Nathan, this is your best video do date. I have a customer where I mow strim blow four large tennis court lawns. No stripes just a nice cut. Takes me over three hours with the Honda 21 inch mower. I have thought that this job would pay for a decent John deer ride on and trailer. Food for thought. Going to do some research over winter. Thank you .

I got couple of jobs like this I been thinking about buying a mower like this myself. Thanks you talk a lot of sense and made my mind up on buying one now . I been struggling for a couple with walk behind mower on a job like this . Probably will not buy brand new will buy second hand somewhere.

Money makes money. And if you are not grafting because of it then that is a real bonus. Just got to keep it all safe. I've got a stump grinder, bandit zt. For my own jobs and other tree surgeons. Always feels like a day off. The ride on looks like a proper bit of kit! Bravo 👏

Nathan at 50 in Thailand 1 acre+ i was using a push along elec mower and a strimmer took a whole day of hard work, at 55 I thought sod this and got a ride on 38" MTD yanky mower fantastic for a few years, but they are not built to last, at 60 I have been rebuilding the thing for the last 3 years, now start it with a electric drill and have just GRP the holes in the deck, but it keeps on going, no way i could cut the (grass) weeds now without it, any kit that makes life easier is worth having
8ft tripods are a god send, 8x4 trailer allows me too take hedge cuttings away and the punters happy. I am saving the pennies for a ride-on tractor mower for next year. I have a few gardens that are 1.5 acres and that's a lot of walking.
Tripod and trailer must open up a load of hedge work for you👌 you're doing it right by saving and then investing, too many buy things on credit and then realise they can't afford it or need it. Thanks for watching 👍

Looks a great piece of kit that, best ‘extra purchase’ after the usual Stihl petrol tools I’ve bought has to be the chipper, paid for itself in the first few months.
john deere 748 it was money but it did open up to more jobs with the three point hitch able to do rough cut jobs and field work to aswell as lawns i think the trick is to get them signed into at least four years to garuntee return aswell as the odd jobs between
I looked at smaller compacts and attachments before getting this but thought this would tackle difficult access areas and it fits easily in the van so it's quick the and easy to transport. How do you rate the John Deere?

I've got the 98 and live in Scotland. I have 20 acres with hills, brambles, ferns and wild rhododendrons. I don't know what I would do without it. It creams through everything including heather on the steep hillside. Only thing I don't like is that it does not like soft ground even with diff lock. It's bloody heavy to lift out. So I use a ratchet strap to the nearest tree. Spare parts are expensive too. Even so, I will buy another when this tank dies and it will be the 4 x 4.
That sounds like you're really testing it there👍 could you hook up a small winch to the front, something similar to what quads have? They are brilliant machines💪 thanks for watching

Wanted same as u green mech but wanted something that could do both wood and green waste was like looking around and come across a bit unusual kit called eliet which are a bit different shred it but very capable machine now in dilemma of needing a bigger mower do a go for the walk behind or the sit on a really like the mulch mower could use on a few sites so see what happens
Looked at them and was like yeah a like em but managed drop on a eliet prof hydro zr infeed roller and self propelled wheel forward n reverse it's 240 kg gross weight it's bloody heavy that 13 hp Honda engine 80mm capable but of a beast for mea Wen your used to hand ✋ loppers lol 🤣 second had bit done nothing if a sent you a pic you be like wow it's new the oil is like new and a wouldnt say it's bin serviced either big firm bought for a closed access job then sat idle fir five years think there lads spoilt for machinery choice

I bought a little chipper to do one job, I was going to hire one but then thought why am I charging the customer for the hire when that money is going to pay off someone else's bit of kit when they can be paying off my bit of kit and like you said I've had the confidence to quote for other work knowing I've got the right kit to do it now, win win , I know its not on the same scale as your example but I'm a big fan of investing in equipment, the more you invest then the more jobs you can take on and then the more you can earn and then invest again, 😀
It’s certainly worth buying the right kit as we spend so much time using them … I’m always looking to buy something to aid the work as long as the business account allows … nothing worse than struggling with knackered machines as we have all been there in previous years …👍☀️
Just to update Nathan .. I’ve actually just bought a good second hand Etesia brush cutter.. I’ve got an area to clear with some fairly largish areas of brambles.. I’m not expecting miracles but will it have a good chomp on those 😮
Just invested in a new pressure washer it’s a Honda gx 390 it’s a beast of a thing i got the surface cleaner with it as well getting through jobs a lot quicker now 👍
I'm just starting out. It happend my chance my sisters garden was over grown. I lent a strimmer mower and an electric long reach hedge trimmer . Took before and after photos. now I'm on my 10th paying job Baugh second hand good Brad tools, off a local lad who fixes and sells I've mainly had all over grown jobs, after 3 jobs every thing is payed for and now I'm £600 in profit and looking at extra kit to buy to make life easy

Bought a Honda 2417 ride on mower. I have 2 lawns that will pay for it in 20 visits. I really want to buy a kubota mini tractor. Could do roadside hedges and other jobs.
Nice one👍those honda ride on mower last forever. A compact tractor can be real hand and I've often thought about a small one with hedge flail attachment, that would be great 👌
You can to a degree and I do use on some fortnightly commercial maintenance. Cuts down to around 50mm which is low enough but doesn't mulch the clippings so will leave a line of clippings to the right of machine. On areas that are not too fussy it'll be fine but won't replace a collection ride on mower. Hope that helps, cheers 👍
This is the dilemma for my boss we do gardening in a Gated community and there's a meadow and large pond and they haven't decided who get to cut those areas. If he gets that contract he's looking at the husqvarna zero turn brushcutter. But it's like you say it will eventually pay for itself and opens up potential clients. I'm thinking of getting a shredder as waste costar getting so expensive but in two minds to get one as a decent one like you've got is expensive as are the hansas what are your thoughts do you thinking it's a good investment keep up the good work 👏
Hansa ones look quality, I'm sure you can demo them too. So many brands out there now at all price points it's difficult to say, maybe decide how often it'll be used and work a budget from there. Good luck and sounds like a good plan with the cost of the waste. Cheers for watching 👍
I think it's all about where you want to be in the market. What your budget is and what storage facilities you have. A mow, blow and go man can earn £150 - £ 200 a day and be home mid afternoon every day. He may be very happy with that. Others want to earn that much for one / two hours work and will strive for it with investment and training. It's horses for courses I think.
Definitely, 80% of our work is easy mow blow and go, it pays as good as everything else and often more. I've found over time your name goes around and you get asked to do lots of things so you either say no or take it on but then you have to sometimes get kit to be able to cope. I've had a few weeks lately where I've been able to access what I'm doing and maybe 40%of work I take on is jobs I don't want but just there to pay wages. On your own doing regular and tidy mow blow and go jobs suddenly seems very appealing
Definitely creates opportunities when you have the right machine. Good investment 👌 I know the guy who has 11 hours on their digger. Yes, you don't have to use these tools everyday to make them a good investment. Maybe you can reduce the more tiring jobs if you get the mini digger. We ain't getting younger 😀
I'm heading towards changing what I'm doing and how I do it for those reasons, been on my own this week and I've already started implementing a few things. 11 hours on a digger sounds perfect tho😅👌

Could you use the brush cutter where you use the ferris on the banks? I need something for banks, I love Etesia they get the job done ✅
The Ferris cuts some long stretches of banks that would take a while to srim but would be doable. Etesia just get it done...👌

Definitely creates opportunities when you have the right machine. Good investment 👌 I know the guy who has 11 hours on their digger. Yes, you don't have to use these tools everyday to make them a good investment. Maybe you can reduce the more tiring jobs if you get the mini digger. We ain't getting younger 😀
