Transposed Instruments Explained

Thanks for sharing this Mark, so when you play your sax are there keys you prefer?

I am comfortable in all keys on all my instruments, except the recorder. But, when I write a new song, I am very aware of the range of the instrument, to feature its tone in a high range or a low range.

When I saw "explained"in the title, I thought I'd get an explanation on why we have to deal with transposition.

@@JimsMusicLessons Now you know why. Because the note names are based on fingerings, not actual pitch.
