4:18 - I don't agree that Red 5 is throwing to the eventual receiver. (1) It's way too soft (2) the throwing lane is bananas, like you point out, and (3) look at the body language of Red 5, how he reacts to the catch, and what his headspace looks like afterward. I think it was a trust throw to the player "clearing" to the stack (clearing poorly) who wasn't awake to the opportunity / urgency. 16:30 - This is an opportunity to point out one of the problems with "double cuts". Two people going to the same space, the thrower thinks "surely someone will get this", both players defer to the other. Disc to no one.
4:18 : It's certainly possible, but if it was to him, I think it's very poor execution because it was a very far throw and not sure he would have even gotten there since he was facing the other way.
Red 5 here. My throw was definitely not intended for B. Zwarts (the scorer). It was intended for nr 50 (L. Decraene), who as you say, was wide open. I threw it because I thought we had eye contact and the GB defender had his back turned towards me. Definitely got bailed out on that one.
it would be great if either once you've broken down the play you let it play all the way through without stopping or do it before the analysis - it's kind of hard to really see the sudden movements or hesitation you mention when it's being start/stopped 🙂 great analysis otherwise!
