In rare Gran Turismo hatch form, BMW's sixth generation 3 Series offered five-door hatchback versatility and much more rear seat space, along with a more unique look and a slightly raised Crossover-style feel. The extra height and weight these changes brought created a different kind of drive with this 'F34'-series model, but families looking for a compact hatch with a premium badge from the 2013-2019 period might not mind that. This, after all, was at launch the most practical compact model the Munich maker had ever brought us.

Had mine (320d) for 4 years now and it kicks along nicely.
I hadn't realised these models were so much bigger than a standard 3er, Touring even! I guess that explains the weight. But the concept makes sense, and as someone who has a 2 Series Active Tourer i really do get it, though yeah, it ain't the prettiest of the line...
I know it's a 3-Series but tbh i think it's more like a stretched 4 series.
Yep, it's like a mix between the 6 and the 4 series

I really can't wrap my head around bmws mpg figures.
You have to remove at least 15mpg off their figures.
I drove to Wales cornwall and cotswolds in 3 successive weeks,me my girlfriend and dog,in eco mode at 60mph on motorways,I was lucky to get 50mpg from the car.
I regret selling my audi TT which could get the same mpg on long drives.
Wow, thought the bmw was good for mpg? !
They shouldn't get away with such false figures, it's just plain lies
