I personally think this is the scariest piece of Sonic horror ever. Most others are either killer plushies or confines to a game, with no real power in the real world.
A flash drive containing an epileptic scene is a very possible thing to happen, especially if it's made as a troll game.
And seeing as how this came out before Sonic.exe, I'd say it peaked when it had the chance.
For those wondering the order of the first 3 sonic creepypastas:
The first is "El Pendrive Azul" (what you're seeing)
Second came "SONIC 0"(Refered to as Chinelin Sonic, and Sally.Exe(or Sally.Alt) is a literal copy of it)
Third was "Sonic.Exe"(The most famous sonic creepypasta)

nah vibing leaf did it better this one does have something better though imo just being that its less seizure inducing but i like vibing leafs take more as its more realistic and that makes it scarier imo, where the game isnt even haunted by a sentient creature its just a rom hack created by a very evil person who made the rom hack with the sole purpose of inducing seizures into people who dont take flashing screens well and getting them killed by playing the game. This is obviously made for inducing seizures since after the really big and long seizure screamer sonic appears with the continue thing and for a good last measure the creator added a another seizure screamer after the distorted sonic image incase someone had survived the attack
at 1:50 it says "He suffers / is suffering" in Greek, I guessed that since I'm Ukrainian and could guess some yummy Greek letters sometimes

It was nighttime for me, so I unfortunately missed the fun..
Anyways..
...It is finally here.. the re-adaptation of a Sonic creepypasta I wanted to aknowledge since my first encounter with Sonic.EXE era.
I always wanted for Sonic to have bloodshot + blood-leaking eyes, yet smirking that look all away. And, turns out: it was here all along. Even before Sonic.EXE.
As much as I find this whole E.P.A. topic interesting to discuss, - the pretty same goes to this re-take.
And yes, "re-take", because this one surely has its own quirks and twists. Which is even better, You can agree!!!
But nevertheless, let's stop stuffing, and quickly analyze the take itself..
The gameplay part, : ...I think I already saw this one before, aswell as some other take also used it..
But no matter what, - I still adore the atmosphere and vibe of this S1 copy. It's like it was *exactly* made for P.C. as a forever-free product.
Those simplified physics, the lack of loop-the-loop, one tunnel skip, Sonic's inability to normally fly or fall normally, - all of this are surely the charms of this port.
You can agree it is truly a Sonic PC-port, and not a ROM-hack.
The second, NEW sequence, where the truth starts to crawl from the skin, - I also appreciated it!!
I love how dull G.H. looks now, like it is some field full of unease and suspense.
The glitchy-itchy music is also a nice touch, even if it sounds crunchy (which is a little ironic for a non-16bit game engine(?)).
Of course, we should mention the main scene of this sequence, - when Sonic lost himself, starting from his mimdset and face. The distortion that was eventually appearing, - pinches on the vibe with even more discomfort.
Hell, there was exactly everything what was from the creepypasta itself: game's visual distortion, screaming female figures, and probanly even mkre that I did not mention.
But the lying corpse of Sonic just nailed it even more. Such a delicious cherry on the top, really!!!
..Speaking of "delicious", : now, we are moving onto the most well-baked part of this take..!
The presumable change of recording devices is already an incredibly-clever start. You know, this flash drive feels like a real virus, which is far more logical way to explain the reasons of game's quirks.
Sonic.
I could write a whole-separate comment about him in there. There is very much enough to discuss about him in there.
For example: the "fear warm-up" of Sonic is although classic, BUT STILL an alarming feeling of unpleasantness and horror: how long he just stands there with his eyes closed and does nothing except grin - this is really something.
And the further, the better: as I once said under one of your community posts, “its quality of animation is truly the very theme of horror.” But now, here it’s even better.
The countdown itself and its idea really do their new thing here!! ESPECIALLY the part where the countdown is finally visible and clear: it's just this idea of mixing it with "Continue?" sequence from the vanilla game, - DUDE, I JUST LOVE THIS!!!
After the countdown... the carousel began. Namely, her second call.
THE HERO BECOMES MORE CREEPY AS BOTH THE FINGER AND THE HEAD MOVE WITH AN UNPLEASANT SMOOTHNESS; EVERYTHING AROUND SONIC IS ALSO SUBJECT TO GRAPHICAL CHAOS;
SONIC HIMSELF SOON BEGINS TO "MELT" FROM THE FLESH, WHICH INCREASES ALL THE VISUAL GOSSIP AROUND HIM -
....and, in an instant, right after Gonzalo blinked: ...that was his last blurt. So, - Sonic shook his nerve. Well, and the women follow too.
....Fucked up, to be honest..
There are only three adaptations in total so far, and already some deep and juicy thoughts have been thrown into the blender.
But still, I would like to note something, as it seemed to me, comments, mainly in the text itself.
If I'm not mistaken, then Gonzalo in the original creepypasta knew what "Sonic" was all about. So, here the mask of suspense is unnecessary.
..Although, on the other side of the mirror: this non-recognition is doing its job. A great example: when Sonic hits... ahem, "interference", Gonzalo clearly notices the disarray of the sprites, even without knowing anything about Sonic (also, unlike creepypasta, he is sure here that this is just a graphical error. I think for good reason you changed his self-esteem).
Overall, what can I finally say:
This remake is truly the bloody-gorgwous one.
You hammered it even better and right on the spot than the first version.
As much as I love TBFD/EPA Sonic, - I love your view on him.
You truly know how to sort out of the threads.
Oh the reason the gameplay looks the same is because it was made by the same person lmao, its a entirely different game tho

What's sad is that this story wasn't all that popular or widespread for simply being in a different language...
Thus, Sonic.EXE took all the credit for being "the first sonic creepypasta." Even though the story was complete garbage, and later on the creator did some stuff that I don't wanna get into.

Creepy as hell, way to go dude for creating the retake.
Y'know, usually i'm not a big fan of old creepypastas because of how repetitive they can be, and how badly they use jumpscares and fail miserably at actually being scary
But this retake? My. word.
That buildup is incredibly good, taking its time to build tension and letting confusion and anticipation set in, i especially love how it used glitches and bizarre events more than actual gore and shit (other than sonic falling to the ground but you get what i mean, in that particular case it just confused you and throws you off, which i reckon is pretty well used)
The sole reason why the jumpscare in this actually works (aside from actually being disturbing and incredibly creepy) is because of how good the buildup is, resulting in an amazing payoff where you're actually unnerved and creeped out instead of being a simple screamer and you move on with your day, it actually left me shivers when i was done watching, i noticed that image flash mid way but didn't knew what it was, and later on when it was revealed what it was? I literally froze and freaking said "oh shit", i was literally shocked and speechless at how good it managed to unnerve me, it's incredible!
And one more thing, the sound design? ABSOLUTELY HAUNTING
The way the music distorts and screeches halfway and is replaced by screams was SO GOOD, even better since it just cuts to silence after that
Overall this is an amazing remake of what the original was, hats of to you, loved it! 💯✨✨

This actually freaked me silly, i have seen anolog horror before and now they didnt really scare me or send shivers down my spin..
But at 4:11, i actually had shivers sent down my spine from how the head moved and especially the situation going on. Great work man!

Good video, tough apparently you decided to make this retake like if there is a being behind sonic (because of the DEAD FRIEND thing) its still much better than the popular sonic.exe story.
I still preffer the original one because demonic beings are very saturated (i suppose in the time where this Creepypasta appearead wasnt that saturated) but I just suppose that whatever entity is inside this game is impotent of moving out of the game so recurrs to flashing lights and loud sounds to damage or even kill epileptic people.
If i were to expand on this take i could say Sonic was tormenting Gonzalo over his friend's death, the entity wouldn't have much of a goal in doing this other than tormenting people just for fun. It's not something extraordinary but it's something I see blue pendrive sonic doing if he were to be an entity
@@komorioni well, he was the causant of Gonzalo's friend's death so its very probably that he killed his friend and when he saw Gonzalo decided to torment him instead of killing him. Because when the countdown reachs zero it starts to deform sonic instead of automatically jumpscare Gonzalo, and also when the screamer (I mean the moment in the original creepypasta that is designed to give a seizure to the player) appears it doesnt makes any effect on Gonzalo. So it has sense that was trying to torment him instead of hurting him too.
Honestly the story of el pendrive azul is a bit more realistic than sonic.exe, as in the sense that it could be a fake game made by someone with the purpose of hurting others, instead of some weird possesed game.
I saw the original video back when i was a kid, the original story was badly written was barely audible (something common in old videos), but it was still interesting.
