I've found a great resource for those of us who have e-readers. Many e-readers allow us to download fonts. Aurebesh AF font can be used to replace a book's standard font: hey-presto, you now have a book in Aurebesh. Once you have the letters memorized, start reading the book. At first, it will be really slow (it takes a while to start picking up how to sight word read). But within a few chapters, you'll be reading faster, and after finishing a book, you'll be reading pretty much as fast as you do in English. It really has hugely improved my ability to read Aurebesh.
This actually helped a whole lot I was able to read everything in this video. Granted it took me a little bit to read everything but I did it all without looking at alphabet key thingy. It's also my second day actually trying to learn and wow I'm proud of myself.
Holy crap, this was definitely useful. Just watched the video without studying any Arubesh previously and although it took awhile to get through the end credit messages, I was able to "decipher" them all without looking at a language key thanks to your helpful hints!
Ok idk how common this is but just after watching this video through ONCE I could read all the text at the end only guessing on a few letters and got the whole meaning eventually. Great video and so pleased to pick up this skill. Gonna leave notes to myself everywhere in this and no one will have a clue!
Second day studiedag aurebesh! Have memorised all the symbols, can slowly write in them, and could slowly read the words in this video, only I had to pause them. This helped a lot, thanks!
i used this to decode what my spork from disney world says! so fun! it’s less of learning a language and more of a galactic code but it’s still super cool
I like how just watching this video made me learn That's All Folks at the end...never seen any of your videos but a couple minutes and I'm already learning
Oh my god thank you!! The connections you made were really helpful and I have already almost memorized everything!! Edit: I decided to learn this five minutes before watching the video
I’m not even a huge Star Wars fan, but I saw there was an entire alphabet for this and I was like “screw it, why not?” Plus I can learn short term knowledge pretty quickly without even realizing, so yeah, I could read the end stuff
For "f", you could think of F with the stem broken off, & put through the middle. The letters for k, d, & r look similar to their Hebrew equivalents (k=כּ, d=דּ, & r=ר). "P" is also similar to a sideways Hebrew "p" (פּ). "x" is a squished version of "o".
Ending says: If you can read this you are obligated to leave a comment and like this video. Sam Witwer is way too friggin hot. I kinda wish I'd learnt this back in school, could've passed coded notes back when my friend Paul and I would play Clone Wars. I was Rex, he was Cody and my dad's Volvo was a spaceship. Maz Kanata's segments in Forces of Destiny make my soul happy.
Oh wow. I knew a few letters here and there but after this I literally just memorized the whole alphabet in the 5 mins. Im just slow but I dont need the sheet anymore. Your tips do help, thanks!
The "mirror caps" rule really is useless with the Besh (B), Herf (H), Osk (O), Trill (T), Vev (V), Wesk (W), and Xesh (X), so it makes sense that Star Wars refrains from this rule. Perhaps adding a dot on top of each letter denotes caps?
i know its not the focus of the video but there is another number type that looks more StarWarsy and is actually used they look like squares you place one in the first column than a second in the second column and so on (kindve it'd take a minute to explain with out a visual guide), and their hard to find pictures of online for some reason took me a while to find an accurate listing
Honestly I just used the alphabet sheet and practiced writing different words a lot. I started pretty recently but I have already memorised most of the letters.
2 days in and I can sound out everything! Give me two months and I will be able to sound out everything. After 4 months, writing will become as easy as regular Latin script
0:27 That one that looks like a scrunched up 3 is the Star Wars equivalent of the Ash (Æ or æ)... Also, since no one uses them I guess they're a lot like the letters the English Alphabet dropped.
I just found this video 2 days after i learnt aurebesh. it took me 3 hours to learn aurebesh but now im from a padawan to a jedi may the force be with you. True btw solo is underrated
It took about 4 - 5 days, but I have been practicing a lot with the aurebesh trainer and now I take notes in class, in aurebesh. "Can I look at your notes?" "Sure" Shows notes done in aurebesh "What the hell is this?" "My notes, only I can read them" Internal laughing.
Lol, i love how everyone says "I'm learning Aurebesh", i learned it in less then 5 hours lmao, no offfense tho, i really reccomend learning it, it's so easy to learn, and btw, the title says "solo is underrated"
Now I can cheat in the exam, may the force be with you
Good idea
I actually did that in a check work)
May the force be wt u🙏
Massive brain
Ok I’m going to do that now no one will know
I’m currently studying Aurebesh. This is my second day, I can read Aurebesh a little. I need to study more on punctuation.

Just learned aurabesh and it is the most useful thing ever. It’s so cool playing jedi fallen order and being able to read it all
I love that game

This is like the most effective language class I’ve ever taken, the linked web tools were super useful :)

I just watched this video as a first introduction to the alphabet and I could already read the text at the end without looking a single letter up
Bro this is easy I looked at the that's all folks at 4:42 and read it easily thanks so much man
Holy crap, this was definitely useful. Just watched the video without studying any Arubesh previously and although it took awhile to get through the end credit messages, I was able to "decipher" them all without looking at a language key thanks to your helpful hints!
I just realized something... The small center plate in Boba Fett's chest armor is shaped a LOT like the symbol for besh, only it's rotated 90 degrees.
B is for Boba Fett
“Solo is under rated” !

Awesome video man! Took me roughly 40 minutes to learn it thanks to your tutorial.

This clicked after about 10 minutes of practice! Love it
I am actually amazed i could read the "that's all, folks" after watching this only once and using your letter association tips
Commenting cause I read the end message. Kind of taught myself already how to read aurebesh, but I was looking for some practice ideas.
its funny reading the thumbnail, already knowing aurebesh xD
Its true though right? So underrated
Solo is underrated
I’m jealous
Here's my obligatory comment.

Solid video. And the bonus "translations" at the end were funny!

Surprisingly i found Aurebesh not too difficult
That british accent 😂
There is multiple British accents this is an English accent

this does seem easier than i thought
only took me about 15 seconds to pick up the "that's all folks" at the end
managed to read the last part right after watching this video! Thanks a lot!
I just started learning because I’m playing Jedi Survivor and all the lore logs you find have the two alphabets side by side
This is so incredibly helpful! Thank you so much
