    Hey Carolina, I really wanted to thank you for inspiring me to start wearing vintage. I have been in love with the style for a very long time but always thought that it would be impossible for me to wear it on a daily basis. I have just started out collecting some vintage looking or real vintage pieces 3 or 4 months ago so I certainly cannot wear it every day yet. However, I'm so glad that I finally started my collection. Before I found your channel all I saw were people who have more of an hourglass shape. Even though type wise we are quite different, bodywise we are quite similar. I thought the style really did suit you and I thought it might suit me, too. So far I have purchased two coats, some dresses and some skirts that are vintage or can kinda pass as vintage. Sadly, so many of the dresses started ripping which is sooo frustrating. I'm still hoping to fix them though. Anyways, ever since I have found your channel I've been watching your new videos and a lot of old ones. I take huhe inspiratiok from your style and pieces that you get so of you ever feel like showing more of your collection (especially hats and gloves - you made me a had fanatic as well lol) I would love to watch it!

      Your message just put the biggest smile on my face! 💕 I'm so happy I inspired you to start wearing vintage ! It takes a while to build a vintage wardrobe, so I'm glad to see you are taking your time to build your collection. A lot of people go out and buy a bunch of things when they want to change their wardrobe, but you don't end up building a collection you love that way. And from the sounds of you are already on your way to building a beautiful collection! Vintage is very delicate I'm picky about items I buy and where I wear them. If I'm moving around a lot (Carrying things for example) or cleaning, I'll wear vintage inspired. My delicate pieces I save for special occasions (Holidays, Special dinners, going to the theatre stuff like that). However some vintage pieces are really sturdy and I wear them daily! It just depends on the piece. Thats a great idea! once it starts getting colder I can start doing come collection videos!

      @@CarePinglo Thank you so much for your reply! It really means a lot to me! The best option for me to buy cheap vintage is vinted as I live in Europe. Idk why but so many people on there tell me that the pieces are in mint condition but arrive with wholes or tears a lot of the time. I also try to wear my capris or skirts whenever I wanna move a lot. However, even though some of the dresses that I bought looked fine at first, they ripped open at some areas 🥲 I really thought it was sturdy cause they were made out of cotton and wool. It's really frustrating. Especially since I'm not the best at sewing and don't wanna mess up an old piece. So that means I will have to get all of them fixed at one point.
      And I agree with your points! I really made sure to start with some basics first and tried to get things in my main colourscheme. For me that's blues, greens, white and grey. Getting some fitting accessories for the clothes has helped so much as I, even though I'm still lacking a lot of pieces, feel like I will be able to at least look vintage inspired for most casual days. Your outfit videos, especially the winter layering video has helped me a lot to plan ahead for the colder seasons and I feel like I shoulf be able to mostly wear vintage inspired pieces this fall and winter! 💗
      And yay! Really looking forward to those videos then! I'm sure they will be amazing and will give me new ideas on what to buy next! I just recently bought a little fur scarf that reminded me a bit of the one that you got from your grandma 😊 Enjoy the rest of your week!

    Madilyn here. You are too hard on yourself, you look adorable in anything you put on. I have many pictures of my Mom who lived in the 40s and you look just like the pictures. The brown suit is great and you just look terrific in it. Actually any outfit you have on are so spot on with the gloves, purses and hats. I loved playing in my Mom's glove drawer. I still have those gloves in all different colors. Relax and enjoy yourself in all those clothes you purchased.

    Such a fun vlog Carolina! I really enjoyed it!
    Don't be too hard on yourself about your hair or the suit! I thought it was still really cute! Especially with the extra accessories.
    Also - maybe you should rethink sewing up all your pockets 😉 I have several circle skirts with pockets and I am actually able to fit my phone in my pocket. Since the skirt is already really full, you can't tell the phone is there. Then those are the times I can wear a cute tiny purse 😊

    • @CarePinglo
      @CarePinglo  Год назад

      I usually don't buy clothes that have pockets, they are so annoying lol. I always see girls being excited about clothes with pockets and I'm like "WHYY" haha but I guess everyone has different preferences. I have sewn up pockets before so the silhouette looks better, so i'm considering it! 😊

    • @raulitageiger7643
      @raulitageiger7643 Год назад

      LoL 😂 to each his own! I get sewing them up on a pencil or a-line skirt because they do add bulk, but a circle skirt is supposed to be floofy and bulky, ya know? That's when I say you could get away with it 😊

    Another wonderful vlog!! In regard to styling suits, I agree with the other comment that it might need a little tailoring. Also styling it with a different and larger hat might be an option. Since the suit is so simple and clean cut, adding bolder accessories might help take it from looking nanny-esk to the more chic model style you are going for. 😊🖤

    • @CarePinglo
      @CarePinglo  Год назад

      Thank you ! Thats true I could try a larger hat! The issue is that where I live tailoring anything is REALLY expensive, especially wool. Last time I took the waist in on an unlined dress it was $40 so I'm not sure I'll commit to doing that. I might as well just wait and buy an authentic 1940s suit set, it would be cheaper in the long run. But I'll try some other accessories and look at more photos online to see if I can save it !

    i could feel your frustration with how your hair turned out that day lol. if it's helpful at all, on days where i just don't feel like setting my hair, i usually turn to a few options: wrapping a large braid(s) on top of my head (there are even fake vintage style hair pieces i've seen on instagram...i'm dying to buy the one by stevie rosalie 😩), using combs/pins and hairspray to manipulate an s-shape on the deeper part of my hair, a low bun or chignon, or just straight hair with a vintage scarf wrapped like a turban. hope this helps!

    Carolina, what are you talking about? You're an excellent vlogger! I always enjoy them, but yes totally get that it's embarrassing to do it in public...but it's very much appreciated!!! ☺💕
    Oh my, those books are gorgeous!!! But those prices?! 📚💸😱😭 They have to go on the birthday/Xmas list for sure!!!
    Noooo you have the perfect hair colour to buy some faux fringes on Amazon! It's 0% commitment, you don't lose any hair thickness (for fine-haired folks like us it's a major bonus) and black is an easy colour to find! I personally haven't dyed my hair in a very long time so I have the blonde/brunette colour you can see in my profile picture which is a tricky colour to find a perfect match for (I did get one that is slightly more red-toned than my natural colour but it's an easy fix in photoshop for my blog photos 😜). Definitely worth a try and a fringe really suits you!
    Wow love that suit at 28:46 on you, not at all bulky looking! It fits perfectly on your shoulders and the lapels are great as is. The skirt I would pull in slightly at the waist with a bit of sewing at the sides so that it's not very visible (an easy fix that you don't have to be a professional to do) but otherwise yes it looks like you've stepped out straight from the 1940s I that outfit!!! 😍

    • @CarePinglo
      @CarePinglo  Год назад +1

      haha some people are just naturals at vlogging! Thank you so much for enjoying my videos 💕
      I've never thought of faux bangs, I had bangs for years but its hard to creative authentic looking 1940s looks with 1960s bangs (what I had). I actually have A LOT of hair haha. It doesn't look like it but my hairdresser is always shocked at how much hair I have. its just really straight . THANK YOU !!! i was a little unsure about it and I didn't want it to look like "office wear" from the 80s.... (yuck). I wanted it to look like a suit set from the 40s that women would wear around with beautiful hats. I was actually comparing it to some photos from the 40s and it looked almost identical to some photos I saw!
