my grandma used to get a big pot and fill it with bell peppers onions hot dogs tomato sauce and homemade salsa and we'd eat it in a bowl over mexican rice and i thought it was the peak of gourmet food. i told her recently that weenies and chile is my favorite meal to this day and she told me "oh mija thats poor people food i used to make that because there was 8 of you grandkids i had to feed with no money." sometimes the food you eat when you dont have money is a thousand times better than food you eat when you do.
Growing up, my family didnt always have money to get enough food to last. One night, all we had was hot dogs and shredded cheese in the fridge. So my dad sliced the hot dogs super thin, made a pizza dough, put cheese, hot dogs and sliced onions on the dough then put another piece of dough on top and made hot dog pie. Like a stuffed pizza type deal. I'm 34 years old and to this day hot dog pie is one of my favorite foods ❤
You have the best recipes!..... and the part where you were eating that nasty fish, is the 1st time I seen you without makeup and you're beautiful without and with makeup. I've been a subscriber for only a few months and I'm super glad I found your channel.
We're can I find the link to purchase the pot and pansypu use I cook sooo much just like u and I need a new set . I no u said link in bio but I can't find nothing.
If people have pretentious opinions about food they probably never had to struggle. We grew up poor in the 90's. I remember thinking it was a treat when my mom made hot dogs. Canned chili was fairly inexpensive (which I hate & never eat, but still). So were bread & weenies. She would boil the hot dogs in her hand-me-down slow cooker & my father would make homemade fries from a bag of potatoes in vegetable oil. I'm grown & I do just fine now. But to this day I still prefer a boiled hot dog to a grilled one.. It's nostalgic & comforting. I rarely make them, but when I do I'm taken back to 1995. When my parents would joke around, bantering back n forth in the kitchen, actually *liking each other* , & cook that cheap ass meal.
