Don't sugar coat this TODAY, this is just another way of keeping people renting. Rent prices will only go up, renters won't be able to save enough for a downpayment, and they'll be stuck renting for the rest of their lives.

Instead of building more rental homes, how about building reasonable price homes, and increasing people’s income. As a realtor in the ATL, GA market these are popping up a lot. It is a whole townhouse community for rent at $2,495/mo near me. But because mortgages are higher nowadays, more than rent even though rent is going up, it looks more appealing to a person to rent. Especially, if you are a first time homebuyer and all you can get pre approved for is $100K. In ATL, GA you couldn’t even get a home at that price now. Our average home cost in the metro ATL area is about $500K ..SMH, we have to do better for people to be able to afford homeownership.

This sort of predatory business needs to be banned. More people need to own. Owning is the only way to have stability. All renters are at the complete mercy of the landlord and if that landlord is corporate then it is totally hopeless. Anyone who thinks they are stable renting just hasn't been around long enough to be on the bad end of business.

this is not the American dream because the rent would just raise, this is not the fix to the housing problem. this is just for profit not ownership this is just a short term not long term. the problem is that one man own all of this and could just raise the rent to make it unaffordable. this is why younger generation think they couldn't afford a house in this day and age. so no this built to rent is bad and always be bad for future generation. this news is a bad take on affordable housing.

But, they just built a luxury home development like this, rental only, but rent is $4K+ I bought my home in 2019, I got lucky, my home had a low interest rate, it was built in 2019, we’re the first owners, we paid $350K which at the time we thought was expensive, our home is now worth almost $1M our neighbors house just sold for $860K and their home is about 300sqft smaller and no pool. Absolutely insane prices nowadays

Please stop this!! It doesn’t just have stupid high rental rates. They’ve filled the area where I live with this crap and now the infrastructure is so far behind life is miserable for everyone. It’s caused the rent and purchase prices to hike up so high that many can’t afford to live here anymore. It’s caused property taxes to go up, car and home insurance to go up, and not enough of everything from doctors to teachers to go around.
I’m a Millennial, I don’t know anyone my age or younger that wants to rent instead of own. They’re also struggling financially because their rent is being raised $300-$500 a year. I’m so glad I bought a house before this crap really took off, or I would be in the same boat as them.

Plus this community looks like you need an 80 credit score and pay first, last, and a deposit to move in or at least $6K.
