This song reminds me of my first high school girlfriend. I'm now almost 32 and glad I came back to relisten. I'm usually a hard rock and heavy metal guy but I've always loved this song and others by The Script.

It reminds me of the story of the Bronze Cowboy. He met a woman when he was 24 and fell in love but she lived in Greece and he lived in the US. He traveled back and forth for 3 years but her family wasn't supportive of their relationship. She ended up breaking up with him to make her family happy and he never fell in love again. He became the Bronze Cowboy (living statue) and eventually started filming his performances on the street and uploaded them to RUclips. She found him 24 (?) years after they had broken up and on his 50th birthday, he came back to Greece and they got married. Sweet, isn't it?

My dads favorite song, I listen to it everytime I miss him. He's not dead, he's in jail, but he's a nice man:) he's one the kindest but scariest man i've ever known, he showed that he loved us(his kids) as much as he could despite what he was going through. I thank the script for making this song, because now it reminds me that even if my father is not with me physically, he is still with me mentally and emotionally, and he will always be with me through every step in my life.

@@YeeterMcEaterRD hello, his friends introduced him to dr-gs at a young age and because he was going through a lot as a teen he used it as his remedy for what he was going through and got addicted, the addiction to dr-gs continued as he grew up and had a hard time quitting because when his streak gets too long it affects him and makes him unable to control his emotion and would often be angry over the smallest things. Despite that during the days his soberness was not affecting him his effort to become a nice father was obvious and made it known to us. Though a bit overprotective of us, we appreciate that he did his best to be there for us and never left us. He was arrested because a dr-g addict near our place was caught and the guy involved my dad although he already started quitting drugs, he still got sent to jail

This song makes me remember this old man I used to see whose house is at the end of a road bridge over a river I used to cross when going to school. His whole family died from a flood when a huge storm hit our country. He couldn't save anyone from his family, since the water current was too strong. According to the police report, he saw his family getting dragged by the current and their bodies wasn't recovered. Whenever I passed by that bridge, I always see him sitting on a chair outside his house and just stares deeply on the water. He wouldn't move at the same spot from morning to night, waiting and hoping for his family to come home. This went for a few weeks, maybe months, I think? Until we heard he died from a heart attack, while sitting at the same spot where he waited for his family.

Im on my teenage years and wanna feel emo at those times hearing the story of this song. 5 years have past and it's still my favorite song and The Script has been my favorite band since. Do you ever get that feeling where you think the song just recently came out, it can't possibly be old yet cause it's so good and you know it'll never get old, but then 7 or so years later, you listen to it again and you know so much has changed and then bam! You're suddenly in this weird realization that this song actually got old, and that it's been 7 years, and you're old and that you didn't realize how far you've gone but you still can't get over the fact that it's already old and how can it be old when it just came out like freakin yesterday, except that it's not yesterday anymore coz you phased through life and what the heck THE SONG IS OLD!!
