I saw an article yesterday that apparently the dutch fans were being violent towards the English, then I saw livestreams of Dutch and English fans, talking together, laughing together, drinking together, dancing together and just having a good time. You can have a room of a hundred. 90 will be absolutely fine, but those 10 that aren't become the focus and drags down the rest. Dutch is one of the closest languages to English. We have common ancestry. As you say though football expresses itself in the emotion written over people's faces, the synchronised roar when the ball hits the back of the net or palms touching foreheads when its against our own team.
The Dutch are just as jinxed as us. Just like us, they have only won 1 trophy in their entire history. We both got KO to Portugal at euro 2004 and The WC in 2006.

Never a penalty. Went to watch NL beat Ireland at Anfield in '95. Actually went to watch Ireland beat NL but that didn’t happen! Still, great occasion before, during and after the match thanks to wonderful Dutch supporters.

I think not having Frankie De Jong available became a major blow as the Dutch teams’s midfield creative spark and being able to win the ball back and create spaces. Without him, I think the Dutch team reaching the semis was a good end result for this tournament.

I was in Berlin recently just before the Holland Vs Austria game. The Dutch fans lit Berlin up with their fun and laughter around the city. Zero trouble just great fans and a pleasure to observe.

Love the dutch, our fans and theirs are one in the same, same energy by far the 2 best lots of fans in the world. It was a good game and although we had the best first 65, dutch started coming on strong and it was looking worrying for us going into extra time but the subs changed the game. Absolutely devastating for them, but absolutely exhilarating for us. This is football.

Unbelievable decision but hey that referee was always going to be on the England side with all the talk about him being corrupt by the English media so no wonder he made sure England got every decision went the way of the English side. Netherlands was always my second team in my youth, mostly because I loved watching the fans, but it was also the golden era of Dutch football with some of the best players of all time dazzling us with their skills. It was a brave effort by the Dutch to reach a major semifinal. Even the horrible defeat to France in their first match of Euro 2024 qualifying phase, they still went all the way to the semifinal. They really show a lot at this year tournament.

I think not having Frankie De Jong available became a major blow as the Dutch teams’s midfield creative spark and being able to win the ball back and create spaces. Without him, I think the Dutch team reaching the semis was a good end result for this tournament.

I thought the Dutch team would give us a big hammering. They got off to an amazing start with a fantastic screamer of a gold. I was very nervous at that point lol! I was in Berlin recently just before the Holland Vs Austria game. The Dutch fans lit Berlin up with their fun and laughter around the city. Zero trouble just great fans and a pleasure to observe.

Love the dutch, our fans and theirs are one in the same, same energy by far the 2 best lots of fans in the world. It was a good game and although we had the best first 65, dutch started coming on strong and it was looking worrying for us going into extra time but the subs changed the game. Absolutely devastating for them, but absolutely exhilarating for us. This is football.

We’d never have lost that game if that ridiculous penalty decision wasn’t given. Unbelievable decision but hey that referee was always going to be on the England side with all the talk about him being corrupt by the English media so no wonder he made sure England got every decision went the way of the English side. Fantastic fans and very gracious in defeat. Netherlands was always my second team in my youth, mostly because I loved watching the fans, but it was also the golden era of Dutch football with some of the best players of all time dazzling us with their skills. I'm sure that it would be an amazing experience to be over there with them hosting a tournament. UEFA/FIFA/Netherlands, make it happen.

It was a brave effort by the Dutch to reach a major semifinal. Even the horrible defeat to France in their first match of Euro 2024 qualifying phase, they still went all the way to the semifinal. They really show a lot at this year tournament.
