    awesome interview - you both demonstrate the intellectual side of tennis - keep up the great work Jonas love your channel and website and combined with the crew at tennis warehouse you are both no.1 on my list - thank you so much for keeping me entertained and engaged throughout the year!

    Interesting to hear the guys talk about focusing on a racquet for your strengths. Federer said that the 97 helped his serve and backhand, but hurt his slice and forehand, arguably his two biggest shots. I'm sure the trade off was worth it but his forehand especially let him down in the later years.

    Nice one. I remember the Donnay/Bollettieri days. I was in Middle/High School. Played with the Pro One Oversize and Academy Pro because of the association. Still have my Pro One.
    Have often thought that the TW crew have one of the best jobs in the world... Pretty sure I am right. Congrats on 20 years Chris.
    Thanks for bringing us this interview Jonas.

    We really need a podcast based on classic raquets like donnay, prestige, 85s, and the like.

    If you haven't already, Jonas, you should visit the crew in San Luis Obispo someday. SLO is a very cool place, and the central coast is worth a visit. I miss it very much myself.

    Interesting that Chris says the manufacturers take Tennis Warehouse feedback on board. Makes me think that this could have at least something to do with a lot of manufacturers moving back to more flexible racquets.

    This was a good podcast. The only downside is that I find TW will never give cons to racquets, moreso they'll give varying extents of compliments instead. It makes it difficult to learn what a racquet is about. Maybe its because they receive endorsements from the respective companies? Either way great podcast Jonas. Keep the videos coming

    Random question, but do you think the RF97will be discontinued? It didn’t come out in the v14 release, and I’m wondering if I should buy it now if they’re not going to make it anymore

      It might be, yes - I was surprised not to see it in the current V14

      @@Tennisnerd that’s so sad, one of the best commercially produced rackets ever imo (despite difficulty of use). I’m a junior and plan on switching when I get older, do you reccomend buying now?

    Hi Chris and TW. Big fan. Could you talk to the Head HQ reps and let us know when will they sell the 18x19 radical MP Djokovic actually plays with ? People really liked the old radical MPs up until the IG version and that model / mold together with the box beamed earlier models got discontinued all together. Would be nice to have a true retail Djokovic’s racquet one day to complete my collection. Thanks again.

      Djokovic plays with a Speed Pro.
      Well, unfortunately, that’s what HEAD has marketed for years and that’s what the average rec player believes. How are HEAD going to extricate themselves from the hole they’ve now dug themselves into with regards releasing a 95sq in 18x19 Speed Novak Signature model?

    • @mustafa_sakalli
      @mustafa_sakalli Год назад

      Never. People was so excited when Wilson released RF97, they rushed to buy it and 2 hours later their arm fell of bc of monsterous static weight and high swingweight. In Novak's racket it could be even worse, his racket even more demanding than Roger's one. It can damage Head's reputation instead of increasing

    I found that story about the failed racquet brand interesting… Especially with the fact that it got STIFFER after feedback from the moronic laymen who complained about the previous iteration. I personally see this in all racquet brands to be honest. All stiff pieces of crap compared to the old 95sq inch twaron infused frame bade in the 90s and used by top 50 for last 20 years? It goes to show engineers and tennis players clearly don’t have the social skills to be able to overrule the men in suits. The men in suits would probably be out of a job if they made racquets perfect the first time round eh…
