!
Thank you June!! I just HAD to add some original Charles Addams somewhere ;)
Love them all!
Amazing Ara!! Love them!!!!
Such a natural artist Ara...thank you so much for the post x
Thank you Vanessa! So glad you enjoyed the video!
As always a great job! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Elena! They were fun to make ;)
FABULOUS JOB
The portraits turned out great! The paints seemed good for the price.
I never get tired of that cutter, it looks like a torture device 😸
Haha I guess it does a bit... don't get your finger in there! Thanks Dani!!💖
Omg, those mini pieces are amazing
Thank you!
Tu m'inspire ! C'est FOU ! Merci !
Love these creepy portraits! You are super talented!
Thank you so much Hazel!💖
So talented
Very much enjoyed watching you paint this morning. Loved the frame designs that you came up with for each also.
Thank you so much! The frames were fun to do!!
Love All of them on this rewatch, I really like the properties of these paints so may try getting a set!
They all look so great! the gallows one and the fester ones were my favorites! And they are just the right touch to those hallways!
P.S. I started my own miniature project this weekend! Watching this makes me want to go work on it some more!
Yay! Are you going to make videos over your project?
Bentley House Minis yeah! I’ve been filming it so far!
These are adorable!!!! I have to say. Like you the shine was unexpected! !! But you made it work!!!!
Thank you Sarah! I typically stay away from glossy materials but I will keep these for my faux-oil-painting supplies! ;)
Oh Ara! this is the perfect touch in the Addams house. I so loved. the Addams show, it brings back so many fun memories.
Thank you Kathleen! I love each and every way the Addams have been done... real life and cartoon ;)
These portraits are perfect for the Addams family house, can't wait to see them in place. Your frames are inspired, looking forward to pinching your idea and making some for myself
Extremely satisfying video! Similar to Chas Addams style, but you made them your own. Loved all, but the woman was oddly enough...my favorite. Can't wait to give this a try. I always had someone else make my frames...but certainly will attempt at least a couple. They look perfect in the Addams house! Thank you again for sharing!! 👍🙂
Thank you so much!! This is the easiest way I have found for frames and I was glad to share it with you guys. I do'n't make them any other way :)
@@BentleyHouseMinis Now you need to paint the famous giraffe dressed in a suit (Gomez's business partner) that hung above the fireplace in the 1960s t.v. series! 😁
i actually have that one printed off and framed already ;) I wanted him to be exact lol
@@BentleyHouseMinis 😉😁👍
Those are precious! You are so talented!
Awww thanks so much Angela😊
mesmerizing to watch
Glad you enjoyed it!
Your a great artist well done there amazing
Thank you❤ I appreciate that!!
So cute!
Thank you!
These turned out amazing! I gotta say the lady would be my favorite, she just looks so mysterious 🥰 and they even looked more amazing inside the mansion, great work! And looking forward to the showcase. Cheers! 😊
Thank you so much and I appreciate it! I really wonder if Charles had any idea of a back story for her....
@@BentleyHouseMinis she reminds me of a Vermeer painting, the girl with the Pearl eating? She has the same vibe, well their mysteriousness is part of their story it opens up a lot of avenues of what their story could be. She could be like a distant relative or as you said a witch 😲
That's an amazing compliment! I love that painting💖
LOVED LOVED LOVED THE OLD LADY (my fav) AND UNCLE FESTER!!! Any chance you would consider making them again and selling them on the Etsy store?
Thank you so much Berta!! I will definitely consider it but I may have to do my own twist on it since it looks so similar to Charles original work ;) I wouldn't feel right selling them... I will have to make a few of my own designs to sell💖
Wonderful ARTWORK! and great review these paint sound great.
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the review!
These are amazing, Ara!
Thank you💖💖
Those are amazing!!!
Fun to watch, and packed full of information. I loved the novel use for the paints to enhance the frames as well. Thank you so much for sharing x
Thank you so much and I am so glad you enjoyed it!
Brilliant as always ❤ fantastic work
Thank you💖💖
So stinkin' cute! You had me entranced throughout the entire process...Thank you, Ara! 💗
Thank you so much Heather! I tried to so hard to make the video a little shorter but I just couldn't lol. So glad to hear at least the long video was interesting the whole way through ;)
Great project.
Thank you!
Your style is so different from mine and I adore it! Practically makes me want to do something old and cooky like the Adams. I love watching your videos thank you for taking the time to share your skill.
Thank you so much for your kind words! That's what I love about minis... there are so many new things to try constantly! Fair warning... aging things is addictive and you may never go back lol ;)
thanks for picture flame tutorials .
I need to get me some of those paints !!! Thanx for the test-drive. They turned out great !
❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I am glad they looked like something you could use! :)
Thank you I hadn't heard of Arteza before - the portraits are great! and look really good in the hallway, Charles Addams is grinning in his grave...
Aww thank you Jillian! I often wonder what he would think about how popular his family creation has become ;)
These are wonderful! I have an outdoor saint that someone has asked me to paint over (it's waaaay to garish at the moment since she had one the art students attempt it) and just might have to play a little with those paints myself. I love how you were able to get the rich tones by blending the colors. You are always such an inspiration!
Sounds like a fun project! I hope the paints work well for you on a larger scale ;)
These are great!!! Frankenstein and Fester are my favorite :)
Thanks sis! I love the Frankie one too. I like Festers vulture and how he turned out better than Fester lol ;)
Wow... amazing work! Loved them all, but my favorite is the last one, too. Like Darnelle, I would love to see them in the house. Don't forget to show us! ;)
I definitely will Patricia!! Thank you so much!💖
Thank you for sharing your experience with these paints. they look exactly like the type of paint I have been looking for.
Oh good! If you do give them a try I hope you enjoy them💖
I was super curious as to what you used for the dimensional effects on the frames. I would have NEVER thought it was the actual paint. Very observant and clever of you. Love them all! ❤ And thanks for the info tidbits about the paints. 👍
It kind of reminds me of the puff paint that was super popular in the 90's to decorate clothes with! I do think it dries a bit harder than puff paints though ;) Thank you Sloane!!💖
You did an amazing job on these portraits! I'm in love with them! I really need to try this for my witch mansion. Thank you for showing us!!
They were really fun to create! I hope you will share what you create with me somewhere so I can see :)
Totally awesome 👍 I enjoy ur videos it shows u love what ur doin ,,, Thanks for sharein 😁 🌻👻
Thank you Nancy! I do love it so much!
Brilliant as usual, Ara! Love the framing idea - definitely going to try that. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks😊😄
Thank you so much! I am glad it can be useful for you :)
It came out so good! I really like the frames you made and the detailing on them.
Thank you Solveig 💖💖
New haircut? Love your work. Great portraits, well done.
Yes I chopped it all off for the summer... and maybe for the rest of my life lol. Long hair just gets in my way😆 Thank you!!
Amazing I love the portraits and frames ❤️
Thank you Diana!
I loved watching you paint and I think it’s a happy accident that you ended up with a different type of paint than you would normally try
You are so talented, the portraits are amazing. Now where to hank them? I wonder!
Thank you so much Paula!
Okay seriously, it there anything that you can't do? The portraits are amazing!
Anything athletic I am pretty bad at 😄
@@BentleyHouseMinis Hmm....I may need proof to believe that.
Good video, as always! Just curious ... Is there a way to make glossy paints produce a matte finish? Something, perhaps, that could be done either to the paints themselves, or a coating you could paint over them, for example?
Keep up the great work!
Thank you!! The best way I have found would be to put a matte spray on top of the paints after they have dried... mixing something into the paints would be risky (to the effectiveness of the paints) and extremely time consuming. You'd have to find the best type of spray for it however... some of them are more matte than others :)
Thank you, Ara! Lovely paintings! So cool. I would end up with stick figures . . .maybe. hahahaha Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much Linda! You have a great weekend too!
You’re the best, Ara
Wow!! These paintings are AMAZING!!! You are super talented and I wish I could have one of those painting!! Will you be making a portrait for each of the Adam's family members?
That's a great idea Cristy!! I will have to consider it!
It would be so lovely if you do!! I will keep my fingers crossed 😁❤
Super cute~ love these~ thanks~
oh what did you figure out the paints were for?
thanks
~Stacy
Thank you! The paints are for painting rocks or wood slices for outdoor projects ;)
My folks were born in the early 20's and they had Charles Adams book. I remember looking at it as a child. I'm not sure where it ended up but I would love to have it. Might be difficult if it's with one of my sisters, well either of them really. They may not want to part with it either.
I love how your paintings turned out and how you did the frames. Awfully tiny brushes for outdoor paint. What kind of paper did you paint on originally? Watercolor paper?
That would be really cool to have one of those original books! I knew he put out several of them ;) I am painting straight onto cardstock that has been prepped with gesso. I feel like it works really well.
Paint reminds me of enamel paint. It can be baked or give it a few days to dry as well
How interesting! I have never tried enamel paint either
Bentley House Minis it’s great on glass and when dry will be dimensional if you leave it thick or you can thin it down with a bit of water to get a smoother finish
Can I request that you make a video of grammas kitchen? I’m doing a witches hut/ dollhouse/ bookshelf and I need more variety out of my bottles and I’m not sure where to begin....
I have done a tour of the kitchen I believe... It's called the basement tour but I don't have many how-to's for Grandmama's stuff because I bought a lot of it from shows. However Sharon at "where the gnomes live" just did an interesting video on using plastic tubing to make glass... maybe it will help inspire some ideas for you! Here is the link:

I wish I could paint portraits. I can do animals, plants and still life, but I've never been able to do people.
Painting animals and plants takes a special talent as well! I have a super hard time with fluffy animals ;)
Birdhouse paint
Hej.what does your pliers called?i try to search on google in swedish but does not find anything like that.kindly regards!
If you look up "Craft Easy cutter" that should help you find it :)
@@BentleyHouseMinis ok!thank you!!
Very cool Ara! I'm going to have to try painting a portrait or two and see how they turn out 😀
Thank you Jan! They were super fun to do and I highly suggest have a reference to look at.. that made it much easier for me because I didn't have to decide where to put the shadows and highlights ;)
