so elegant and beautiful. Where can I buy napkins,\? I live in Bali,Indonesia and there is nothing of this kind here
Thank you Jogry! If you are on Facebook there is a page called Mason Jar Madness and Decoupage. A lot of the women sell napkins and someone on the page may live closer to you or they may be able to tell you where to get them nearer to you. I have a store on Amazon where I sell these napkins. Do you know if Amazon ships to Indonesia?
Patti
looks great!! how is it possible that you can SIT on something made of napkins? :-)
Hi Patty,
im having trouble matching the color of the napkin with paint. Im working on 2 larger pieces of furniture, an end table and a extra large magazine rack. Any suggestions? I really didnt want to buy 20 small bottles of paint. Secondly, one napkin has a different background. so I fussy cut it out but when glued down the color has darkened. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi Sally, are you on Facebook (please say yes) you can visit my page Upcycle with Decoupage and post pictures of what you're doing so I can see and help you out a bit more. When you say you're having trouble matching the color of the paint, do you mean the background color of the napkin and the paint? If you are working with a pink flower as your image (this is just an example) and you paste it over a darker color it will not work. You would need either a lighter background color (a good rule-if not using white is to just stick to pastels) or you would need to use wrapping paper to decoupage instead of napkins so the color will not bleed through. Does this help? :)
Patti
how did you make the embellishment scroll at the top of the heart on the right?
Nice! What is the surface you are working on? Great inspiration!
Thank you! The surface of the heart is Papier Mache' but I did put contractors paper over my counter top to protect it. I wasn't sure which surface you were asking about. ;)
Patti
patioelf Thanks...wanted the work surface. Went to our local thrift shop and got some wood trays. :)
starchild582 OK> you're welcome. I'm actually finally getting a craft matt that you can wipe clean and use a hot glue and a heat gun over-without melting it. So you'll be seeing that soon too. 😊

Wow way to fast making that green bow.. but very nice!!
Hello, I wonder if you know a company that sells napkins with very beautiful grounds ?? .. I love everything that has a French touch.
Here in Canada, I have yet to find anything nice ... I hope you can give me good addresses.

I did the same with Stodoys :)
How can you make a papier mache heart like that?
Hi Anne,
I purchased this one so I'm not sure how to make one. I'm thinking you can look here on youtube for how to make a paper mache heart, there has to be a video on it somewhere on here. 💗😉
Patti
Anne, for a flat or slightly curved version try this: You can use a paste made of white flour and water. Newspaper or paper bags for the "paper. Heavy plastic sheet. An old hand towel - or T-shirt rags. Mix the flour and water in the blender to make a thin pancake type "glue - paste". Pour into a large pan, such as a roasting pan. Tear paper into palm (hand) size pieces. On the plastic sheet draw the heart size you want with a black permanent marker. Make sure your plastic is at least 5 inches larger on all sides than your plastic sheet. Put the ink side down toward your table. Place the towel, folded, under the plastic. this will give your heart some curve or drape. Shape the towel so the edges of the heart are on the edges of the towel or T-Shirt rags.Dip the paper into the flour water paste, and pull over the edge of the pan to remove excess, so you only have a very thin layer of paste on the paper. Only one side needs to be coated. Place on the plastic, smooth out. Continue over lapping the paper to the edge of the heart, (you will be cutting the shape of the "heart" later. Over lap the paper/paste layers to 6 layers for newspaper, and 4 for paper bags. For a torn heart edge, use your fingers and tear the papers along the drawn edge on your plastic. For a hard edge you will use scissors. (wash scissors immediately after cutting) . Keep the towel or T-shirt rags in place under the heart. Let dry for several hours, and depending on how thick you kept your paste, will determine the dry time. Once dry, paint the paper mache' heart with your base color. Decorate. Have fun! (we do this over balloons for pinatas !
starchild582 Thank you! That was very nice of you!
