I recently watch this useful video of cleaning the EGR valve because my protege was having idling issues(P0300,P0401) and take to long cranking to start. I removed my EGR and the valve was very sticky so I cleaned it with wd40, pushed the spring lever and down until it spring back up freely then reinstall it back to the intake manifold, start the car and problem solved. This videos save me money not having to purchase another EGR valve. Thanks for this video and the person produced it.
You have same car and same scanners as me😮 thank you for a very helpful video

Hi @Eric_lieu, beware of misfiring, it could cause the catalytic converter to fail after long term driving with misfiring.
Thanks for explaining all this very well.
I just cleaned it today and the 2 screws where a pain up the ass to put them back again.
I snapped the far bolt, man was that a pain
Excellent video
