No signal loss issues? You flew in a few spaces that I hesitate to fly due to that possibility. Fantastic video and looks like You were lucky to get a nice summer day in Chicago since boats are still in the harbor. Harbor is empty now for the winter
A few, I'm sure. And the wind made things a little dicey as well. But if you just make sure that your drone has a clear line of return, you'll be fine. And yes the day was PERFECT. I wish I had more time on my layover to get more in-depth footage, but I'll definitely be back.
Although, just to be sure, signal loss issues are definitely something you want to avoid. I was, despite having taken the Part 107 and passed, very lackadaisical when it came to retaining much of that knowledge and aware of airspace. It was basically my belief that if your drone was geofenced below 150m (as is the case in Chicago), and that you kept a line of sight on the drone, then basically everything else is fair game. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything, but I was overeager to take to the skies and capture some beautiful imagery. Even so, that really wasn't any excuse and so I'll definitely be flying with much more caution and consideration in the future.
Chicago is wild when it comes to locations where signal loss occurs. It happens in locations where Ya wouldn't expect. Current weather is nice but a lil windy. Hoping to get great shots in a few days
