Not really, it depends on the individual artist. Some create a longevity that allows them to take a break because their fan base is solid. Beyonce can do that, Rihanna can do it, Taylor swift can do it but a lot if these new up and coming can not like summer Walker or city girls, which is technically pop music.

I never understood why rappers who come up are so committed to bringing the hood with them. Like they aren't the ones who got you where you are. You made the decisions and had the commitment to see through your dream. Rewarding a bunch of people off of your hard work for what? It never made sense to me.
